"No, I knew that." Eara replied, trying to keep her voice as level as she could. "But I really don't have any other option, do I? It's hardly in my nature to surrender easily... So... what terrible, agonizing ordeal are you going to put me through now, huh? You might as well get on with it." She'd been hanging around Fir for waaaaay too long. She almost worried about hanging out with Mor or Ava or Vince again.... No doubt they'd notice, that is, IF she managed to live through this.
Yuki nodded, carefully hoisting Hapushi up. "C'mon kiddo." she encouraged gently, "In we go.." But after Hapushi was safely inside, she took the liberty of salvaging all medicines, inventions---absolutely anything she could move. She didn't want to risk it.
Garren grinned. "Well, we'll have to wait until these scars set won't we?" he murmured, "Perhaps we'll have to carve you some lady parts. You're going to be bitching like a broad soon enough..." He moved to his other arm, once again carving elaborate and intricate snakes twining around his arm. "Guess what's next?"
Shiori watched the fire in dismay. "Where are we going to sleep...?" she whispered, "Damnit, I'm homeless again, aren't I..?"

"So eager to get started?" Herne asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking. "I suppose it is best. After all; you aren't needed. The more you cooperate, the better your chances are of staying alive." ------
"Why the hell did you-ow- ask me that?" Fir asked. "There's no possible good answer. Either I- ow- guess right or I guess wrong and give you more ideas."
Melor grinned. "You sound like you've done this before, Rat King."

Hapushi winced, "Aoki breached my shields... destroyed the computers..." she explained to Yuki quickly. "I had no choice but to use the self destruct system."

Without warning, Aled began to laugh. "The palace goes up in flames and that's what you're worried about?" he smiled slightly, flying around the palace to try and get in through the lab itself. "We'll move to my summer home." the Ou replied, as if it were common knowledge.

"KAGUYO!" Po-ar screamed, dashing through the halls. He couldn't tell where the woman was now... and he didn't hear her cries any longer.

"I'm not saying a damn word about Kazuhiko, before you even ask." Eara narrowed her eyes. "There's very, very little you can do to convince me otherwise. Even Fir knows better than to speak of him... You're not getting anything from us." She had a faint idea of how Herne worked by now. She hadn't seen him as often as, say, Morrigan, but he always had the same motivation. Find the next Hunter, and kill him.
"No, I have plenty of ideas." the Nagaroi smiled, moving to his leg once he had finished. He started at the ankle, but he made two snakes on the left leg, one that would eventually curl around his torso. "It's going to be remarkably easy to keep track of you now, Fir... After your legs, I think you have a pretty fair idea of what's next. We might have to make a few more drastic incisions, however..."

"It's alright." Yuki soothed her, "I'll be right back..." She dug whatever clothes and other favorites of Watari she could find out of the many rooms attached to the lab. "Youkatta..." she finally climbed in, "I think that's most of it..."
Shiori blinked. "Where is that??" she tilted her head. "I mean I heard of you having a summer home, but... I just figured that was bullshit." she spoke frankly. "With so many people too poor to own a single home, it seemed impossible that someone, even the Ou, could own two."
"Su-kun...?" It was Kaguyo's voice, cracking like the fire around them. "Su-kun... tasukete..." The fire was getting too hot and high in some places for the sprinklers, evaporating the water. Her little haven was getting smaller and smaller. Her hair was going to be so damn short it wasn't even funny anymore. "Tasukete... onega-...gaishimasu..."

"What were you getting?" Hapushi asked, leaning against the headboard of one of the lab's cots. She certainly looked the worse for wear.
~ ~ ~
Aled shook his head. "I own three actually. One in the forested portion of the mountains, the palace itself, and another near the ocean." he replied, kicking through one of the lab's windows and landing inside. "ANYONE HERE?!" he shouted, hoping to get a response.
~ ~ ~
The flames around Kaguyo fanned out around her, as a ki blast literally paved the way for Po-ar. Dashing forward, the Ouji knelt next to Kaguyo, trying to help her up. "Hold on, Kaguyo-san... I'll get you to the lab."

"Youkatta..." Kaguyo murmured, leaning against Po-ar and trying not to pass out. "Clean air, onegai... Lightheaded... feel sick.....Ugh---" She held it, but she was lucky not to already be dead from smoke poisoning. "Keys... cuffs..." she tried to communicate, "Ugh.... ugh..." She was calm for a few seconds after Po-ar picked her up, but wound up puking over the side. Despite her attempts to miss the Tarnbjin, she still ended up getting some of the mess on his shoes. She could hardly move at all on her own. The Muse had more or less left her for dead after all.
Shiori looked at him in disbelief, unable to speak. She had a good idea of where they were going next. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"
Yuki pointed to all the equipment she salvaged---which was surprisingly a lot, given how wrecked it was. "Meds, electronics, all of that..." she smiled faintly, before nearly having a heart attack at Aled and Shiori. "INTO THE PORTAL!"

Herne just continued to smile. "You are sure about this, how?" he asked. "Haven't you been wondering how exactly we got you both. And where we are?" -----
Maeve smiled at Itachi, though the expression wasn't quite warm and fuzzy. "Well have a seat and join us. Thom's actually in the middle of some work, though."
Sure enough the youth was busy at a table, going through sheet music and editing, writing and erasing like crazy. --------
Fir grimaced, eyes screwed up in pain. He took a deep shuddering breath, trying not to scream. But oh damn did it hurt.
"Shouldn't you be askign what you want and then do this when I refuse?" He managed to get out through gritted teeth.

"I know how you got us." Eara answered, "The last thing I remember was, my neck..." she licked her lips, staring at the floor as she recalled what she could, "You guys got in through the window, while Fir and I were drunk and watching movies... The knives weren't where they were supposed to be in the kitchen. Seems logical enough to me."
Garren shrugged. "How about you start talking and we do? We both already know what--more specifically, who---we're after. Where's the young hunter, Fir?"

"Hell if I know," Fir said, still wincing at the linguring pain in his limbs. "We had a falling out. And if I go off to get drunk alone, it's not like I keep tabs on people." -------
Herne smiled. "Such a simple little creature, aren't you? Well, then, perhaps you and I should get started. It is going to be quite a long night for you."

"How unfortunate..." Garren frowned. "And you don't think your little Rats might know where to find him?---you know, that alcohol must have thinned your blood quite a bit, I've never seen anyone bleed like you..." He moved onto the other leg, starting at the ankle. The foot was a very, very sensitive region; after all, tattooing them was excrutiating in comparison to one's thigh. He started to etch in the scales to follow the body, starting to smile again. "I bet you any money if you called for him he'd come."
Eara looked a bit paler after this, trying to jerk herself free from him. "Uh-uh," she shook her head, "No way..." She wasn't going peacefully, she had already determined that. "Let me go!!" No panic attacks, not yet. She had to keep her cool. She HAD to. Goddamnit, though, it was awfully hard trying to convince herself that. She was in over her head, to say the very least.

"Doubt it," Fir said, closing his eyes and breathing in short gasps. Oh jeez, that hurt. Vain as he was, right now scars were the least of Fir's worries.
"It's be in your best interest to make a phone call," Melor suggested.
"Who the ow are you?" Fir demanded.
"If we give you a phone, would you call?" Melor asked.
"No." --------
Herne grabbed Eara by the chin, forcing her head upwards to look at him. "Seeing how you and your sister are so close, I thought it might be interesting to let you experience the same thing she went through."

Ahhh, s**t. One of the few times Morrigan was broken, it was by Herne, perhaps twice. She never really spoke about it. She was always content to leave it in the past. It helped that Po-ar took her memories. "Your magick doesn't work here." she pointed out, eyes locked with his. "I'm a Celt, a*****e. How many wars do you think I've been through while Morrigan went and was a priestess? Bards got caught the fray as well as anyone." She went and tried to bite his finger, actually starting to believe herself (if only momentarily). She thrashed and tried to use her weight to throw him off balance--in truth she was absolutely desperate.
Garren smiled. "But you said yourself you had a falling out. What would be the chances he was actually there? It couldn't hurt, could it??" And if Melor had a phone, he obviously knew how to put it on speakerphone. He started to dig a bit deeper, starting to slowly pick at his ankle.

Herne gripped the woman tightly. "Ah...but your goddess cannot help you...nor can any of your usual defences. Where as we already agreed that I am far from dependent on magic."
------
Fir groaned in pain. He closed his eyes and just breathed for several moments. Just trying to clear his head and block out the new "decorations" being inflicted on his body.
"No." he manged to get out.

"********," Eara cursed, still trying to move; she didn't realize how strong he was. She was hardly budging at all, let alone budging him. "********, ********! LET ME GO!! Goddamnit LET ME GO!!" She started kicking with her feet, trying to kick back into his crotch or kneecaps, anywhere that could be weak.
Garren shook his head. "Well, we're going to keep doing this to you, and we'll get progressively worse, until you do call him." he narrowed his eyes. "Then again, who knows. Maybe the bard'll break first and call him, leaving our mutual friend here to experiment on you as he likes. Herne did manage to break my enemy twice... I don't doubt it'll be much easier to pick on the younger sister. Maybe if our friend is nice enough he'll allow you to see her before she goes through the same thing you are, only worse." He was still etching the snakes into his legs, but he paused for a moment, smiling. "My dear host, we wouldn't want our guest to get infections, would we...?" He casually took a large bottle of rubbing alcohol and started to pour it over his legs and arms. "Now call them, Fir, or we'll start flaying the skin off your neck....no, you know what? Perhaps we'll scalp you. That way our good host can look at your brain..." He was very keen to keep Fir from knowing Melor's name, after all... Clearly, the ignorance left Fir leagues behind instead of one step ahead.
