Hartley was in detention.

So okay, yeah, that fun trip to the amusement park? Which was exactly as awesome as it should have been, requests to do makeouts on the teacups being denied and all, but it was during school time and apparently Professor Allen was quicker on the updake than Hartley had given him credit for.

In an uncharacteristic act of unselfishness, Hartley had shouldered all of the blame for Gay Hookey and so Wallace and Teddy had only gotten off with a warning. But Hartley, he was back in detention.

It felt like a step backwards, somehow.

"Hey. Hey. Heeeeeeeey." James Jesse poked Hartley in the back with his pencil. Hartley scowled.

"Knock it off!" Ms. Harkness was in charge of detention today, and she wouldn't foster any horseplay. She wasn't like Ms. Darkholme, who made detention not only bearable, but educational. Ms. Harkness just sat there and stared at them like a corpse that somehow managed to get tenure.

"C'mon, tell me about Luthor Land! How was the attendance? Bad? You think the park'll be abandoned by the time we graduate? I'm thinking that would be an awesome place for a supervillain lair." Hartley turned around in his desk to face James. That twerp, stealing Hartley's lair ideas!

"Attendance was great, the park was awesome, now shut up and stop poking me in the back or you're going to filling in the circles on your next test with that pencil up your nose!"

"Children," Ms. Harkness croaked, sounding exactly like what Hartley imagined the reanimated corpse of Bea Arthur would sound like fresh out of the grave. "Should be seen and not heard."

Was that a spell? It was probably a spell. That crazy old witch was always casually casting spells on the students. Hartley decided to be quiet and not invite any sort of trouble.

"Where are you you weasley little....?" Billy silently wondered to himself.

He looked around from the air and fumed. Under most circumstances, Rathaway would be with Wallace but that was a no-go. How is it rodents who always seem underfoot are never around when you actually need one? He closed his eyes and started to focus....

"Where are you....?"

Billy's eyes started to glow brightly as he focused on one thing, and one thing only -- Hartley Rathaway. He continued to hover high in the air over the campus when after several moments, he smiled.

"Gotcha."

**********

Billy peeked through the glass pane of the door where Hartley was serving detention. He cloaked himself so as not to alert Miss Harkness. He looked at the pen on Hartley's desk and smiled. He brought his forefinger up and gave it a twirl...

The pen on Hartley's desk came alive and proceeded to scratch a note on a sheet of paper...

"Been looking for you Hartley. We have to talk. Billy."

Billy dropped his hand and the pen fell to the floor with a clatter, drawing Miss Harkness's attention back up to the boys again. Billy smiled and turned and walked back down the hallway.

Ugh. Hartley crumpled up the sheet of paper on his desk. Didn't Billy know the rules of a breakup? Teddy got to Hartley and Wallace first, and that meant that neither of them could interact with Billy without being branded traitors.

"Dude, what was that?" James poked Hartley in the back again. Hartley shot him a warning glance and then looked at Ms. Harkness, who was still staring straight ahead in a corpse-like manner.

"Billy left me a message. He probably wants to pump me for information about how tooooorn up Teddy is without him. Except Teddy totally kicked it at Luthor Land and it was great, so whatever." Hartley got up and threw the paper away. The bell rang and Ms. Harkness turned her head (Hartley could swear it creaked) and glared at him.

"Goodbye, Mister Rathaway."

"Uh. Goodbye, Ms. Harkness. See you next time."

"That is debatable."

Creepy old broad. Hartley gathered his items and headed to the band room.

Linda was in her room when she had gotten Clark's message...

" Belinda...? Aww how sweet! He's already come up with nickname for me."

Now to find the right outfit. Linda put on a pair of tight black jeans and a low cut yellow sweater. Just enough to show some cleavage but not to much. She didn't want to over do it. Linda then put on some sparkly lip and brush her hair... Linda was soooo excited as she looked in the mirror to make sure that she would make a good impression for her da... interview with Kid Flash.

Wally checked his breath and then knocked on the door.

"Um, hello, Miss Parker. Superboy informed me that you wanted to have an interview?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 14, 2011 2:31 pm

Teddy had felt bad that Hartley had shouldered the blame, and had therefore done the honorable thing of ...well, absolutely nothing. But, he still felt bad. He felt even guiltier as he looked over the bowl of popcorn he was sharing with Wallace to look at his current companion. He had invited Wallace over to his dorm room, and Wallace had lamented the lack of a glory hole, then had shrugged. It was kind of like old times, except for the fact that Billy could walk in at any minute and start drama --

-- oh wait. Yeah. Exactly like old times.

He picked up a piece of popcorn, chucking it at Wallace so that it bounced off of his head and landed on the floor. "Sucks that Hartley is in detention, but ... thanks for taking me out. I think it was kind of worth it anyway."

Linda heard a knock at the door... She opened it slowly. OMG! It was HIM! SQUEEEEEEE!!!! Okay Linda keep it together, gotta remain calm, cool, confident.... He's sooooooo hot!

" It's just Park as in maybe we should go for a walk in the park.Umm... I mean a girl's dorm room is no type of place to have an interview maybe we should go somewhere that we can talk like out for pizza...."

He was so close..... Kid Flash in the flesh. In her head she couldn't help but think that she soooooo owed Clark this.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 14, 2011 2:45 pm

This girl was WAY hotter than he remembered. Just in the nick of time, Wally remembered that she thought he was a jerk. Him! Wally West! Of the awesome catchphrase "West is best!" A jerk!

There was no way he was going to spend money on pizza for this, this...jerk-accuser!

Kid Flash smiled and held open her dorm door for her so she could step out of her room.

"Well, it's actually a pretty nice afternoon for a stroll, Miss Park. How about we step outside and see where things go from there?" That's right, Wally, he thought to himself. Go slow. Find out just why she wants this interview in the first place...the slow approach.

Arrrgh. The slow approach was...so...so slow! Kid Flash scooped Linda up and suddenly they were both outside of the dorm.

::Today...today was the day. Clark would embark on his most harrowing mission ever. Today was the day that Clark Kent asked Lois Lane out on an official date. He had been practicing all day in his office at the Hero High Herald.::

So, Lois, how about you and I hit the ice festival?

...

So, Lo Lo, how about you and me go go...ugh. No...

...

Lois, would you do the honor of accompanying me to the ice carving festival?

It was the next day and Jen was a bit heartbroken that they had never found Achilles. They had spent the afternoon playing with the super-puppy who had been just the cutest thing she had ever seen.

'Great I am so easily distracted, got to focus Walters!'

She brought the banner back to the Art room and was touching it up. It had been covered in elephant snot, snow, puppy drool and dragged around by She-Hulk all of yesterday. It was looking a little tattered. She knew that their little club was still waiting for an official club room and even then Jen wasn't sure how much time she'd have. Her studies were still her number one priority but then again a depressed Greek hero was something she couldn't ignore.

"What do you think?" She asked the dark goth girl that was always hanging around.

"It looks bright an tacky." Raven huffed,

"Fantastic!" Jen beamed. "Maybe some more sparkles."

"Whatever..." Raven said. "Now can you get off my art work... you've been sitting on it!"

"Oh what?" Jen looked down and saw the sheet she had been using did seem like it had been drawn on. "Eh...sorry."

Raven didn't reply and took back her project and skulked off to a corner.

Jen took that as a sign to leave and picked up her now extra sparkly banner.

Linda clinged on to Kid Flash as he carried her away. She could stay in those arms forever....mmmm... sexy. He stopped but Linda was still clinging to him.

" Oh.. uh? Sorry not use to being picked up by someone of such awesomeness... I mean someone so fast."

Linda then stood next to Kid Flash.

" So let's begin the interview..So how much faster are you then other teen heros? Alot, Extermely, or even Superboy eats your dust?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 14, 2011 7:21 pm

Wally thought on that for a bit. It was actually a pretty good question.

"You know, I've laid my claim to being the fastest boy alive, but I've never actually tested myself against Superboy. I mean, if we were in a race, I'm pretty confident I'd come out on top, but it's never actually happened yet."

The two of them walked down the path that looped around the school as they talked.

"But all the other ones, yeah, I'm totally faster than them."

" Wow, that's cool. Superboy's fast but if you guys were ever to race I know you would win.'

Linda was close to Kid Flash making to show of all her best features and was flirting with him... big time.

" So what do think about people who pretend to be interested in someone but really aren't? "

This was Linda digging a little. She wanted to make sure everyone knew Wally West and Kid Flash were NOT the same person. Wally was a disgusting womanizer who went after any girl with a pair of legs and pretty smile. It was obvious he didn't really care about any of them and wouldn't care if he hurt their feelings. Linda was sure Kid Flash wasn't Wally West! Kid Flash cared about people.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 14, 2011 7:57 pm

Well, that was a weird question. Was it just out of left field? Was this like TMZ where she was just trying to see his reaction? Or was she trying to tighten the jerk-noose around Kid Flash's neck, too?

Wally decided to stall for time.

"Er, exactly what sort of article was this anyways, Linda? Is it all right if I just call you Linda?" The two of them came to a snow-covered bench next to the school's lake.

"Hold on a sec." Within seconds, a snow shovel appeared in Kid Flash's hands and he cleared a path for them to sit on a now-clear bench. He smiled at Linda. "I've used vibrations to thaw out the bench a bit. So it'll be a warm sit despite it being the middle of January." Wally sat on one end of the bench, casually and put one leg up.

"I think that, sometimes, you have to get to know someone, really know them before you judge their actions. I can't tell you how many times working with the Flash he's impressed on me that, despite our super-speed, we should never jump to conclusions. I'm uh, I'm still working on it a bit." Wally blushed under the mask. Why was he blushing?!

::A Lois shaped head popped out of a snowbank behind Wally and Linda. Thank goodness for the cold weather combat suit she had pinched from her father, General Sam Lane! It would let her spy on her front page rival and get a sense for the girl's interview style.

And that style was hussy! She was throwing herself at Wally! What kind of reporter did that!? She would never do that with Superboy. Mmmm...Superboy so dreamy.

Lois shook her head. Get your head in the game, girl!

Most ridiculous of all, Linda had no idea that Wally was Kid Flash! What kind of reporting was that!? How could you not know who that man you have a crush on is?::
