She pouted, but the warm embrace of her mother pulling her in gentle hugs calm what would be a tantrum in the making. "Okay mommy, I'll wait." She replied, till then she was stuck with wondered what kind of weapon she'd get in the future.

Eric however, could not understand why the females of this family were so hellbent on being warriors. It was in the blood somewhere, surely that had to be the answer. They told the girls they could be anything, and this is what they wanted to do.

Elric sniffed the air, he knew that aroma well. "Mina, were you making pie today? Think I can stay for dinner? It's a long way up there." He said in a hungered tone.

"Elric, even if she said no, just take the portal home. No need for the scenic route" Answered Eric.

Her father patted her on the head, her brother Skylar doing the same in play. "Got to keep the agreement, Nina. No buts about it." That being said, he turned around and headed inside and asked Gena to follow him. She skipped along behind her father.

"Hey, I like good food, okay? Kinda wished the Shadow Dusts stopped trying to steal my meals though. I swear it targets me as if it knows me." Muttered Elric, he hated Shadow Dusts with a passion. If he saw another it would be too soon. Seeing the others going into the family's home, he followed suit.

"Huh! That I can easily believe. Dad did mention he had some trouble with them before, now that I think about it. But he's said that it never happened as often to him as it does to me. They stopped bothering long before he was my age." Explained Elric.

Once inside, Gena insisted on helping Nina with dinner. Unlike her older sister, she had a better handle on cooking.

"Awesome!" Cheered Gena, she wasted no time in assisting her big sis with the dinner. It turned out to be a lovely meal, Elric was Nina's biggest critic and even he had no complaints. Afterwards, Ecalena and her son Irvin had came over to speak with them. She had everyone sit down while she and Irvin spoke.

"So, you all understand right? I'm sure you've noticed the severity of environmental disasters. This doesn't have to do with the merging of the worlds, but more so of the crystal rings." Said Eca, turning to her son he nodded his head and turned on a holographic projector. With it, the rings appeared in images in the middle of the room.

"Mom has learned something very important, we need these rings in order to survive, literally. We as a race are made up of .1% crystal, the birthmarks on our cheeks specifically indicate which and gives us our affinity for the corresponding element.

"It means if we don't do something about this soon, we're going to all either a, die by elemental deaths b, turn to stone."

"Turn, to stone? How?" Asked Elric he didn't understand at all. Irvin sighed. "Were you not paying attention, we are going to end up like the crystals too. The Crystals give off invisible energy fields that keep us alive. These fields have been gone for a long time, we need them and fast."

"This doesn't sound good in either option. Okay then, what do we do?"

Eco gave a nervous laugh. "It's simple, we find the crystals and put them back in their temples. The temples were a kind of recharging dock, but there's another problem there. Only one of us here can even enter the alters still." It was then she pointed to Nina.

Eca blinked her eyes, turning to Eric and Mina. "I was, unaware that you told her of her origins." She then turned to her godchild. "Well, yes Nina, that is why. You see, you not only 98% Crystal, but you're 98% all of the crystal types. You have a high concentration that still usable, which means you can get through the forcefields." She explained to her.

"I'm...out of the loop here, whats' this about?" Asked Elric, he was uniformed to Nina's origins.

"I wanna hear!" Whined Gena. She flailed her arms in protest. Why did her parents keep so much from her?

"She's uh what? Really?" Elric turned to his cousin. "Well, that explains a lot."

"Made of Crystal she is, yeah. I suppose now is as good of a time as any to explain. Nina, you were an experiment that a doctor named Arteria Stassin developed. You were to be a magic booster of sorts, but became a life of your own and to save you and your mother, she inserted to you into Mina. Little did we know you'd be such beautiful woman, taking both from your mom and dad. I uh, don't need to explain how that happened now do I?"

Eric blushed along with his wife. "No, no, we don't. She gets it. Nina, I'm sorry that we never told you. We always meant to, but only when we thought you could take it. You were never an experiment in your mother's eyes, you were baby from the very beginning. A very special one."
