Khalid's expression was blank for a moment as he tried to find out what Luci meant by this. It took him a moment to realize the typo. "So, what, the only reason you bring her back is because of..." He paused. It certainly couldn't be because of him. Ryou, maybe? Probably. He lapsed into silence for a bit longer than he should have, his eyes fixed on Ryou's face.

Khalid looked to Luci, his eyes now cold. "I'm trying to keep her away from Ryou, actually. And him from her. In fact, I just think the two should be separated permanently. So please keep a closer eye on your 'pet'."

Khalid prodded Ryou out of the hospital, and didn't say anything as they both got back into their car and began to drive off.

Ryou cringed, and Khalid looked over at him. He leaned towards his husband, patting his knee. "Remember, Ryou, peole die every day. Some of those people wouldn't have even lived anyway." He said this cheerfully; Ryou didn't listen.
