"It would make it easier if you did, thank you," Donovan replied back to Earendil with a small bow.
Though he had a feeling as well that Lin was quite fond of Earendil, but then again she didn't get many playmates that were not Seconds.

"It's my pleasure," Earendil grinned, bowing as well. "Besides," he added as he straightened, "I really hadn't expected her to have to leave so quickly."
He grinned at Lin, but it was a little sad. "Ready then?" he asked her quietly.

Lin looked thoughtful, but she knew even if she said no, her daddy would insist. He did not like wasting time at all, her daddy did not.
She nodded, "I'm ready, let's go get the dollies."

"It's the same room where you were sleeping when you were here a few weeks ago," Earendil told Donovan, "so if you remember the way there" - which he wasn't sure of, since it had only been a half night - "then that's where it is."
He started towards the stair tower.

Donovan nodded as he did remember (more or less after three weeks) where the room was. So he didn't feel like he was being completely led there, nor did he feel lost in anyway.
"That makes it easier," he admitted, "So what has she been up to?"

"Well got to see the top of the mountain!" Lin spoke up, wanting to tell her daddy everything, "And I played with Nina and Earendil, and got to talk to Sir Valemdar, and he showed me a magic book where back then there were trees that Mommy would have really really liked. I tried to get to know Earendil's daddy better, but that didn't work out so well, but I got to know a guard instead."

Earendil chuckled. "She tried to follow Ada to the forges every day, so he had to keep handing her off to a guard so that she couldn't follow him. Apparently she's gotten into the habit of falling asleep in his arms every morning after breakfast. As for the mountain," he added, "you might like this ... Elrohir came back from the desert pretty out of it, and she managed to convince him to take her up there even though he was so tired and she knew she wasn't supposed to go up there at all ..."
He laughed again. "The next morning, Elrohir didn't even remember anythign about it!"

Triton couldn't help but chuckle at that, for no other reason than the fact he could see Lin doing that. Lin was far too much like Donovan at times, though Donovan never struck him as much of a rule breaker, at least not openly.
"He couldn't have been too happy when he found out," he murmured.

"Well someday I'm going to go up by myself," Lin replied back, "And he was just being nice...." she added all too sweetly.
She smiled up at Donovan, enough that would make anyone like him twitch.

"Right..." Donovan murmured, "And you didn't try to take advantage of the situtation, gods know that's what I would have done," he added as an afterthought.
Being malniputlated by a mini him, well he could only imagine Elrohir's expression after that.

"And we played 'stalking' in the labyrinth," Earendil went on, leading them up the stairs, "and she joined me for lessons, and taught Sir Valdemar and myself brush writing ... all in all she was very well behaved and a lot of fun to have around."

"Stalking, you actually join her in a game of stalking?" Donovan chuckled deeply at that, because normally it meant injury whenever Lin did that, he then asked her in Chinese, "Did you practice your numbers?"

Lin spoke back, but her Chinese was not as quick as his, and sort of drawn out. Though she knew it almost instinctively, she did not know it well enough to talk like he did, "Yes father... I practiced a lot."

Earendil smiled. She knew another language as well ... interesting. It sounded like she was still learning, but that was of course to be expected, since she was so young. Three, she'd told him.
They arrived at her room, and Earendil opened the door for them. "In here," he nodded.

Triton tilted his head as he went over to gather Lin's things putting her dolls away, he stared at the very familiar looking doll.
"Is that the doll we all gave mom as a gift?" he asked absently putting the Donnie doll into Lin's bag.
It had been Yue and Yukito's idea, espeically Yue's seeing as that's what he and Jaseth had growing up.
