"Ugh..It was not normal in any way! You don't ask people that! Do you want to be looked at badly by everyone you meet? Leave sexual questions out of things. That's. Not. How. You. Question. People!! " Hiyori was fully ready to abandon this whole thing if she embarrassed her anymore! She was far to intelligent to be dragged into such a silly thing! Her attempts to make her follow along was surprisingly a no go, as she resisted her pretty well. Sure, Hiyori wasn't all that physically strong, but still! "...Oh, you're in trouble now, princess...." Hiyori couldn't help but grin, honestly, she was surprised it took that long for him to figure out. She was so very obvious, all but that white hair of hers! It didn't take a lot to connect the dots! "..!? " To bad for Hiyori, she was now the victim to be dragged along with the speedy elf as she fled the scene like the guilty little elf she was!

"..."
"..."
"..." While Hiyori and Annette were off on their very important little adventure, the two remaining sat at the beach across from each other, both focusing on their riveting game of chess. Astrid sat still, as Reiner had a hand to his chin, pondering. And at long last, he moved a Knight piece. "...Check."
"...Oh, you're good." Astrid responded calmly. "I never took you for a capable strategist behind that cheerful personality."
"Well, I learned from the best!"
"...Not good enough though." Astrid quickly reached down, moving her Queen piece and seizing Reiner's Knight. "Checkmate."
"...Ah, you were expecting that, weren't you! Oh, you're good... I'll have to concede this time, but next time-"
"UGHHHHHHHHH-" Came the so lovely voice of the Forest Princess as she barreled through their chessboard, kicking it into pieces uncaringly as she charged back onto the scene. "NO ONE ON THIS ISLAND HAS ANY TASTE!!!" She let out in despair, collapsing down to her hands and knees in utter defeat.
"...So, how did the contest go?"
"UGHHHHHHH..."
"Sounds like Hiyori dominated you. Like literally everyone knew she would." Poor Annette would never catch a break, would she? If she ever got a girlfriend, she'd be lucky if she didn't leave her to try to get Hiyori the first time she saw her!

"Aww, you shouldn't be such a sore loser, though you probably should think about seeking anger management help! " The oh-so-proud Hiyori would stop there at the scene of destruction, the poor, poor chess board. The smile on her face hadn't quite disappeared since their very last victim was questioned. "Oh, Reiner, should I say it? .." She put a hand to her chest, pointing at herself with her head high and that snarky little attitude coming into play. "I don't pick fights I can't win.." She grinned, giggling in amusement with herself. She did say she wouldn't lose this 'fight', and well, she was right! So of course she couldn't resist it!

"...That's it!!}" Annette shouted, shooting to her knees an turning on her heel. ...A little too quickly. "Wuuuh- wAAAARGH!" She waved her arms frantically to stabilize herself, but ended up falling down into the sand, letting out an embarrassed and irritated groan. Quickly getting back to her feet with slightly warm cheeks, she cleared her throat loudly. "Th-that's it!" She repeated, trying to pretend that didn't just happen. "I'm becoming a Reaper!!" She declared, putting her hands on her hips. "Oh, are you getting scared now, little-miss-perfect?! You should!" She marched right up to Hiyori, as if she was intimidating at all. "That's right! I'm EVIL now! You've pushed me too far this time! I'm evil and this is my tragic backstory! And once I'm a Reaper, I'm going to make you my slave! How hot can you possibly look in chains, hmm???" Well, arguably even more so, to certain people... probably including Annette, she was just a little too ditzy to realize it in the moment. "You'll regret challenging me when you're calling me Master Annette! Ha, ha, ha! Hahaha..." She raised her arms level to her chest with her palms upwards, throwing her head back. "MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" At long last, she had a use for her evil laugh which she had practiced so much during childhood! She nailed it! Hiyori must be utterly terrified right now!
"...Why, so everyone can talk about how your slave is way hotter than you are?"
That killed her haughty evilness in a sudden jolt. "...Wha-! UGHHHHHHHHHH!!" Well, there went all her energy again, as she just collapsed down to her hands and knees in utter defeat once again! This time, perhaps fittingly, she took her defeated posture right there before Hiyori. Perhaps that's where she belonged, after dragging her all over the island to try to prove her superiority, only to be utterly destroyed by her instead! This is where she belonged... for now. Until she made Hiyori her slave, of course!

Elsewhere on the island, a crack in the sky formed very suddenly, the eerie, darkly presence of straight up evil pouring out of the growing crack in the sky, very obvious to most as a portal. This particular portal was in no connection to the Tear of World, but it did hold a familiar magic some of them there might actually know, along with a even more familiar presence only certain Serenitians would know. But it wasn't likely those things that would catch the attention of anyone that might be in the area, it was the dozen's and dozen's of demonic monsters pouring of of the portal and scattering for the island!
"...No no no nooooooo!!" There was a voice, but no one actually visible yet! What next would stand out, in the middle of that portal a massive purple, pink glowing magical rune appeared suddenly, followed by magical blades all forming along the circle of the rune, and shooting out like bullets towards the escaping demons! Failure she was, but SOMETIMES, she could get something right! Though, it didn't go exactly that well, she didn't intend to allow anything to escape and enter the peaceful little island, but what those on the island wouldn't know was the terrifying amount of these demons on the other side! So many she couldn't contain them, it was impossible, even for the most skilled, there was just NO WAY to keep them from using Autumn's own escape route with her. "Hurry, you!! I'm closing it, there's to many of them escaping! " The voice yelled again, and within the next few moments, the source of that voice flew out of the portal, possibly to difficult to fully make out from the height she was at, but it was pretty clear, this girl favored purple, large witchy hats, and flew on a magical broom..

Following not long after Autumn escaped through the portal, was a woman of long rather beautiful two-toned hair, the elegant royal blue tones against the crimson red was quite eye-catching, behind her back were a pair of large angelic crimson wings of pure magic, given her the gift of temporary flight by the help of Autumn's magic. It also made it next to impossible for any new demons escaping from the portal to make it to far past her, their intended target was clearly that island. There were LOTS of places to hide, unfortunate that neither Autumn or Alear here were able to stop all of them from reaching it and flying into the tree's.That first batch was not possible to stop, due to the amount of them, and with both Autumn and Alear trying to escape through the portal, all the while fighting them before they even got through, it wasn't to surprising so many were able to get away.
Using the remaining time she had, which honestly, she had no idea how long the wings would last, Alear would use them to her advantage, flying straight for the closest demons as they continued to pour through the still-open portal, slicing dozens clean in half!
"It's....! Not...! Closing...! " Well, This was one reason to PANIC.She was lucky to get it opened before they met their demise in a demon infested realm, but now? Now she was starting to wonder if that was the best idea. They could have stayed there, fighting until both their strength ran out, and Autumn's magic was drained, rather then risking allowing the portal to a very heavily infested realm of demons to come into this world! What was the better option? .....She kind of enjoyed life, though..
One thing different about these demons, was there ability to teleport instantly to their targets, and just how well they could still see a person despite all the coverage of tree's. It was as though they could detect the persons body heat, and go in for the kill from there. That was exactly what a group of them did, as they seemed to focus their attention to a particular area within the tree's, and before Alear could fully reach them, they were gone! Uh oh..
One unsuspecting soul, just trying to enjoy the peace this wonderful island brought out, would suddenly find himself very surrounded! The group of demons, and their razor sharp long fangs, all focused on the prey in the hot spring! One of them moved in for it's attempted kill, then two, and the rest would soon follow all grouped together, making it even harder for one so not prepared to fight them off!
But they would never quite make it to the one in the water, as a figure came down from the tree's, striking them down in one large swing of her sword. With their focus on him, there guard was completely down, giving them no chance to put up any defenses or even have a chance to cast any of their own spells. They were just down, falling from the sky into halves.
And that wasn't the only thing that hit the ground, as Alear landed gracefully, just at the very moment the magical wings dissipated from her back. Slowly standing tall, and so unintentionally looking...very cool in the process, her ever so long hair flowing in the wind, her sword stabbed into the ground beside her as she turned to the probably very confused one in the water!
And...........it didn't take long for the surprise, shock, and flustering to all hit at once! "E-Ephraim?!? " Her face was completely red, but she couldn't seem to take her eyes off his so well toned, bare chest. It wasn't really until a moment she realized how much she was staring at him, that she finally managed to turn away! This was SO not the time for this, yet somehow in her distraction of seeing Ephraim, she nearly forgot about the invasion going on. "It...couldn't be...! " She...slowly, very slowly, turned her head just a tiny bit, as if trying to get another peek, but this time at his face! She had to be sure! "...Is it really you, Lord Ephraim of Renais?!"

Hiyori didn't even try to hide the amused giggle as Annette's attempt to angrily rush away failed her in the worst way. With a hand to her hip, that smirk turned into an even more amused, evil smile. "..It's fascinating how you have survived so long. I feel for you, Astrid. It's only due to you she still lives, isn't it? " She said as an added attempt to get under Annettes skin. As if Astrid spent her entire life protecting her! Turning now to Annette as she again, got back to her feet, successfully this time! "Oh? Gosh..I'm absolutely terrified.." She said dully, that same smile on her face. "Did you not know how Reapers work? They become slaves for more then just doing chores. So, by saying you would make me your slave, you actually mean to admit i'm just so hot! Reapers only enslave people they find attractive, silly Annette. " She glanced at Reiner, laughing in amusement. "Isn't that right? It seems you have more competition, little elf girl can't admit the obvious truth. Even she finds me hot. " She slipped her arms around his, clinging to him after a moment. "But don't worry..You're the only one for me, my prince! " To just...turn right to Reiner and act cute with him, it had to sting a bit. It was as if she were completely ignoring Annette's cool, oh-so-scary threat! Clearly she took it SO seriously! "He,he..Astrid is smarter then you, Annette. " After a moment, Hiyori would release Reiner, glancing down at the defeated princess as she sat there in the sand on her hands and knees below her. What an amusing sight to see! "Looks like you finally gave up! Now it's time for you to admit I'm the hotter one! "

"I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that.
However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people.
That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be."

Ephraim certainly wasn't about to be caught completely unawares, as the desperate screaming above him was a rather good indication that there was trouble in paradise, as it were. It was lucky--or just good planning--that he was always ready for battle enough to keep Siegmund within arm's reach even while relaxing. With his senses already heightened from the shouting, and his hand already clutching Siegmund's shaft, the instant the demons surrounded him, they found a fight they may not have been expecting. Where they hoped to find a sheep for slaughter, they'd realize they picked a fight with a wolf, as when the first swung for him, he caught its arm and lunged at it savagely, leaping from the spring he had been enjoying and driving Siegmund through its torso with a roll forward after ripping the spear's blade from its body. Upon standing and turning quickly to engage the other apparent demons, he witnessed a... rather incredible feat of martial prowess, as an admittedly beautiful young woman appeared to descend from the heavens and dispatch the rest of the group near-instantly. And... well, she was certainly impressive, wasn't she? As if the attack wasn't impressive enough on its own, Ephraim found himself... a little too enamored with the woman's landing. After that impressive show of skill, for her to then end up looking so amazing afterwards, well, Ephraim couldn't even notice how his heart rate had increased looking at her. Ephraim wasn't one to think on romantic things often, but occasionally moments like this came along to remind him how he was certainly... very heterosexual!
The feeling was apparently mutual to some extent, not that someone as dense as Ephraim would be able to tell. At her surprise, he tilted his head slightly. "Do I...?" Know you? No, obviously not. She had a very distinct appearance. If he had met her, he would certainly remember! He had never seen anyone who looked anything like she did. He glanced down, realizing his torso was still indeed very much exposed. Well, at least he still had everything below the waist on! "...I apologize, this is hardly proper..." Yes, clearly it was bothering her so much after all! That blushing on her face was rather cute, though. As was her turning away. ...Well, admittedly, this woman was just cute in general, wasn't she? "...Er, yes... How do you-?" His words were cut off as a demon appeared there beside Alear, raising an axe and bringing it down towards her. And though she likely could've defended herself, it was in Ephraim's nature to rush in, and that's exactly what he did, positioning himself between her and the demon and blocking the attack. Shoving the demon off, he slammed the bottom of his spear into its gut, before turning it and expertly cleaving diagonally down its torso, sending the demon's carcass down with the others. Looking at her over his shoulder, he spoke. "We can save the introductions for later. What's going on? Do you know how to stop it?"

Astrid's head jerked to the side as both the demons' presence and a very familiar one were felt. She bent down slightly, two large, black, feathery raven wings extending from her back, before she took off like a bullet into the air, her wings flapping to carry her to her destination.
"WAIT!" Annette shouted, getting to her feet. But her sister was long gone. "...We...can't...fly!!" She shouted uselessly after her. Sadly, those pretty wings weren't something both twins got. "Ugh, honestly. She gets wings, I get a stupid fish tail. Which one is more useful?!" Well, hopefully neither Alisa nor Azura were nearby to hear the girl with the elf ears admit she had a mermaid form. The severity of the situation might be shown, though, when a demon appeared next to Hiyori, intending to attack the obviously weakest target! Reiner quickly got in front of her protectively, though neither would have to do much, as an alarmingly powerful vortex of water appeared beneath the demon, raising swiftly and utterly engulfing it. It let out a screech of pain as it was shredded into pieces in seconds in the ripping torrents, a moment later, the water subsiding and leaving... absolutely nothing. "...Hah, is that the best they've got?" Annette said, before motioning the other two. "Come on, let's go!" ...Well, though she may not realize it, THAT was certainly pretty hot. And not exactly something Hiyori could do!
Meanwhile, as several winged demons set their sights on Autumn, they wouldn't get very close before a winged elf gripped her katana, one moment on one side--the next, the other, as the demons fell to literal pieces. Clicking her katana back into her sheath, Astrid glanced at Autumn, her wings flapping to keep her afloat. "How do you end up in these situations?" Poor Autumn. After the moon episode, no one trusted her magic anymore! "Is this giant hole in the sky your doing? Can you fix it?"

How silly, for someone so well skilled, to be thrown off so easily by the shirtless king she held so much respect for! She was hardly prepared for such a unsuspecting moment, and it really did not help that he was so incredibly handsome! ...What was she thinking, and why was she still thinking about that still! She was really having a struggle to keep focused! "N-No..there is no need to apologize! " She finally managed to say, as if! It was the demons that needed to apologize for disrupting his peace, though, that likely wasn't about to happen! "They--?! " Fully getting words out was going to be another challenge, wasn't it? The single armed demon suddenly appearing there catching her off guard, with her mind else where and her focus being severely broken, she may of been lucky Ephraim's reaction was much quicker for this one mistake on her end! By the time she grabbed her sword from the ground, to use to block the demon's axe, it was already quickly dealt with, and it's corpse would join with the others. "..Thank you...Ephraim, I don't normally...need rescuing, I'm sorry! ...Seeing you is just..." She shook her head, nodding. This wasn't the time to talk about this! "..R-right.." If she ever had imagined actually meeting the real Ephraim, she never would have imagined it like this! "I don't know exactly..All I know is, I came upon this...world, several weeks ago. I found myself within a city that was under attack by these creatures...these demons....They were taking innocent people from the cities, and dragging them into a portal to their realm. I met another woman while fighting them off, and together we tried desperately to save the people by following them into the portal, when we got there...." The look on her face fell, it was an image she never wanted to see again. "...I will just say, not a single one taken could be saved...and we ended up stuck within their realm as the portal closed. The one fighting beside me was able to open another portal so that we could escape, and well...it is unfortunate it opened near this island. As we speak, there may still be more pouring out of that portal! The last thing I heard from her was that she couldn't close it. So many had already escaped to the island, I fear this may be a lot worse if we do not hurry. " She tried to look at his face only, and keep her eyes at least focused around him. "I will keep watch for the moment, get yourself ready for battle! " Armor was pretty important in a battle like this, where every single demon was different, with different abilities, he needed to be ready for anything.

"..I hope you never say that in front of your mother! I could tell you for certain, Azura is so proud to have a daughter to share --- !!? " So, maybe this wasn't the time to go into personal discussions, it showed just how battle ready Hiyori's mind was, a total zero. She could only really jump away to put some distance between her and the creepy demon, the thought of punching it, or even kicking it's disgusting body may of been a huge failure in Hiyori's oh-so-brilliant mind. She couldn't be bothered to touch it's ugly body! Lucky for her, she wouldn't have to with Reiner's quick actions, while to both of their surprise, it wasn't him to destroy the demon at all, rather, the noisy, loud elf whom complained seconds ago how so terrible it was she had her mermaid mother's abilities! "..Oh..gosh, that was..actually impressive...And you complained about you're watery gifts? I feel sorry for your enemies! " If it was one thing Annette was really good at, it was her loudneses, sure, but it was also her special gifts in manipulating water. "You win when it comes to fighting and magic.." Well, there may of been thousands of demons pouring from that portal, but hey, as long as Annette was praised a bit, all would be good! She probably needed it, after all SO down she was moments before.
Since her struggle in trying to close the portal, at the very same time she was also having to destroy the demons coming after her, it wasn't to difficult to actually kill them, but the endless amount of them was the real struggle. She couldn't properly focus to close the portal without having to defend herself! But it seemed luck was on it's way, in the form of the raven-haired princess that would soon catch her attention! She couldn't help but watch in awe as she swiftly brought an end to the demons that tried to get close to her. " Ah...the only good thing to happen today! Hello, love.." She playfully winked at her, oh yeah. Such a time to flirt! "Will you keep at this? Help me by destroying anything that get's to close. I can't close the portal and fight them off at the same time..! " Assuming she did as she requested, Autumn would turn back to focus on the portal that still spewed so many demons into this world. "...This isn't all my fault, you know! " She yelled back, she just had to make sure she didn't completely see her as the ultimate failure of the world! Focusing on the portal fully now, a same magical rune would appear against the portal, but it seemed she was struggling even then to keep the magic up, this demon realm was unbelievably powerful, as if it was fighting back against the seal she was attempting to create. They wanted into this world, and it was clear they weren't easily giving up! "Oh god, why isn't it closing even still? I'm doing everything I can!!" She was starting to really worry now, suddenly, she didn't know if she could actually close it!

As she recounted the tale of how she ended up both in that demonic realm and eventually this island, he noticed some familiar tones to what she was referencing that were hard to ignore. "...I don't know if it relates, but we've encountered something similar before. Demonic portals... I'll have to give you the details after, along with your friend." They could all discuss it together after and pool information. He nodded to her last words--he did briefly consider charging off torso exposed, because it seemed they had little time. But they had a moment, at least, and it wouldn't take long. Putting on his shirt, clasping his chest armor back on, and finally putting his gloves back on--though of course, he had kept Solar Brace on as always--he would be battle-ready once again. "All right, miss," He said, walking forward as he fastened his last glove back to his hand, afterwards raising Siegmund with a small flourish spin. "Let's hope someone can manage to close that portal. Meanwhile, we need to mitigate their presence down here and make sure everyone is aware of the situation. Join me, and we'll make quick work of them. ...And perhaps tell me your name while you're at it." It might make giving orders a little easier!

While Annette was no-doubt beaming and/or smug at the praise she received, her sister was meanwhile addressing the obnoxious witch she unfortunately had a crush on. And her first words didn't exactly help her keep her composure, as cleared her throat loudly, trying to hide the color on her cheeks. "Focus!" She said, trying her best to sound irritated. Where did that come from?! Had her sister told her something?! She tried to shake it off--there were bigger things to focus on! "That's what I'm here for." She had come all this way to protect her, obviously. Beginning to slide her blade out of its sheath, she drew it with a flourish, swiping it at blazing speed and sending wave bullets to strike down the incoming demons. "Less talking, more working!" She responded to her next words. She didn't want excuses she could barely believe, she wanted results! And when the results came, they were certainly less than ideal. Astrid let out a soft sigh, turning towards her. "Go hide somewhere!" She barked at her, her wings giving a mighty flap and carrying her straight towards the portal, where she'd begin cleaving through demons with her long katana--remaining there at the mouth of the portal to try to keep as many as she could from coming through.
Autumn would suddenly feel a rather loud SNAP from two fingers right by her ear, likely startling her! And when she turned to look, she'd see a very phoenixy-looking woman exuding a powerful magical aura. "...Hmm, startles easily." She muttered, touching her hat next. "...Interesting..." She grabbed Autumn by the wrist, lifting her hand slightly. Autumn would find herself involuntarily channeling her own magic at nothing in particular, as it seemed Carmen was forcing her to exert her magical power as some sort of demonstration. "...Your weaving ability is rather pedestrian. Do you not keep up with your practice? I would expect better of a daughter of mine." WELL. Literally nothing could be hidden from this woman, could it? This was literally the first time she had ever seen Autumn. "All right, dear. Stand back." She waved her hand, and Autumn would feel herself pushed back slightly, as Carmen took the place she had been prior, floating there. Raising one of her arms, a link of white runes appeared encircling her wrist, while a white sigil emitting the same magic appeared above her palm. "...Defeating an Exemplar, closing demonic portals, and meeting my daughter from some uncertain future. What an eventful day." She said mostly to herself, raising her other hand as the same visible magical power began to gather along it. Clenching her fists slightly, she began to push her arms towards each other--though they didn't do so quickly. There was clearly an opposite force trying to push against her, but as her hands got closer, so too did the portal begin to FORCE itself shut, slowly. Not without lack of trying to fight back, though. But its magic was certainly... very outmatched.

Ephraim's words certainly didn't bring much comfort to hear, she was hoping this was an isolated, rare thing, but with his information, it may not of been so rare as she hoped. "That is very concerning.." She nodded slightly. "From here on, consider me your ally, I will do what I can to protect everyone, and fight together with you in the battles to come..If you will allow me. " As he agreed to quickly better prepare himself, she could feel the warmth to her cheeks returning a bit. Not as severe, but just enough to make it obvious. She was REALLY trying not to watch him slip on his shirt. Though, it probably would help her to stop blushing every time she seen that bare chest of his. "Oh..! ..Forgive my rudeness.." She knew who he was, but she never did tell him who she was, which must of been a little frustrating. Though with all that was going on, it was an honest mistake. Her mind was clearly on many things! . "I'm the Divine Dragon, Alear."

"What makes you think i'm not focused?! " Clearly, she was SO focused. She was a bit of a multi-tasker, and it showed. Sometimes it went great, while other days, not so much. Snapping jokes and flirting at the worst of times was probably one of her more bad days, considering she couldn't seem to close the portal. Autumn may of seemed like the greatest failure of all time, but in reality, her magic was really very powerful, and quite deadly when it came to monsters. It was having so much power that did her in so many times, like her adventures to the moon. Her curiosity really brought her places! Testing the full potential of her abilities was often far to fun for her to resist, and that ended in situations like, well, this. "I'm starting to think you aren't taking me very seriously! " As if she wasn't working hard enough! It was so very unfortunate for Autumn, who was in fact trying her hardest to close that cursed portal, but only ending up looking like a big failure! And in front of Astrid, of course! "Ugh..Right, i'll just go hide in a cave while everyone fights my battles..! " She was dreaming if she really thought she was just going to hide while she fought. "I can fight too, in case you forgot!! " Did no one see her very cool display of magical blades coming down on dozens of demons right at the start? It seemed not!
Raising her hand to begin her next attack, Autumn instead was jolted with surprise by the strangely loud snap right there at her ear! The first thought that came to her mind was some kind of demon with giant massive teeth snapping at her from behind! .........But when she turned so suddenly, what she saw made her gasp in surprise! She was certainly not expecting to see one of her mothers here so soon! "....Hey..! Were under attack by demons, I-I think that gives me rights to being startled easily! " That at least she wasn't wrong about! "..." She blinked, seeming rather confused, it was as if she was inspecting her in some way. It was no joke how smart Carmen was, or how incredible her abilities were, knowing things most people wouldn't know wasn't unlikely for her, and she was starting to guess she already knew exactly who she was. As her wrist was grabbed, and hand lifted by her curious mother there, Autumn was suddenly starting to feel a bit nervous. Her display of her own magical power was so obviously not up to par with Carmen's own, and it never would be, still, her reaction to her forced display of power was not one to be proud of. "..That's harsh..I'm you're daughter! Do you really have to be so meaaaaaan?! " As if that earned her a free be terrible at everything she did card! "If you knew who I was right away, then you should know...I'm better then this! I've destroyed LOTS of enemies in the years! Why, people have cheered my name many times! " She was certainly more concerned about the image her mother had for her! "...We'll..talk about this later..After all the demons are gone! "
With Autumn being 'pushed' back a little, her confidance level was steadily decreasing. She wasn't some weak little lamb, but it did seem everyone, including her dear coolest mother there, had that idea of her. Had the situation not been so dangerous for everyone else, Autumn might of tried to prove herself further, but for now, and knowing she could not close the portal, she would have no choice but to let Carmen do what she had planned.
And as expected, it was barely a struggle at all for her to force the portal to close itself, and likely eventually, disappear completely once it had closed. "...Why does she have to be so cool about everything? My mother is to amazing.. " She thought to herself. "..Okay, let's have a little compitition. You seem to believe i'm weak, so let's see who can find, and kill, all the remaining demons left? In...five minutes! "

"Hee-hee... and what an adorable daughter you are!" Carmen reached up, plucking the hat off her head--and though she may have feared plummeting back to the ground, she would remain exactly where she was, as Carmen reached up, patting her gently on the head. Carmen certainly didn't seem to be taking the situation very seriously, as this seemed the perfect time for affection. But in her defense, how many times did you get to meet your own teenage daughter for the first time? Generally only once! Placing the hat back on her head, she fastened it back the way Autumn had it prior, though she pulled it forward a bit so it drooped comedically over her face. "You're adorable. I hope you have sisters." Carmen already acted like an overprotective mom to Miya their entire life, it seemed like this was barely any adjustment to her! "Your ability to weave isn't defined by what you can destroy, but what you can create. The essence of magic is imposing your will on the world, but you can't just force the world to submit to your will at your level. But let's save the lectures for later, shall we?"
Even though the portal fought desperately to stay open, Carmen's hands clenched further, bending the sigil over her palm and slamming her hands together, shutting the portal with an explosion of energy which shot out in all directions. Enough to make most people stumble, but it was easily dispelled by the barrier around Carmen and her adorable daughter. Turning to said daughter as she began to issue a challenge, she grinned. "Five minutes?" She practically scoffed, before raising her hand, a golden light gathering on her palm before erupting upwards and shooting up at blinding speed. A second of silence followed... before bolts of holy magic screamed down to the ground, one after another, after another, after another--all dropping like lightning from different parts of the sky onto different parts of the island.
Like a sniper, every single bolt struck their marks, utterly smiting literally every single demon remaining on the island with searing, horrific holy pain that destroyed them utterly and burned the ashes in a single visceral instant.
The entire process took about... five seconds.
Lowering her hand to her hip, Carmen tilted her head, that grin still on her face. "Did you want to take count, or should I?" Oh yeah, they really needed to compare numbers after THAT!
The demons are all dead. You can all go back to being incompetent. You're welcome for carrying you all. Carmen's very lovely voice would be heard in everyone's head on the island. She was such a gracious MVP!

"...Huh?! " Well, that was a mighty change Autumn was not expecting to hear. "Well..I can't disagree with that! I am -- ! " She let out a sudden shriek, the moment she felt her hat off her head, Autumn reached over suddenly, grabbing onto her mother as though her entire life depended on it! Oh, how amusing that must have been. It was like a child clinging to a parent, terrified of some scary terrifying monster! In this case, it was Autumn, thinking she would meet an early death as she plummeted to the ground at the loss of her hat. Seconds past, and she was still clinging to her! ....And she didn't feel any different, at all. ...Why was that? She should at least feel some loss of gravity! The confused princess opened her eyes, blinking a few times in horrible confusion, though she still couldn't bring herself to let go. How many times had she been knocked off Broomie, after losing her hat to some enemy? Her fear of losing that hat was to be expected! Instead of feeling it returned, however, she felt the affectionate, playful pats to her head, before a sense of security returned the moment her mother placed it back onto her head! But not before giving it a little tug forward, so that it would droop over her eyes and face a bit. "Ah, moootherrrr.. " She began in a pouty voice, while she fixed her hat to it's proper position that didn't disrupt her vision! "I have a strange feeling you already know that! " Though, if she didn't...well, it couldn't be to hard to guess. "Does she know about me? ...Um, I guess this is a discussion for later." She only asked due to not seeing a certain Unicorn lady here. If they weren't close yet, then...wouldn't this be some kind of bad taboo? "..Let's keep this between us for now, at the very least. " She really didn't want to end up breaking the timeline!
As she began to speak of her abilities with magic, Autumn's face fell again, a hint of disappointment there. She probably didn't even want to ask what level she fell into, but she could guess it was pretty low skill. "..Um, yeah..that's fine..later! " Or not, depending on how she felt about it later. "Yes, why?! Is that to short? In that case, I'll definitely beat you! " .......And those words would be laughed at had anyone actually heard besides Carmen, as in the next few moments, and incredible display that was put on once again,Autumn could barely get a word out of her mouth for several moments after the mass destruction of every darn demon on the island! "..You know, growing up, I always suspected you to be some kind of Goddess, and that you were unaware of it.. I still think that, You're just to cool, you know that? " Well, she didn't mind complimenting her this time, she fully deserved it!

Carmen blinked as the terrified witch clung to her desperately, letting out a small chuckle. "...You realize I'm levitating you, don't you? And honestly, do you think I wouldn't catch you even if you did fall? You have so little faith in your mother's abilities!" What a person to not trust the magic of! Moving a hand to her hip, she raised her other as she spoke. "I'm trying to remain mostly blind about my future. I'm intentionally blocking the knowledge of who your other parent is. Though I have my guesses..." Especially since she just confirmed the other person was also a woman. "I'd like to be surprised when I first see my children. Though, I'll certainly know they're mine when I first see them." She could just divine every detail right now if she wanted to, but where was the fun in that?
"Ahahaha... I can't say much on my potential divinity, but I can say being complimented by my adorable daughter is great! I'll have to show off more for you." She paused a moment. "...But of course I know I'm cool. Everything I do is amazing." She put her hands on her hips, practically beaming proudly. After all the effort she had put in, it damn well better be amazing.

"...You didn't win." Astrid pointed out flatly to Autumn from behind her, as if she needed to be told that! After all the demons were vaporized, she didn't really need to stay defending the mouth of that now closed portal, did she?
"Ahh, Alisa's spawn. It's nice to see you two friends. Or..." ...More? Astrid glanced away, slight coloration at her cheeks, as she seemed to understand what Carmen was implying. "...Oh my."
"I-I'm just... Autumn's protector." Astrid hastily tried to explain an excuse. She DID kinda just sprint right to her side the moment she felt her to defend her, it was a little obvious. "She's helpless on her own, so I keep her from ending up on the moon. ...Again. That's all."
"...Heheh. Well, I do appreciate that, little Astrid. " Now she wanted to tease her, but she would refrain. ...For now. Looking at this girl was really like looking at a younger version of Queen Althesa. It was rather surreal. The raven wings in particular brought the Raven Queen to mind, obviously.
