Xiu's eyes had begun to flutter shut--tired, she was so tired--but they opened when Vaith suddenly spoke. It looked like bringing home Red's remains would be far more difficult than she thought, considering how very delicate the pieces seemed to be. She shifted her head slightly so that she could look down at the piles of ash. "Maybe we can...bring home some of her ashes?" In what, though? Well, most of her skirt was already ruined, and she had a pair of shorts on underneath anyways. Perhaps, if she tore away at the burnt cloth, a pouch could be made to carry some of the ashes home.
She made to rip at her skirt, but to her surprise, Junko suddenly slid away. Dropping her hand into her lap, the baku peered up at her in confusion, her brows drawing together. "...? Junko?" Raising her head, Xiu looked between Junko retreating figure and the reaper who was still kneeling beside her.
"S-should I...?" The baku wasn't sure whether to go after her or let her be alone for a little while. This field trip had taken a toll on everyone.

"I...didn't want you to come," Barth said, "Not really. I thought- I thought everyone would be headed home, after the run in with the humans. And since I was the only one left...I would have preferred you safe instead of- but you did find me."

Christof's head jerked over to positively glower at the Sloth Demon, nostrils flaring. His hand movements were jerky and pointed as he signed, "Don't-be-stupid," He used the variant of the motion that involved pretending to knock on his head, perhaps a bit more forcefully than necessary, "I-am-Igor. Built-to-protect-Master. Come-home-with-Master-or-don't-come-home-at-all." The fire died a little after this proclamation, and he sagged to stare at the satchel in his lap. His hands were more timid, now, signing in front of him, "Wouldn't-be-the-same-without-you."

Mandy hesitated for a moment, she wanted to be useful and carrying the ghoul out was her way but.... she could admit West was the more practical choice. "Yeah, thanks." Mandy unslung Danny from around her, holding her out as best as she could for West to take. A brief flicker of a smile came to Mandy's face as this reminded her of Christmas, they'd been Barths Pack Mules then and now they where Danny's. Heh. "Do you need help with anything...?" Mandy's voice was quiet so that no one else could hear her offering. ((Chimarii has given smerdle permission to carry Danny out of here!))

There was no telling how long it was there. For one moment, there was nothing. Then in the blink of an eye two doors appeared. Between each door was a familiar statue: a Fu Dog. But only one; the other statue was broken, shattered and gone leaving only the pedestal it once stood on. The Fu Dog said nothing. It didn't even move at all. It was, however, possible to leave this place once at for all depending on what door was picked. Is it finally over...? Quote: Players can now travel between the Couch Domain and Space Domain. In addition, the exit to the house has appeared; students can now return to Halloween. If you leave, you cannot return to the house. Please be sure that you have finished everything you wished to do in the house before posting in the exit thread. If you are RPing with someone, please make sure that ALL parties wish to go home before GMing their character through a door with their consent. To exit the house, please proceed here. Boos may not exit the house, but you're welcome to check out the Space domain!

Disturbed by their footsteps, the ashes of Red rose and swirled about them briefly before settling down again. It wasn't the lively, purposeful movement of Fear. It was lifeless, dead. If the students had not witnessed what befell their teacher, if the hollow remains weren't there, it would be impossible to differ it from the ashes left behind by a fire. Most of what was Red had been decimated, turned into ash. Aside from her massive skull, a few flat pieces of the back plate-like spikes on her back and black horns were still (somewhat) intact. Even though students had worked hard to break off a part of her remains as a memento, what they had done was nothing compared to the massive amount of damage the enraged Death Hunter had caused earlier. As the students paid their respects, there were two things that could be noticed immediately: 1) Red was hollow. Her horns, the skull -- even the backplates had an unnatural hollowness to them. The inside of these hollowed areas was slick, smooth to the touch. This is where the fires of her Fear and Insanity burned, wasn't it? 2) On top of her skull, some students have left their pins. Some were pushed down into grooves, dents made from the battle earlier. They gave the skull a bit of color within the greyscale area her remains rested in; a final token, a final honor to her memory. Quote: SO YOU WANT A TROPHY?Red's skull is solid stone. It's not going to be easy to grab a piece. And given that the skull belonged to a 30-foot tall behemoth, it's impossible to move. The skull is large enough that Red could have easily eaten someone in one bite. That's how big we're talking about here. If you have your heart set on collecting a piece, it looks like you'll need to break a piece off. To do so: Quote: You have your choice of skull, horn, or back plate. The only difference is in the color: Horns: Black Skull: Blackish-Grey (not quite black, but light enough to not really be grey either) Back plate: Whiteish-grey. Not pure white, but certainly lighter than the skull. You must attack it (Y1s 2d6, Y2s 2d8, Horsemen 2d10). And hit it three times in a row. If you miss, it means you hit it too hard and turned it into ash. Upon missing, the piece you were trying to get has broken off; you must try again from the start. You have three chances. After that, please cease and let your teacher rest in peace.

(( Entering from Couch domain)) Hel stumbled back onto the battlefield from one of the two doors that appeared her expression wide and wild as she tried to absorb all that was before her. Oh…it was…more heart wrenching in person. The valkyrie paused, sucking in a breath as she just surveyed what remained of Professor Red, along with all the students who were still lingering and…taking home trophies? Ah… She caught sight of Shun and Mitsu though, and wasted no time and running over to meet them. “ Friends…” She called out. “ I’m so relieved to see that you’re both in one piece…”

Roch stepped out of the door, not caring that he was wearing only a pair of boxers, and some glitter in his hair, not caring that he looked like crap--and had a gold star on his chest (okay, that sort of bothered him, but he'd ignore it for now.)
He was finally here. He was finally able to help them mourn. But now, standing there in the ruins of a war he hadn't been there to fight, he felt a little unwelcome...
This hadn't been his fight.

"Yes," Barth said, at the motion not to be stupid. He leaned back against Christof, feeling himself fading again. He hurt. He was covered in soot, and dressed only in withered thorns.
"After I saw you I realized I...should never have thought you'd..." his eyes were already closing again, although the nearby thorns showed no sign of wilting. "...leave me."
He was asleep.

((Entering from Couch))Clink Clink Clink. Mot's spurs echo'd in the now silent canyon side. The noise of battle was gone, replaced with grief. He headed straight toward the giant skull sitting among a ruin of ashes, surrounded by students. The closer he got, he realized it had some odd colors trickled along its surface. Pins of students. A tribute to keep Red company in the empty place. A lump formed in Mot's throat as he stopped, looking down at the monument. Such a horrid death she had fallen to. Fought so hard for them, the students. Struggled with so much pain of transforming into an abomination. Mot inhaled sharply, furrowing his brows. The hat-less cowboil held out his fist, concentrating his Fear into a small form. He too wanted to give something to his Professor. Gently, he placed his own emblem.

Sammy wasn't sure when it happened, but sometime after talking with Remi, Amrita, and Shehk, she had slumped down against a piece of Red, it was a claw easily able to pick her up like a rag doll. The hollow piece of stone kept the ghoul upright though her eyes where shut.
Was this what it was like to sleep, to really sleep?
Sure she sometimes closed her eyes and just let her body fall still, but she was still awake, her brain constantly humming along on FEAR, but after the battle, the crying, the loss of it all and time spent outside of Halloween?
Her body couldn't handle it. So she slept, or as close to it as she could. Her body running on the bare edges of consciousnesses. Suddenly someone was here, Hel stumbled out one of the doors causing the Ghoul to blink and look up. The dogs where back, though one was now shattered.
Slowly she pressed herself up wincing, she could feel the burns both fire and liquid, along her body, slowly she took everything in again, noticing the collection of pins embedded in Red's skull. Slowly she walked over squeezing her hand for a moment focusing what little FEAR she had left to summon the small pin. Gently she wedged it into another crack on the head before looking at the doors.
"Which one... goes home?"

Christof stared quietly down at his Master's quiet, sleeping form. For once, he had no inclination to wake him. Instead, he gently gathered himself up, scooping Barth's frail, thin form up as gently as he could before glancing around to see if Calder had made it. And the first years... he needed to find Freya and Herryk. if he returned without them... well, it would look very irresponsible on his part. Last he had seen them was out in the battle field. And... in the madness of that rainbow hell. Hopefully Herryk had kept track of the poor loopy winged ghoul. He HAD warned them. The door was there, shining where it hadn't been before. It was time to go. "HURRRR!" He caught sight of poor Calder's bare form, giving him as loud a grunt as he could muster. Nothing would wake the Sloth once he passed a certain point,he wasn't too worried, but dropped his voice down as quick as he could.

[Entering from couch.]
Nobody else mattered.
She didn't hear anyone, didn't see anyone - only those she wished to see. She had watched her friends on the monitors in that stupid, stupid room - they were the only ones that mattered. While everyone was busy with who knows what, she had been worrying and fretting - would it be better for her friends to have died? It would be less painful, right? Or was it worse to watch things unfold from so far away, helpless and dead? Maybe both options were equally bad?
"AMRITA. AMRITA AMRITA," She screamed, her voice laced with anxiousness and worry for the one person she could count on to remember, her eyes wide open as she scanned the area, "AMRI-" It didn't take long for her to spot the ghoul, looking so injured that when Lizzy ran over to wrap her up into a hug, she almost expected her to burst into FEAR particles, right there in her arms.
"Amrita..." She whispered, choking up as she worked to not burst into tears again and become a sobbing idiot, "I saw everything... The Professor..." At this, she begrugingly released her friend to glance at the skull, the colorful student pins stinking out against the dull color of the bone.
Nobody else mattered.
She walked over to the skull and knelt down on front of it. Her student pin was taken out from her skirt pocket. She concentrated, and it split into two; she had only given her pin to people she knew she could trust. There was really only one other person she had on that list right now, and she was sick with worry at where Tess could be, but... Professor Red more than just deserved this little gift.
"Thank you Professor," She brought her pin to her chest, where her heart was, and then placed it on the skull, wiping away at the fresh tears that had pooled in her eyes, "Death is... Never a good thing, but your death... Thank you for protecting us to the very end. I'll train hard, and I'll never forget you. Promise."

More people were entering from yet another space. Shehk watched for a moment as several people made their way from this strange new portal..and yet.... she was tired. Sammy was alright, and...she'd seen Toby. But where had Nukpana been? She hadn't seen him.
Would he be coming in with these new people? Perhaps. Perhaps he would. Part of her wanted to wait for him, but another part of her was tired, worn even. Her body ached and as it was...no. She would wait for him. She stood firm, the look on her face worn, creases of stress magnified by the ash and blood smeared across her face. She still held her trophy against her chest and waited.
"Sammy...if you need to go back, go...I'm going to wait. We left together, I am going to make sure we...we all make it home together too.." she sniffled once, as though the idea that...maybe...just maybe Nukpana wouldn't be coming out of -this- portal either had struck her and it terrified the living s**t out of her.
======
It seemed the only of the four to fall would also make his appearance, looking actually better than he had when he left. Somehow being 'dead' hadn't completely decimated him. He didn't expect to greet anybody, simply watching the skull of the fallen Red with a certain amount of...uncertainty. There was a part of him that expected it to still spring forth to life, and yet it didn't move. It was a strange thing, really.
Certainly Invictus had seen death before. Unlike the other horsemen, Invictus had nurtured certain relationships to his benefit and well..seeing humans pass on had been an interesting thing to watch that a member of the halloween race would never experience. Not like this.
It was an interesting thing, actually.
Part of him was fascinated by it, and yet...
"Nobody deserves to be stilled by a hunter. Nobody." he said, perhaps to himself, and yet the concreteness of the death seemed..well, Aisa would probably have a better grasp of an opinion on it.

Mitsu had been huddled close to Shun for comfort, taking what little she could get from the situation. The sounds of sorrow and mourning were all around them and she wasn't sure if she should try to comfort or stay where she was.
A familiar voice caught her attention and Mitsu peeked up from her position by Shun to see....Hel and Mot.... Hel and Mot were here. They were really here. While her expression didn't change much the tears began to well up in her eyes at long last. She had been trying so hard not to cry and finally the build up was to much. As soon as the first few tears cascaded down her cheeks there was no stopping it. She began to sob as she held a hand out toward the two her other hand still holding onto Shun to let him know she wasn't going to leave him. She had her friends back, they hadn't disappeared.
