Kai2, bit his lip, trying to will away the worst of the pain. If possible, it was worse than it had been the first time. He closed his eyes and nodded at Taki, not knowing what else to do.

Kai1 crouched next to his twin and looked at Taki questioningly. "Chipped?" He asked, turning back to the other him and touching his cheek gently. "Are you ok?"

Brooklyn rolled his eyes. "How did it burn down?" He asked obligingly, looking around the corridor boredly.

Boris' eyes narrowed. "Rei. I need to know what's wrong." He said as calmly as he could manage. "I want to know if I can help."

Rei let out a bark of laughter. "You can't fix everything, Borya." He said bitterly.

Boris frowned. "Rei?" He asked.

"I just realised something." Rei said quietly looking at the ground. "I realised that it wasn't going to end." He shook his head. "None of this is going to end."

"None of what?"

The second Kai tried to rise again, swaying unsteadily. He overbalanced and was caught by his twin. "Ouch." He sad flatly, consenting to be supported by his other.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Kai1 asked, adjusting his grip on the other so it was more comfortable for both of them.

"It's pretty hard to talk about something when you're going to experience blinding pain if you mention specifics." Kai2 replied.

"Does it still hurt?"

Kai shook his head. "There's only twinges of it now." He said before looking at Taki. "Where are we now?"

Fayina sighed, guessing that the Kai's voice that sounded pained would have been her Sacha. She looked down at the gun that had been given to her by Boris, the device looking too big for her child's hands. When should I do this?

Brooklyn looked at Bryan and frowned. "A tiger?" He mouthed, confused. Taki doesn't strike me as a liar- why would he say that?

Brooklyn looked at Zeus' disc, still trying to make out the creature depicted on it. Would there be a tiger sacred spirit?

Rei gestured helplessly. "This" He said. "This whole thing." He looked up at Boris. "You're going to have to keep on killing all of my friends while you try to hunt down the resistance and get to the source."

He shook his head disgustedly. "And all the while you're going to keep on screwing me like nothing is wrong!"

Both Kai's rolled their eyes. "Like that would happen." The first said flatly, taking a test step forward to make sure that he and his double wouldn't fall A over T if they had to move quickly.

"What are we doing when we get to the lab?" Kai2 whispered.

"Good question."

The lavender haired Russian bit her lip and closed her eyes, listening to the murmur of conversation between the trio. She knew that the gun she held only gave her a slight advantage over Taki. An advantage that could easily be overthrown by the joint strength of the Kais.

He looked around and spotted a small group of people at the other end of the room. He pointed at them. "Is that who we're looking for?" He asked.

Boris stepped away from Rei, hurt. "Is that what you think?" He asked quietly, looking at the ground to try to find his own pants. "Really?" He located his pants and looked up at Rei, waiting for an answer.

Rei opened his mouth, flustered. "I-"

Boris looked down at the ground again and picked up his pants, pulling them on slowly. "I didn't think so." He said quietly.

Fayina smirked. "I doubt it." She said flatly, steadying the gun with her second hand, aiming for the centre of Taki's chest. She didn't think she'd get another shot if she did miss.

Kai1, slowly unwrapped his arm from around his double's waist and reached for his disk, hoping that he could do something before Fayina tried anything.

"Are you that selfish that you think you're the only person I've ever cared about in the entire time I've been at Biovolt?" Boris asked, giving Rei a hard look. "Is that what you really think."

A look of doubt came over Rei's face. "But... you said."

"I'm not talking about something like that." Boris said with a sad look on his face. "I'm talking about watching your own daughter betray you then having to kill her to set an example." He looked into Rei's eyes. "Do you know what that feels like?"

"She didn't even know." Boris said sadly. "I had her killed and she still didn't know about who she was."

Rei bit his lip and tried to calm himself down. The last thing he needed to do was break into hysterics, no matter how much he wanted to. "Who?" He asked.

"Kiana Kiska."

"s**t." Kai1 swore, looking at Taki, he quickly moved to the front of the Russian to see the damage. "Double s**t." He muttered, eyebrows knitting in concern.

He ignored the bubble of panic that wanted to force itself through him. I have no idea what to do He thought, kneeling down in front of Taki. "Where's the nearest place you can get medical attention?" He demanded.

Fayina threw away the gun she was holding and continued running, feeling her speed increase with her desperation. Let me forget She thought, running toward Ralef's lab. I don't want to remember

Kai2 panted as he ran, the effects of his operation only a few hours before hitting him hard. I can't keep up He thought as he tried to increase his pace to catch up with Fayina and failed. She's too fast

Brooklyn frowned at the dismissal but shrugged. She would know if something really wrong was happening. He walked toward the main body of the resistance. "What are you guys planning?" He asked.

Rei blinked. "Kia" He asked. "How's that possible?" He looked down at the floor as he did a quick calculation. "You would've been about eleven when she was born." He said, looking up at the elder. "Don't tell me you-"

"Hell no." Boris interrupted. "I'm only father in the sense that they took my DNA and created her. I didn't have any active part in the process."

"...Oh..." Rei said with a hint of relief. "I... don't know what to say."

"Neither did I when I found out." Boris told him. "But I was about twenty when I did find out so I could cope better." He sighed. "Why do you think Kia got so high in the chain of command? She's talented but she's also headstrong, not the things we normally look for in our leaders."

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "It figures that because of that we'd be here, hm?"

Kai moved to Taki's unhurt side and wrapped his arm around the Russian, trying to be as gentle as possible. "You don't need go back to Kia." He insisted, rising as slowly as possible to stop jolting Taki's arm. "You need to get to a doctor."

He looked at the blood flowing from Taki's would and paled. "Now"
