"You know," Zack replied, "I really have no idea. Austin is a dweeb. Ignore him; it works for me."
Then Zack held up his palm, revealing what was in it. This would be particularly helpful against Michael, who was slowly approaching.
Austin let out a muffled, but exaggerated sigh of frustration, next door. Then the sound of more breaking material.

Michael crept down the hall, intent on getting into the room where the loud noises were coming from.

Austin began singing, "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands" by unknown, in the next room. Zack yelled at Austin to shut up, using vulgar language. Austin kept singing, but switched to "It's a Small World," also by unknown.
Zack just sighed in frustration.

Elizabeth sensed the nearby vampire.
Hana was still asleep next to her dad.
Natsumi was in a light sleep, sitting on the chair next to the bed.
Akiko looked over as Travis began to wake up.

 Mitsuki heard the singing now and started walking towards it, wondering why someone would be singing right now.

The shower was now running. Zack turned and looked at the door to the room, as if for some reason Austin might run by naked or something, and then gave another, frustrated sigh. "That... kid is infuriating!" he complained to Elizabeth.
"Anyway, Elizabeth, what did you do before you came here?"

"Not much. I just graduated from high school not too long ago," Elizabeth said.
Akiko looked Travis over. Then she said, "So I finally get to meet the guy my little sister was living with for a year and a half." She crossed her arms.
