O.o... I don't know...
My sister, who took spanish for 7 years and passed each class with an A, told me how to say "My name is ____" ... So... I'm going to have to say you're incorrect. That's just what I've learned.
Don't forget, there are different hispanic languages, and certain words mean different things in each one...
I'm Costa-rica... And that's also what my father told me, who grew up in Costa-Rica. O.o;;...

Actually... no thats totally correct in any dialect... have you ever had it spelled for you? Me amo and me llamo sound very similar... ll sounds like a y... so it sounds like you're saying me yamo... me yamo - me llamo...
