JoVo TuffGhost So? That doesn't make it okay. I certainly wouldn't say that makes it ethically wrong.Since when do things have to be ethically wrong to be problematic? There's nothing ethically wrong with bumping, but it's prohibited all the same. Jovo You end with two prepositions instead of one, and it sounds better. Given that example, don't you mean two instead of none? JoVo TuffGhost Dude, that sounds like rationalized bullshit to me. It may, but that is because you're still not grasping the larger significance of all of this. Come on, you were laying it on a little thick. If you really hope to accomplish something, you're being rather obtuse. JoVo TuffGhost Can you honestly say that you think he knows what you're saying about him? If so, why do you make such a concerted effort to use elaborate (even moreso than usual) words and sentence structure? Because I am deliberately trying to hide them, but he has surprised me before, and he will certainly surprise me again. Hide them? What them? JoVo Kapo doesn't understand what we say a lot of the time. I don't know. I rather think he gets most of it,( or would with a little effort,) excepting your deliberately obfuscated adumbrated meanings. JoVo I feel dirty. I just used the word "get" to mean "understand." crying *pat* There, there. rolleyes JoVo Even when the sentences are not complete, I have no problem understanding them. exclaim So please explain. What tricks, what's hard, what's stuff? It's more than just second-language issues. JoVo Kaporie, in contrast, uses such simple language that the words are very easy to recognize and his meaning generally easy to digest. I find some of the words he uses not to be easy to recognize at all. And some of those tight-packed, grammar-free paragraphs are unpalatable. I can't swallow them, let alone digest them. JoVo When it isn't, he can be asked, and he has always made every effort to clarify. Often, his lack of clarity comes from his inexperience with the language (he is a foreigner), but he has shown a marked willingness to better himself. I'd like to see a little more of this. JoVo To ban him would be detrimental to him, and a blow to everyone here who believes, as I do, that he adds something very pleasant to the guild. I said I don't want to. JoVo There are people here, who have posted on this very page, that use higher language poorly, probably because they think they have to in order for us to find them deserving of any modicum of respect, and thus confuse their meaning. Quite a silly notion, most of our best members speak simply( yet clearly enough to be understood). Too soon. Lighten up.

Vague I'd like to see a little more of this. I think we will continue to see it, and--this leads us to the beginning of this argument--we need not threaten him with expulsion from the guild to do so. I don't think you'll have to, if you're patient with him. Nios At first I found this slightly funny. Now I find it kind of upsetting. neutral It should have stayed that way. Sorry, Nios.

I'm sorry. Not for what I said, but that other people were dragged into it. I'm sorry it upset the guild. I'm sorry Kaporie's name was tossed around so much and I'm sorry that he was talked about in such a mechanical way. I apologize to him for any hurt feelings.
I don't take back anything I said.

Well that was uhm... entertaining to read through. Yes, I'll go with that. The reason why I decided to post is not actually the extended and convoluted english debate. I am actually just in a really upset mood, and feel the need to rant. I'm irrationally angry at everyone and I want a boyfriend, and I only seem to meet jerks or people that I don't think I can even imagine dating without harming physically. I think it must be that time in my hormone cycle where I just want people to die.
Honestly, I'm giving out the choices of cake or Stabbity Death. And I'm fresh out of cake.

Waaaaaaah.
Zhoashen, don't kill people; it's a bad idea. I'm sorry, that sounds awful. Anything you want to talk about with us? sad *hug*
Everyone else, maybe we should just make a grammer thread? No, I'm serious.
Kaporie, do you have Microsoft Word or anything similar? Something with an English spell-check? Because if you did you could just copy/paste to/from there to check your spelling. It wouldn't catch everything, but it would help, I think. It's something I do rather frequently, myself. I have attrocious spelling.

You are writing a lot better Kaporie. You seem to have improved a lot by making an effort. Do you find Jack's corrections helpful?

Astri Waaaaaaah. Zhoashen, don't kill people; it's a bad idea. I'm sorry, that sounds awful. Anything you want to talk about with us? sad *hug* Thanks Astri, but sometimes I just get like that. It doesn't help that the kendo get togethors I have been going too this summer have fallen through the last two times. I really enjoy my theraputic thwapping, and I haven't managed to get to the gym this whole last week to burn off any of the extra tension. So, I'll definatly be doing that today. Yeah this guy I just met is fun to hang out with and good looking but I don't think Icould date him. Especially right now he is going through a "my parents want me to be a doctor and I don't want to be a doctor" conflict. I managed to pop in at about the cumulation of it, and I have been playing helpfull advisor which doesn't bother me in and of itself. However thats the role I always seem to take up and I'm getting a little fed up and sick with it. I'll probably just swear off ever finding anybody and go back to just doing what I'm doing and not think about it. Astri Everyone else, maybe we should just make a grammer thread? No, I'm serious. That actually sounds like a good idea to me. The topic comes up enough that it might as well have a place to go so people can seek it out or avoid it if necessary. Asti Kaporie, do you have Microsoft Word or anything similar? Something with an English spell-check? Because if you did you could just copy/paste to/from there to check your spelling. Last night I went to my room for bed, and I somehow got it in my head that I needed to shape up again.
Which, isn't neccassarily a bad idea, but this is me we're talking about. I'm lazy and have no stamina. Me? Of my own free will? Do my own conditioning? Ha!
Well, reminscent of old Kendo days, I got out my heavier, broken fake katana and held that at the edge with ly left(submissive) hand for three minutes. with one minute rests in between. My arm's sore now, which is good, I guess.
Then I decided - hey, this is where it gets me- I needed to do sit-ups. So I say, Okay. here's my goal. 30 situps. You have no idea how bad I am at this stuff. And it's not because I'm a girl, either. It's because I have so little patience for bodily things it's painful. No, really.
So I do thirty sit-ups. I managed to go all the way to twenty without getting too tired, which I guess is a plus. I think the normal sit up limit for kendo was 40 or 50..Not sure, it's been a long time and I know I never got to the goal in class anyway.
So get this, after sit-ups, or, I'm probably messing the order up, it was like 1am, afterall. I do that thing that's like a pushup but you stay up the whole time for a whole minute. That has always been one of my tough things.
Except the one minute seemed fairly easy. I wasn't sure if that was because I was looking at the seconds pass, so I had something to go on, or if it was because Pedro(the kendo teacher from long a go) made us do it for two minutes. Maybe it's kind of both.
Regardless, then I say, blah, I should do push-ups. I suck at push-ups so badly. I'm such a girl when it comes to that. One of my private wishes was to be able to do a one-handed pushup one day, but I don't think I'll ever get that far, considering I could only do one real pushup last night, Or this morning. Whatever.
I have a pride issue. All those htings girls "Can't" do, or the special things made so girls "can" do stuff(the knees on the ground pushup, for example) I refuse to allow myself to succumb to.
So I set a low goal. 20 pushups. It shouldn't be that bad, right?
Haha. What a silly idea. So a real pushup is pretty much all the way on the ground and then all the way back up. I did three before the distance between my stomach and and the floor grew dramatically. It was sad. Because after ~18 "wannabe pushup"s, I was about ready to die.
I was really sore after that, and I knew I was no where near my limit, as I have been pushed a hell of a lot farther by other people before. But I figured that was enough or I seriously wouldn't be able to sleep.
I remember not sleeping because, of all the conditioning expierences I've had, it always hurts too much to lie down straight, or to breathe. So you can't fall asleep. And when you wake up you're too tired, or in too much pain to move.
Lesson in short, I'm way out of shape and I suck at exercising. But I already knew that, I guess.

I really can't stand being cooped up in this house. But I don't want to leave incase I get call saying I'm actually hired by Bluenotes. I have another interview on Saturday. I'll be ok to leave the house on Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately I already do have plans for those two days.
I have to stay home Monday and Tuesday incase I actually get hired by Pets Unlimited. Then I'll probably have to stay home on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for the other Bluenotes location incase I actually get hired there. Of course it's highly unlikely that I'll be hired anywhere's. gonk
