Oh my gosh two hive tyrants with wings and 2+ armour is that even allowed.

hate to break it to ya, but its not... i cant remember the exact wording, and im not 100% sure where my codex is, but i remember thinking "i want that" and noticed a little wording thinger... basically, it says you can pick ONE of the following, wings, shell, or something else. kinda blows, but whatever, anything thats gonna be shooting at a tyrant that mean will be shooting to kill with AP 1-2 weapons. so, its kinda useless to spend those 40 points on something thats gonna get shot down regardless

page 86, under hive tyrant.
above the choices it reads: "Take one of the following:"
and then lists the three choices.

I don't think that's the proper term for what's going on here.

The main army threads are free to be revived at any time. We were merely commenting on the replies rather late arrival, way past its original point of discussion.

Anyone having trouble with their hive guard's survivability?
It seems unless they are camping cover they are dead turn 2.
they are my integral light transport poppers (rhinos, raiders, trukks, and the like) and they really aren't doing much beyond getting Ap'd to death.

any player worth its salt will try to kill them ASAP... maybe trying to take out enemy concentrations of firepower early with winged tyrant and hormagaunts will help? At the very least it will force enemy to make targetting choices...

Yea, been considering the winged tyrant actually.
I have always fielded Hormas, and now they don't disappoint me like they used to.
prolly gonna take out my warrior alpha and put in the winged tyrant, as most of my list deep strike anyways.
+1 to reserve rolls, I needs them.
Perhaps i should re-do my list and submit it to the list thread...

The new codex is heavy on upgrades than can limit the number of models you can field by sheer point cost. Try limiting your upgrades, doing some squads differently with minimum equipment so that they fulfill different roles without costing too much...? I do agree that the new codex is much more Nidzilla-friendly than the horde it's supposed to be.

Okay, I haven't looked through my new Nid codex too much, but I did get a box of my old Warhammer stuff from before I moved, which included my Tyranid battleforce. What do you guys recommend for kitting out a Carnifex with?

Get a bunch of small rare earth magnets and magnetize all parts.

This. A hundred times this. One of my regular opponents back home has done this with all his Tyranid monstrous creatures, even going as far as magnetizing all Carnifex heads. You know, just in case. sweatdrop
