Kawi unbuckled kai and picked him up. Ember got out a well sighing softly.

After ringing the bell, it didn't take long for someone to answer. It was a girl, maybe ten years old or so. She had shoulder length, blonde hair, sharp brown eyes, and rather pale skin. She looked a little uncertain to see them all. "Do you want someone?"
Yugi was struck dumb by this stranger, but Atem managed to speak promptly. "Khalid and Ryou. They do still live here, right?" He didn't know what to think.
Rei nodded her head eagerly. "Sure. Lemme go get them." She left the front door open as she turned, running into the house. "Dad? Khalid? There's people to see you!"

Kawi blinked holding kai. Ember looked to atem "Did that child look like a mini kira or is it just me?"

"There is a resemblance, yes." Atem said, his eyes narrowed. He was confused; she had clearly called Ryou dad, and she looked like Kira. But Kira and Ryou's only child was Kai, and he was right there. Before he could fit the pieces together, Ryou showed up in the doorway, the little girl next to him.
"Oh, hello!" Ryou seemed far more cheerful than before-- but not that much. Seeing some of their stunned faces, he hastened to explain. "This is Rei, Kira and Bakura's daughter. Earlier in the year Khalid had tried to get her out of her foster home, and he just worked everything out. She's been here for... um..."
"Five days." Rei said, holding up a hand, all her fingers extended. "Khalid told me about what's going on. I still don't believe a lot of what he said, but I've got an awesome new family!"

Seeing his father kai's eyes brightened. He was always hasing kawi where his daddy was "Dada!" kai said exsaitedly and squirmed reaching out twards ryou. Kawi smiled softly "Well hello. It's nice too meet you then. Im kawi." Kawi said.
Still a bit confused ember itched her head and stayed silent

"I'm Rei." The girl said to Kawi, her sharp brown eyes studying the woman. She smiled, then looked over to Ryou for help.
"Oh..." Ryou subconsciously moved over to Kawi, taking Kai from her and holding his son first. "That's right. You two weren't around when..." He trailed off, and was saved from having to respond by Khalid's appearance.
Khalid looked over the guests, his eyes narrowing at Atem. He was as emotionless as ever. "What do you want?" He asked coldly, in no mood for polite behavior.
"Oh, um, right." Yugi had forgotten to mention why they were here in the first place. He glanced uncomfortably at Rei before speaking. "We were going to go out and try to find Kira. We hadn't heard from you in a while so we also decided to stop by and see how you are, and if you wanted to come."

"Kira?" Rei perked up at this bit of news. "My mother?" She looked towards Khalid for confirmation, and the man nodded, without looking at her. "I want to see her! I didn't get to yet. I'll come!"
"No." Khalid said flatly, looking at the girl. He knew that Luci and Kira were living together, and he wouldn't want the child to come across Kira if she was dead, or bruised, or just in any kind of bad situation. "You're staying here. If we can find her we'll bring her by for a visit or something. Just go back inside. Pegasus should still be there."
"No!" Rei became childish and stubborn then, stomping her foot down. "Pegasus is weird and tries too hard to be nice. I want to see my mother! You have to bring me!" She glared up at Khalid, who stared coldly back. Ryou decided to step in.
"Rei, you will get to see your mother. But coming with us wouldn't be the best thing. Please, just listen to Khalid." Ryou shared the same fears, of Rei seeing Kira when Luci was doing something terrible. That was, if they could even find her.

Ember smiled softly "Why don't you stay here with kai? He needs sombody to play with. Im afraid were not that fun. When we find your mother we will bring her here ok? Then you can spend the whole day togther."

Rei gave the toddler a sharp look, then looked up at Ryou. "Kai? He's your kid, right? Why were they the ones with him?"
"I've told you this before." Ryou said, nudging at Rei to go back into the mansion. "Things had gotten really hectic and we wanted to leave him with someone else for a while. He's your half brother, you know." Inside, Rei sat on a couch and Ryou handed Kai to the girl, not wanting her to hold him while standing. Not until she had gotten used to him.
Watching his husband and his daughter-in-law go inside, Khalid looked at the others. "So you don't know where Kira is." He said slowly. He, of course, did. "What had you been planning to do? Wander around the streets of the city calling her name?"

Kai cooed and smiled softly as he sat in rei's lap. "Wibbt!" he said and giggled.
"Well..you saw her last dident you? Dont you have any idea? You tend to know where everybody isanyways" embersaid.

"I saw her just before she died-- again-- and before Luci blew up the hospital." Khalid said, turning as Ryou finished telling Rei what to do and what not to do. Ryou closed the front door and immediately he became quite cheerless. "But she's on the other side of town. I know the street, I'm just not sure as to the house."

"Well thats a good start!" Kawi said. "We go up the street and see if we see her!"

"We'll go in our car." Khalid said, taking Ryou's hand and drawing the boy close. He told them the name of the street, and headed towards his and Ryou's car. Ryou stuck close to his husband, not looking at the others too much.
