Andarien wasn't sure how this was going to end up, but he slid his arms into the holes in the vest and pulled it up over his shoulders. Part of the shirt shoulders got bunched up underneath the vest, but he reached up to smooth it all out.
"Ready," he said, holding the two sides of the vest together to make it easier for Helen to button.

Helen buttoned up the vest, and once more checked to make sure it wasn't too constraining. He did forget how conservative the people who originally wore this style were.
Then he took the necktie and tied it around Andarien's neck.
"The last bit goes around your upper arm, I think it is a preference thing as to which arm you choose."

Andarien stared at the arm band for a moment, then shrugged and slipped it onto his right arm. He played with the sleeve of the shirt a bit so that it was still kind of loose on both sides of the band, then turned to Helen again.
"And that thing?" he asked, nodding at the hat. "Wait, let me put my goggles on, first."
He'd forgotten them in the sleepiness of before breakfast, and now he picked them up off his bed and pulled them over his head. He had adjusted them for his new size the night before, so they fit him properly already, and it took him only a few seconds to pull the lenses over his eyes. "There, ready."

"And the finishing touch," Helen murmured as he placed the hat on Andarien's head, "You look quite dashing."
It acutally wasn't that bad, he would have to re-do the pants, but it wasn't as bad as he had feared it might be.

Andarien blushed slightly, but he was grinning widely. Aside from the tight pants, it was very comfortable, and he felt really good.
"I wish I could see myself," he murmured wistfully, trying to examine himself but failing.

"I'm sure there's a mirror in the bathroom," Helen offered, "It's not a full length mirror, but you would at least be able to see how you look from the top up."
He also wanted to make sure that Andarien would like what he is wearing as well.

"Okay!" Andarien beamed. "Thanks!"
He took one step towards the door, then paused and looked back at his uncle. "What about shoes?" he asked. "I don't want to get the socks all dirty ..."

"Sorry," Helen chuckled.
He reached down from where he had set down a pair of shoes before.
"They're right here, but make sure if they fit first, if they don't... well you'll have to go in socks or take them off."

Andarien sat down again, sucking in his belly as he did so so that it didn't feel quite so tight.
"What strange shoes," he mused, putting one of them next to his foot to see if it would fit. When he lined up the heel of the shoe with his own heel, his toes went just a bit past the tip of the shoe.
He frowned with disappointment. "Too small," he sighed. "That's too bad."
He held the shoes up to Helen again. "Sorry."

"Don't be, you just grew more than I had expected, I can get some new shoes."
Helen was sure if he made a quick stop into a different shop he could get the shoes he needed instead of ordering them like he had done this pair.

"Okay." Andarien wished he could have some shoes right away, but he knew it wouldn't be good to have shoes that were too small on him.
He headed off to the washroom to check himself over in the mirror. He walked; as excited as he was to see himself in his new clothes, he didn't trust himself to run yet.

Helen pulled out a notebook while Andarien was heading to the washroom to jot down a few notes. He also pulled out a measuring tape because he was going to have to measure Andarien's legs again.
"Tell me what you think!" Helen called out.

Andarien was back very quickly, and his eyes were bright with excitement. "I love it!" he beamed. "Thanks! I think it's even better than you showed us on your tablet!"
He fidgeted a bit, jamming his thumbs into the rim of his pants and pushing out slightly. "At least ... once it all fits right, it will be," he amended.

Helen chuckled at this and nodded at that.
"I'll try and get a pair of pants to you as soon as possible, at least before the day is out. I can't say the same for the shoes, they probably won't come until tomorrow. I know it's cutting it close but it can't be helped."
Really, out of all the things that Andarien might have to replace it probably will be the shoes since they would be traveling a lot.

"Well, if we go to Tor Karad first, then I can probably go barefoot until I get some shoes, if you don't get them before we leave," Andarien assured Helen. "But if we go to the Borderlands that might be a problem because Nana says it might be winter or something when we get there and then it will be too cold."
Suddenly he realized that, worse come to worse, he could probably borrow something from someone. After all, he'd been wearing his father's shirt so far that day, and he'd worn Remiel's clothes before, the last time he'd grown ...
"I could borrow from someone too," he told Helen. "Who else here is my size?"
