"That sister...." Triton murmured staring at Lin.
The one that looked so much like a mix of his mother and Donovan that it was down right scary at times.
"I take it mom doesn't know."

Gion laughed his silent laugh and examined Lin closely. Had he not known that all of Donovan and Kara's children were adopted, he would have sworn that Lin was theirs biologically. She looked so much like both of them ...
He wasn't sure though why the others were looking at her so suspiciously. She was so cute - and they seemed to be expecting some trouble from her.

Earendil joined the group, chuckling to himself. "Welcome back," he told everyone, grinning at them. he spotted his uncle and blinked.
"Uncle Gion?" he said questioningly. "Where did you come from?"
A moment later he laughed again. "Not that it's a bad thing, it's just a surprise!"
Then he looked back at the others again. "Where did you find him? And did you manage to do what you were hoping to? Is Nako safe?"

"She's fine right now and as far as we know she'll be fine for a quite a while to come. It'll take a long while for them to reorganize, they have a lot to answer for and we left quite a clean up job," Triton replied.
He wasn't going to promise the problem was going to stay away for good, they won't know that for a while and once news came of the children, it sounded like they might not be able to do anything if they decided to do so for at least several decades.

"Travel of communication sucks here," Donovan replied giving his own thoughts as he cradled Lin in his arms, she liked that and she was in a good Kara mood as it was, "So the whoever has been hired won't know yet their boss is gone. They weren't that organized to begin with, they won't realize until they don't get paid. If she stays in the Borderlands she could wait it out until then. Besides, those men will still get hunted, though I should be heading home."
He looked down at Lin wrly.
"Kara is going to wonder where the youngest went to."

"What? So quickly?" Earendil exclaimed, surprised and disappointed. He looked down at Lin and frowned. He liked having her here, he didn't want her to go already!
Luthien was not surprised, though she was disappointed. "Then I suppose you'll be leaving it to Gion to report to his grandmother," she nodded. "I would think you might want to tell her yourself, wouldn't you?"

"We must be going, the day should be almost a near end back home," Yue replied thoughtfully.
It had been three weeks and it wasn't like they left very early in the day or anything.
"Jaseth cannot handle the little ones alone," Yue mused, and he was sure between Wataru, Seki and Miyu the poor man was probably having a heart attack.
Lin pouted, "But Daddy...." she thought for a moment, "Can I come back another time?"

"We'll talk about it," Donovan told Lin firmly.
He wasn't really fond of the idea of Lin running off again and it would just be plain mean to sic' the girl on everyone again without proper warning anyhow.
Donovan nodded at Luthien's comment, "Yes, besides Gion needs to talk to her anyways."

Gion smiled at Luthien reassuringly.
It's all right, he signed, I can tell Nako everything. Besides, there are other things that I want to talk to her about anyways.
If he got her blessing (as he was certain that he would), he and Nadya would be able to marry any time they wished.

Luthien smiled back wanly. "All right, then, if you're sure." She looked to Lin. "Is there anything that you have to go and get? Anything you have in your bedroom?"
She remembered something about some dolls or something ...

"Oh!" Lin remembered, she had brought her bag along, "I brought a bag with me Daddy and it had my clothes and my dollies. I don't wnat to leave my dollies behind."
She looked up at him with those naturally wide eyes of hers.

Donovan hoped that Lin didn't also bring that doll of him that Kara's children gave to Kara. Lin seemed especially attached to that doll for some reason or another.
"Okay, we'll drop by and get that before we go," he murmured.

He looked at the others, waiting for their reply.

Gion nodded and signed, Then I'll just go ahead and find Nako.
He turned to Donovan and the others and smiled. Thank you very much for what you've done, he signed gratefully. It means a lot to all of us. I hope to see you all again someday.
And with that, he bowed politely, then waved and headed down the hall in search of his grandmother.

Yue smiled at Gion as he nodded back, watching the man walk away to give the report.
All the while Lin was clinging to Donovan's shirt with both hands looking up at her father with a beaming face.
"Please Daddy! Say yes!"
She would have scrambled up to his shoulder only she wasn't allowed to do that with him.
