Like Cherry and Minty are saying, there's a lot you could do if you take a year off (I'm not quite sure how it works over where you are, but I'm pretty sure it's not that different from the process over here). A friend of mine took the year off before starting uni and got an internship at the city's main casino. Granted, he worked long hours into the night but by the time the year ended he had enough to pay for his uni fees, books and still have a 5 digit number in his account o.o

Some internships pay. Or you could just get a job in your field, and don't look at it as getting off track, but getting experience. Getting the upper hand on your classmates, as if you do a good job, then they might hire you after you graduate.

Where I live there isn't a lot of chances for internships and there is only four museums in the area and none of them do internships because they are so small they probably only get like ten people a day if that.

Military.
I'm seriously looking into the National Guard right now, because they'll pay for everything. Of course, I'm looking into Linguistics, specifically Arabic, so I'd be an Intelligence officer and not a combat soldier.

Height requirements are not met.
My mom is giving me till tomorrow afternoon to think about it. My only choices are to borrow or drop out and get a job. Which I don't want to borrow.
So lets get off his topic because it's giving me a head and heartache.

There is a height requirement for all military jobs. They just have a wider range for some jobs over most. Listen I already talked to a recruiter on the phone I told him my height and he was like 'oh.. well then.."

4'8 making Army and Air Force out. Navy is out too because of bad sea sickness, I don't care if my dad and grandpa were in the navy the genes didn't pass to me, and to add to it I'm overweight so I'm probably not going to get because of that too.
