Loki sped up, a black and green blue racing through the woods. Please, Rae...don't be on the mountain....
Rae stopped as the mountain shook more. She looked up...and stepped back quickly as a large boulder rolled down the side of the mountain. She panicked; the boulder had cut away the path in front of her. She turned and panicked ever more; another boulder had taken off the path behind her several yards away.

As they reached the base of the mountain, Snowfur heard rocks rumbling, and saw a boulder heading right for them!"Loki! Duck!", Snowfur yelled.

Loki quickly threw himself to the ground, watching the boulder keep rolling.

As the boulder rolled on behind them, Snowfur said," Loki, I am going to get back on Rae's scent trail, stay right here."

Loki was too surprised that the kit had commanded him to move. He prayed with every fiber of his being that the two would be unharmed.
Rae backed up against the mountainside as the ground trembled. However, it did her little good. With a sickening crack, the small bit of path left brok off the moutnain, and Rae felld down the mountainside, slamming into other ledge along the way. Finally, after much bouncing, her descent stopped. That last thing her concious mind took in was that she was surrounded by rocks, trapped in a pile.

Snowfur clutched to the ground, to keep her balance as more rocks fell, when she suddenly caught on to Rae's scent! And it was very, very fresh! So she followed the trail, up to the two boulders, and saw, that the tail led to the giant pile of rocks below. The pile went about half way around the mountain from other areas of rock slides. "Loki, we got a problem here..."

Loki walked up, staring wide-eyed at the pile. "Can you smell her through the rocks," he asked softly.

Snowfur shook her head sadly," There are traces, of were she fell, like a lil here and there, but there is too much debris to even smell a family of squirrles down there...Loki...what are we going to do?" she said desparingly.

Loki sighed softly. "The spirit was right, Snowfur. Tragedy has stricken us...." In a desperate refusal of Rae's potential death, he called out, "Rae? RAE!" He listened for an answer, and found none.

"But Rae can't be dead, she just can't!," Snowfur said, tears welling up in her eyes,"We have to look for her, maybe shes still alive."

Loki did his best to maintain poise, wrapping Snowfur into a hug with his tail. "We may have to accept that she is, little one." Still, he could not give up yet. "Rae?!"
Rae groaned and opened one eye, blinking back blood dripping from a cut. Vaguely, she thought she heard her name. She began to cough, unable to speak.

Snowfur tore herself out of Loki's warmness, and roared out," Rae!! Where are you!! Please, don't be deeeaaaadd!!". Then Snowfur pricked up her ears for any, any response that could be heard.

Loki sighed and followed Snowfur, less certain that Rae was alive with each passing second.
Rae's delirious mind tried to puzzle things together. ..Dead? Snowfur...darkness...mountain? Both of her eyes shot open. She was trapped in a rock pile after the mountain moved, and Snowfur thought she was dead! She was still unable to talk, unable to move. No, gods, please no! Let them find me!

Snowfur, with hearing no response, started to descend the mountain, towards the pile, in search of Rae. While she was going down, she mumbled to herself,"Rae isn't dead....maybe..shes waiting for us to come down...and sleeping at the lake with her BCR's and Kyou..."

Rae grew desperate. She had family and friends, she could not stay down here and die! Summoning what little strength she had, she kicked at a small rock in the pile, sending it tumbling down in hopes it would draw Snowfur and Loki to her.
