As it so happened, Allegra was actually quite close by, following rather closely behind an irritated Shocker, who wasn't exactly amused by the kitten's chasing of her long, delicate tail. The occasional spark or two flickered from the Raichu's cheeks, and she grit her teeth, doing her best to keep herself from attacking and pummeling the Skitty into submission. "Go chase your own tail," Shocker growled, taking a swing at the annoying pink Pokemon, who ducked, avoiding it completely.

"Mousie! Mousie! Mousie!" Allie cheered, jumping up and trying to grab onto Shocker's tail once more. "I'm gonna getcha, mousie!"

"But I'm bigger than you!" Shocker protested, yanking her appendage out of the kitten's reach. "Get away from me! Seto! A little help please?" she begged, catching a glimpse of the haughty Persian, who was sunning himself in the light of the morning sun filtering through a nearby window.

"You're on your own, Sparky," he scoffed, stretching out and enjoying the warmth.

"You're no help," the Raichu grumbled, spotting a peculiar, star-shaped Pokemon ambling towards them. Deciding that now would be a good time to ditch the kitty, Shocker looked around desperately, her gaze resting at the top of a bookshelf. Using a burst of Agility, the Electric-type bounded up the side of it, perching herself on the top. "Ha! In your face, Skitty!"

But Allegra wasn't listening. Her tail swayed back and forth as she spotted the tiny pink Cleffa headed her way. They'd played together yesterday, and from what she could recall, they were rather like-minded. "Star! Star! Star!" she giggled, darting over to Twinkers and doing circles around the little fairy Pokemon.

"Hi Kitty!" Twinkers replied, watching the pink kitten Pokemon circling her. At the right time Twinkers tackle glomped Allie into a tumbling roll of pink Pokemon. The two older Pokemon looked on indignantly at the youthful antics. "So what are we going to do today? Maybe we can go on a treasure hunt!" Twinkers was obviously excited.

Seto lifted his head to look at the younglings "Theres no treasures in here so leave. You annoy me" he finished with a slight growl. "Thats right" confirmed Shocker "Go find some some long forgotten treasure in the attic or the basement" ... and leave me alone thought the thunder mouse.

"Ooh! Let's go to the attic! Come on!" Twinkers pulled Allie to her feet and started towards the door in as fast a waddle she could manage. It didn't take long for Twinkers to realise she didn't know which way to go though.

Just because Twinkers didn't know the way didn't mean Allie was oblivious too. Running in a zigzag patter akin to that of a Zigzagoon, the Skitty eagerly lead the way, taking the duo on the scenic route, not limited to but including under chairs, tables, and also into a rather dangerous prodding of a spiky-looking ball that turned out to be Digger the Sandslash. After fleeing for what both Pokemon will claim as their lives, they found themselves heading in possibly the right direction.

A chance meeting with Rosemary, Kasiya's rather timid Bayleef, gave the two pink Pokemon had a rather aromatic companion, that is, until the mention of a dangerous treasure-hunting journey to the outer reaches of the attic forced the Grass-type to politely withdraw.

"Now where is it?" Allie mused, her large ears twitching as she tried to remember which door lead them to the attic. "Our treasure awaits, but I can't remember where the attic door is!" Tears began to well up in the kitten's eyes, that is, until a familiar blue Pokemon came bouncing along their way.

"I know where it is!" came the cheerful voice of Tracey's Marill, her oil-filled tail bobbing up and down cutely behind her.

"Really?" asked Allie, eyeing the Aquamouse's tail. It took a bit of self-control, but the kitten managed to restrain herself from trying to chase it. "Will you show us the way, Marill?"

"Of course," Marill nodded. "But on one condition!"

"What's that?" asked Allie curiously.

"Take me with you! I wanna go on a treasure hunt too!"

"The more the merrier," Allie cheered, and nodded to Twinkers. "Okay team!" the Skitty said, assuming the lead. "We're moving out! The treasure in the attic will be ours!"

Twinkers was having a ball wandering around the mansion. It was fun following the energetic kitten Pokemon around all manner of obstacles and poking at all manner of things. She got a little scared when this odd spiky ball thing unfurled into a large (to her anyways) Pokemon that kind of grumbled at them before they retreated.

Luckily the duo ran into a Marill, with whom Twinkers exchanged a friendly handshake. With Allie in the lead and Marill giving them directions the Trio headed off for adventure, excitement and possibly some shiny treasures.

"Hi! I'm Twinkers. You look like you're fun to hang around with" the young Cleffa chattered excitedly with the Marill. "What’s your Trainer like? I hope I can get something pretty for Akane, she seems so busy with all those books - she looks so serious that it can't be that much fun." Twinkers frowned a little. "I hope that something we find could help cheer her up." The smile was back in an instant at the thought of the treasures awaiting them.

A completely bewildered look came over Krystal's and Ringu's faces as what Ninetales had just done began to sink into their heads.

"H-how could you do that to your own partner?!" Krystal yelled. "He was a jerk, yeah, but you're supposed to be working together!" The fox laughed, and her voice seemed to echo throughout the region, carried along by the breeze. "What I do is of my own agenda, you naive little dragon. Besides which, I have the strength of three Gengar! I require no assistance in dealing with you both!"

Ringu grunted angrily. "That's no way to treat someone you're supposed to be friends with! What's wrong with you?! Grr-raah!!" He ran forward on all fours, his paws hitting the ground in such a way that it created a th-th-th-THUMP, th-th-th-THUMPing noise. When the bear was within a few feet of Ninetales, he pulled his arm back and up over his head, extending his claws; an instant later he brought his claws down toward the fox in a Slash attack.

Ninatales had other plans. She launched herself forward at Ringu at a blinding speed, and crashed into his stomach with a Quick Attack before she was struck. She knocked him onto the ground and quickly scampered up onto his stomach, a devilish grin on her face. "You are a very unwise Pokemon, thinking that you have the ability to strike me. Allow me to show you the error of your ways."

All of the fox's tails lifted up into the air, and then turned a shade of glossy gray, before she brought them down upon the bear, performing an Iron Tail attack. But she didn't stop there-- after striking, she brought her tails up again and struck him, this time loosing a Fire Blast into his face simultaneously. "You see?!" she cackled, attacking him yet again, "This is what happens when you att--"

Ninetales' sentence was abruptly cut off
when Krystal Slammed into the fox's side, launching her off of Ringu.

Keegan marveled at the competitiveness between the two, and shrugged. There was no use in saying anything, although he was sure that Kasiya wouldn't let Mike live it down if she and Fang won.

Keegan recalled grimly the last visit he'd made to Goldenrod City, and it hadn't been the leisurely, tourist kind. The Embers of Mitsu's Houndoom had burned him during Team Rocket's invasion of the Cherry Blossom Festival, the attack coming while he and the others were busy fending off many other Rocket Grunts. Even if he looked at the wound now, the twisted scar left by the wayward attack would still burn with pain. He forced it from his mind, trying to remember the more pleasant memories he had of the bustling city of Goldenrod. There was a gym here; they'd passed by it a few times. He didn't know what the leader was like, or what kind of Pokemon he/she may have used, but perhaps someday, when he and his team had collected the Hoenn badge set, they'd try their luck with Johto.

Marill listened intently to Twinkers as she chatted on, her sensitive ears twitching. The Aquamouse grinned at the star-shaped Pokemon, and patted her on the head. "You remind me of a very cute little Togepi that I used to travel with way back when," the blue Pokemon said with a half smile, reflecting on the mannerisms of her own trainer. "I know what you mean about the seriousness though." Marill frowned for a moment, wrinkling her nose. "My trainer is a Pokemon Watcher, which means that he studies Pokemon and draws them. He gets so absorbed in his work sometimes that he forgets everything that goes on around him! He left me in my Pokeball for so long one time that I thought I was going to die in there. Oh, Allie, turn here! The stares are beyond that door."

"Ooh goody," Allie cheered, having listened to the two Pokemon conversing behind her. The trainer she'd had before was nothing like the two that Twinkers and Marill were describing. He'd been mean, and he yelled a lot, and sometimes he even didn't feed her. The kitten never really did understand what she'd done to cause him to act that way, but she rarely thought about it now, though. She'd always look back to that fateful day where she met Kassie - her new trainer's Pokemon were something, that's for sure.

The kitten snapped out of her thoughts, looking at the door that Marill had indicated. It was closed tightly, and even between the three of them it would be impossible to reach the door handle. "What do we do now?" Allie asked disappointedly. "It's too high up to reach."

"Allow me," grinned Marill. "Stand back, please." Allie (and presumably Twinkers too) were careful to stand out of the way as Marill backed up, eyeing the door carefully. She muttered to herself, sizing up the obstacle before she started to run forward, curling herself up into a ball as she did so. The rolling Marill slammed into the door rather forcefully, hitting it at such an angle that it creaked open upon impact.

"Whoa!" cried Allie. "How'd you do that?"

"When you've been living here for a while, you come to learn a few hints and tricks," the Aquamouse smiled. "Let's move on, shall we?"

The pineapple tilted his head (which was really his entire body) as he looked at Flareon. It had only seen this Pokemon on a previous occasion, and now he was supposed to fight it? He didn't understand. Kilik sighed. "You're not actually fighting to win," he explained to Ludicolo, "I'm training you against Flareon to..." he paused to think for a word, "bring out more of your abilities. Got it?" Ludicolo clapped his hands a few times, making sure he understood. He waddled over a few feet, then gazed at Flareon.

"Flareon! Use Flamethrower!" Kilik annouced. The fox jumped into the air, blasting a stream of fire towards his sparring partner. Flareon had never used the attack before and he felt a rush of excitement fill his entire form when he did. He dug his paws a little deeper into the sand when he landed. "Now, Ludicolo!" the boy yelled, "Dodge it anyway you please!" The Carefree Pokemon spun on the spot and bent backwards, as if being dipped by another dance partner. The Flamethrower coursed right over his body, and he looked over when he heard Kilik tell Flareon to cut the fire. The stream vanished when it struck a near-by rock, leaving a very nice scorch mark. So, following instinct, Ludicolo 'dipped' to dodge it... "Ludicolo, when I say 'Tango Style', that means I want you to go into a dodging mood, okay?" Kilik asked, watching the Pokemon nod. It occured to him at that moment it was a very good idea to evolve his Lombre. "Attack with anything you wish!"

Flareon whimpered and looked over at his trainer. Anything he wished? Couldn't that mean a Water-type attack, which would clearly take him out? The fox did not like where this was going. He turned his attention back to Ludicolo, who was running over to him, moving his hands as if he were playing an invisible guitar. The Fury Swipes connected once, twice, three times before Flareon managed to get away. Ludicolo hopped back an inch or two, swaying back and forth once more.

"Ludicolo!" Kilik laughed, "When I say 'Hard Rock Style', I want you to attack with a Physical move! Let's practice!" Using these different Styles will keep my opponent guessing as to which attack I'll perform next! he snickered, They'll each be completely random! Let's just hope Ludicolo knows which move to use in which situation.

Goldenrod was in sight, Kasiya and Fang were too. So close, they were so close to a victory. Mike sighed, patting Nitro's head. "That'll be enough," He said with a low smile. "We'll get them one day." He felt exhausted, almost as if he himself had flown all this way. Is this the bond Koga was boasting? He thought. What's the use if both trainer and Pokemon get tired after battle?

Nitro snorted, a bit of smoke shooting from his nose as the Charizard began to spiral down. In a rather graceful display of flying prowess, the Pokemon slowly descended downward, landing right in front of the Pokemon Center. Nitro glared at Fang, still upset at his loss.

There was the unmistakable odor of dust and disuse wafting from the now partly open door but also underlying that was the scent of something else. What it was Twinkers couldn't say, but the other two seemed to pick up on it too as a silence descended on the Trio.

Twinkers broke the uneasy silence "Well, let’s get going! That treasure isn't going to find itself!". The small Cleffa started to climb the stairs, struggling up each step with more bravery than she felt. With action being made the others started their first trial - getting to the top of the stairs. It proved hardest of all for Twinkers who was noticeably the smallest and less agile of the three. Marill found the going somewhat easier but still something of a struggle. Allegra was jumping up from step to step ahead of her companions zigzagging her way upwards with ease though was careful not to get too far ahead.

After what felt like forever Twinkers had finally made it all the way to the top to join her companions. She was breathing hard and sat down for a rest, stirring up a small puff of dust in the process. Even with her eyes adjusted to the darkness Twinkers couldn't make out much more than some shadowy shapes cluttering the long attic.

Ludicolo took a deep breath, readying himself for Kilik's command. "Flareon! Flamethrower!" he called out, Flareon complying with a burst of fire from his mouth, aimed again at Ludicolo. "Ludicolo! Tango Style!" With that, Ludicolo held his arms out wide and side stepped the attack casually, twirling on the spot he stopped on. Kilik then called for 'Hard Rock Style'. Now, what did that mean? Physical moves, right? Swinging his arms side to side, then placing them out in front of him, Ludicolo balled his hands into fists. He began to rapidly move his wrist in a fashion similar to how a drummer would play a drum. The coconut made a dash towards Flareon, who blinked and jumped out of the way.

The fox didn't know what the attack was, but it was going to hurt.
"Great Astonish!" Kilik laughed. Flareon looked at his trainer and barked questioningly, as if to say 'You liked my Flamethrower, didn't you?' and Kilik understood exactly what he meant. "Great Flamethrower, too," he said, reaching down and petting his partner on the head. He thought for a minute. I need to think of a way for him to use a special attack... Kilik placed a hand on his chin and scratched thoughtfully. Nothing was coming to him. He would need to see how Ludicolo acted when told to use a Special move before he could think up a name for that Style. And attacks that would change weather or inflict status, he thought, I could just call out. Yeah, that seems fair. He clapped his hands together a few times.

"Alright, Ludicolo, use...Giga Drain!"

"Oh not that..." Mag squeaked to himself as the explosion occured. But upon the clearing of watery mist and normal water, the flashing Starmie showed all. "Alright!" Mag said jumping up with his right fist held high. "We did it Sunfire!" Mag called out as he jumped over to the pokemon in a running glomp that resulted in the two of them being sent right into the pool.
"Noooooo!" Sunfire exclaimed with a bark as he struggled in Mag's grip to get out of the water. "Oh you baby." Mag said as he swam the two over to the edge and plopped themselves out. Good thing the clothes Mag had chosen were semi-sports gear and were designed to dry fast.

Sqeezing out some of the water Mag made his way over to Misty as Sunfire sulked a little near the edge before following along. "Thanks for the awesome battle. I can say I thought I'd have to use another pokemon before it was over though." Mag said as he accepted the prizes. "I'd be glad to use that healing machine." Mag added recalling Sunfire and preparing his other pokemon.

Kouji looked up and saw a kid around his age behind him. Getting an uneasy feeling Kouji, grew a bit suspicious, but he hid it by smiling. "Not for a long time, this Tauros, hatched, a couple of months ago, so he's just a younging." Kouji said while petting Dokons head. Looking at Crenu he said "His name is Dokon, and I'm Kouji, and you are?" Kouji asked

Kasiya felt relieved when the Pokemon Center was within their grasp, but not as relieved as Fang probably did. The exhausted Crobat nearly dropped out of the sky, not even landing so much as letting his trainer jump off before he came to rest on the ground, his chest heaving.

"Great job, Fang," Kasiya smiled, giving him a kiss on the forehead. "With more practice, you'll be able to keep up that kind of pace for a long time." She recalled him into his Pokeball, looking around the city of Goldenrod. "I don't think he's going to be ready to go anywhere for a while," Kasiya admitted ruefully. "Even with healing at the Pokemon Center."

"The name is Crenu. Allow me to help you out my good sir and take that beast off of your hands for you. You'd be better off with something smaller and more tame right now." He eyed the taurose curiously and grinned, his hand ready to reach for a pokeball if need be.
