Jen was in the library, fresh from her remedial studies she planned to ace through everything and just get them to make her drop it. Her homework was almost done and she was idly flipping through a Greek Hero book as a side project.
'I wonder if we have a Hercules at this school?' Jen wondered as she checked out the pictures of the man. There were also what seemed like different events, one marked "Marvel History" and others marked "DC History". It got even more complicated as she saw there were even more versions of the books in the lists.
'Why do we live in such a confusing Multi-Verse?'

Billy rubbed at his eyes gingerly and looked off toward where Hartley vanished and found himself shaking his head in disbelief.
"Tricky tricky tricky..." He turned back around and started looking around the fork in the cavern's path.
"I knew I liked Hartley for a reason. But I really only needed him to get me the way inside. Not really to accompany me to the Nexus."
"Then why did you insist he go with you?"
"... I was hoping he'd stop me."
"Tsk tsk. Poor Billy. Getting cold feet?"
"I...I don't like this."
"We discussed this once already. I dislike repeating myself Billy dear."
"I know, I just..."
"Go. Now."
Billy looked around and held his palm up and it started to be basked with a brilliant blue glow. It lit the way but it also acted as a beacon for the energies he could sense. It was why he really didn't need Hartley fr anything other than finding the cavern entrance. Only a mage could sense the power down here. Somewhere.
But where?
Billy then glanced ... down ... and smirked. Of course it would be right under the noses of the select few who knew about this "secret" hideout. If they had any idea that it was so much more.
He focused and the light bathed the rock floor at the mouth of the two tunnels and slowly the lid of an opening shifted up, revealing a set of stairs that led further downward.
The stone door was held upright until Billy disappeared below and it closed shut once again...

Achilles had asked a Mister Rayner where he might find a book about Troy, and the man seemed as reluctant about allowing Achilles to read up on his own tragic tale as Diana and other members of the school staff. Achilles kindly (well not really) pointed out he knew enough from idle stories and movies, and gossi with friends and family, so he had every right to get the same help other students asked of.
That was when Rayner recommended a book entitled "The Illiad". He told Achilles there were several copies in the Historical section.
So that was where he found himself now, silently pouring over the vast number of titles on the shelves.
"Ah." he whispered as he finally came upon the Illiad hardcover and he pulled it from the shelf. He inspected it and frowned. Such a thin book for what he had been told was the main account of his tale. Perhaps there was more to it?
He opened the book and leaned back against the shelving unit and started to flip through it.

Cassie took the book from Wally and started reading though it..
" What language is this written in? It's not in English or even Latin for that matter."
Cassie frowned and handed the book over to Dani to look at.

Dani was usually a B student when it came to school grades... she when she was given the book, she shook her head a little.
"I'd like to help, but I don't know the first thing about this kinda stuff... Besides I breay read the book they give me in English."
She frowns still wanting to help, couldn't decipher what was written in the book.
"What we need is a brainy person. Someone who likes to read, and I know just the girl."
She smiles at the group.
"Jen Walters!"

Ah, Jen...maybe I shouldn't be there when you ask her a favor.
*Chris still felt bad about what happened with Jen. He never meant to hurt her and he sincerely liked her but his feelings for Cassie were just too strong. Jen had been pissed and hurt(rightly so) and she didn't want to see him.*
I think she's still mad at me.

"When does detention end anyway?" Teddy asked, "We should go get your boy and do something." Teddy peeked at his phone quickly.
No new texts. No surprise.
Since he'd been single, they'd started showing up less frequently.
Quickly, he sent one out to Hartley.
You free?

Hartley didn't have time to answer any text, because he was breathless just outside of Teddy's dorm. After temporarily blinding Billy, Hartley had done the Rogue thing - that is, he had retreated from the threat of a more powerful enemy. He'd headed back up the tunnel and beelined to Teddy.
He could have gone to James, Len and Lisa...or to Powell and his friends, but at the moment, he wanted to make sure Teddy and Wallace hadn't been magicked into toads or something.
And so, Teddy heard the beep just outside of his door of his text being received by Hartley, who nearly broke the door down trying to get inside.
"Billy....crazy...evil wizard....get out of here...NOW!"

Jen caught a peek of Greek muscle and all her thoughts of Hercules were tossed out the window as she saw the real deal walk past her clutching a book and deep in thought.
She really wanted to tell him about the club, but it needed Karen here as well and all the others she'd gathered to make the best impact. She caught a glance of his book.. it was that long poem that she had dismissed on giving to Karen, it was too deep and really long winded to let her flip through for an idea. Though it did give a lot more details especially about Patroclus it looked like Achilles was going to read it.
'Doesn't he know? Wait... what if he didn't... oh...this will not end good.'
Jen was in a debate with herself over whether to tackle Achilles and get the book off him or to let him be in peace. She opted for the last one and ducked down behind the books.

"What? Billy? He's harmless. He probably did some weirdo spell that backfired on him. I could go---" Teddy paused, realizing that he was just about to go offer to talk to Billy, but he wasn't sure he'd be able to help anymore. "Eh, this is probably all my fault." Maybe Billy was going haywire since Teddy wasn't his boyfriend anymore.
Another pause, and he looked over at Wallace. Well, if Billy was on some sort of rampage, it was probably best that they leave and go someplace to figure out what to do.
Teddy shifted, growing larger, and unfortunately, greener. When he was finished, he looked sheepishly at the other two, wings unfolding behind him. "Sorry," Teddy mumbled, certain that they had to be freaked out by this. "But I can fly us anywhere now."

Dani breaks out her phone, with a smirk to Chris. "I was just going to text her..." Then she understaood why he didn't want to be around her. Dani sighed, This family was getting bigger and bigger and harder to stay together. She'd need a far more devious plan next time if this family would ever mend the cracks in the walls. "But If you don't want me too.... Who do you suggest could help us?" Jen should have knows a little Latin form her studies in Law, that come from Latin... And if they wanted to help Billy, she was sure Jen could but a side a bruised ego for a little. Could Powell? "We need her. It's for Billy." She made her statement definitive. Then dialed Jen sending her a text. "You busy? Saving Billy, "the Spaz" from the forces of evil. @ Powell's. Lots of reading. Help?"

Dani...I have no problem with Jen. I like her and think she's great. But she's still ticked at me as far as I know. Me being involved in going to her for help might end badly.
*Chris sighed.*
And I don't know who else to ask.

How few of them actually knew? That so many decades earlier, when Vandal Savage first opened this school, that he had chosen this particular location for a most special reason.
The grounds the school resided on was quite literally, a Nexus; a place equidistant from the five elements of Wiccan power; earth, air, fire, water and spirit. Savage had the very structure of the school built to resemble this as it was built with five points, each corner of the main school campus building an equal distance to one of the aforementioned focal points of the elements. This made the campus into one of the rare and most powerful Ley Lines of arcane energy.
It also made the grounds extremely coveted by those of the mystic arts who wanted it for their own. The talents of mages who made this school their home, such as Stephen Strange, Agatha Harkness and Daimon Hellstrom took extreme caution with defensive wards to keep any magical intruders from being able to access the grounds unless specifically invited...
Being of his blood, Satanna herself had a pass, but she needed a host body to have complete access to the Nexus; Billy.
And those that called the ancient community of New Salem their home had none. Agatha Harkness herself saw to that. To be able to have access, the spells of Hero High would have to be torn down, and that required inside help...
Billy came down the final step and almost reeled from the sheer intoxication of the power he felt. An adult mage who had come into their own would feel the strength of the Nexus; someone as young as Billy would feel literally intoxicated.
"Go on..."
Billy stood upright from where he had bent at the waist to regain his composure and his face was flushed with perspiration. He walked into a large, circular cavern which walls were smoothed over into a sheen. Intricate symbols were carved in those very walls of the likes Billy had never saw before, even in any of the school's magical texts.
He walked into the center of the cavern where there were five dais-like altars extending out from the walls, low to the ground.
"Is this it?"
"It is. You found it. You found the Nexus point."
Billy started to step into the center but was halted unwillingy...
"Don't!"
He fell back a step and toppled off balance and fell to his backside. He blinked in surprise.
"Idiot. You have no idea what would have happened! That power is not for you!"
"But... but I thought..."
Billy then vanished in a flash of fire and black smoke...
And reappeared in the same manner in the boy's dorm hall. He gasped in surprise and fell to his knees.

"Don't worry Chris, She's a hulk, but If she was more focused on helping other's, specifically, Billy in this case, I'm sure she can put all that anger behind her."
She smiles at him patting his back
"After all it worked for you."

Jen jumped as her phone buzzed. 'Noooo I didn't put it on silent!' She gathered up her stuff and crammed it into her backpack. She jumped up and ran past Mr Rayner who was trying to lecture her. "Yeah, yeah I know... be quiet... I'm done here anyway..." She sat outside and took out her blinking phone. "You busy? Saving Billy, "the Spaz" from the forces of evil. @ Powell's. Lots of reading. Help?" Jen frowned as she read the message. 'Great, Powell....fuu.' She was still ticked but she'd been so distracted lately that she really hadn't been thinking about him or dating. Okay, I'm on my way... just make Powell do a silly dance for me. Jen sniggered, this would be funny at least. She started walking over to the boys dorm.
