Yeah I know, I was like, why is Shadowborg back? I hear that they are bringing back some rangers from various seasons for an episode of overdrive. All the crappy rangers though.
I love Toph, she is so awesome. "I see it!" *points* xd And Sokka when he drank that cactus juice. "It's a giant mushroom, let's see if it's friendly!"

You know what really is better than Smallville? In fact, what -- in terms of writing, direction and underlying thematic elements -- grinds SV to a bloody and broken pulp crying on the floor for its mother?
Jekyll, written by Steven Moffat and starring James Nesbitt. Although I feel the need to point out that it's after-the-watershed television and pretty gruesome.
Also Life on Mars.

Which? Jekyll or Life on Mars? I don't think either has been aired in America (although I heard they're going to remake Life on Mars for an American audience) and Jekyll's only three episodes in anyway, but they're both pretty much awesome. Worth resorting to electrotheft awesome. Not that I'm endorsing, you know... anything. EDIT: Apparently BBC America aired Life on Mars.

I dunno. Because your networks remake everything so it's set in America? I'm not sure what their reasoning is -- maybe they make more money that way, or maybe they think Americans can't identify with anything that doesn't look like it's taking place in their own back yard, or maybe... wait, do we think they think Americans can't understand English if it's not spoken in an American accent!?
I can understand remaking, say, The Office or Life on Mars, though. I mean when Americans ask why everyone refers to Christopher Ecclestone as having a Northern accent when, quote, "he just has a British accent" it's not that unreasonable to assume that a broad American audience might not identify with the ideosyncratic commentary on British society.
EDIT: Also, I totally called it. I said there were Superman-esque themes (albeit somewhat in reverse) in Jekyll, and there were two explicit Superman references in the last episode.

I mean it isn't that hard. Sure partition was kinda hard to understand but that is only because I'm not used to it. If I had BBC series here in America it wouldn't be a problem!

lol - I was kidding really, clearly Americans can understand English spoken in a variety of accents.
It's probably to do with licensing or something, I don't know. The only channel I ever hear of British shows being aired on in America is... BBC America. And occasionally SciFi.

Idk, accents might have something to do with it. Like I can't understand Northern Vietnamese people when they talk, only Southern. Two different accents and different ways of saying words. Then again, that is harder then english for me so idk.
I don't get why we have the need to americanize everything! gonk

Because everything has to be the saaaaaaaaaame!
And whatever, the British seem to manage with your crazy American accents. If worse came to worst you could always have Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels-style subtitles. XD

That would be annoying. xd
You know, I keep hearing they would change french fries to freedom fries but it hasn't happened.... yet.
Alright! I am now getting the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Mini series but it still works. From what I hear it is really close to the book unlike the American version with Keira Knightly. Plus it is a lot longer than two hours.
