Windows 7 disc? You mean the recovery disks I made?
This comp is two months old...
Do you think it could be a power supply unit malfunction? Its got some of the symptoms, though I don't see any smoke and I don't feel the fan is failing to spin.

Nah, it's not power supply related. If that were the case you wouldn't even be able to get to those error'd boot screens b/c you wouldn't be able to turn your pc back on.
Did no recovery discs come with your pc? Or is it one of the newfangled ones with a "recovery disc drive?"
