I already had this fight with my friend.
Not going to borrow money so that's out Scholarships wouldn't arrive in time Fin Aid may come at the end of the quarter, but that's too late I already have things I need to pay for so my money is out
What other choices do I besides dropping out of school for a year.

Why won't you borrow money? Can't you drop out of school just for the quarter?

Because borrowing money makes me feel like a failure who can't pay for themselves.
I could drop out of school for a quarter, but the temptation of staying out of school for the whole year would be too great with the fact that if I had enough money I could go to Japan again. And I need to pay for books anyways.

Drop out for a quarter, even a semester. Even a year. It's only one year when have an entire life. You can explore other options during this time. Volunteer, or get a job. Learn a new craft~ But there is absolutely no reason to think of ending your life. There is so much to do.

Well, like Cherry said, maybe taking off a year wouldn't be too bad. You could go to Japan and get a job to help pay off the loans and for your next year of college. Maybe your college has a co-ed program? Get an internship for a year/half year and get work experience in your field maybe.

So I'm a failure for having a loan? I have a couple loans, actually.
Transfer to a cheaper college?

Interships would be a wonderful thing to look into.

Just to make sure this is clear. That rope thing was supposed to be half a joke. The rope being the joke.
Yes, but I'm one of those people who if they don't stay on track it'll be harder to get back on track.
I don't want to spend my whole life only to find out the day I die I got what I always wanted.
Internships don't usually pay.
