Wha...? Zell turned as the door shut, fist hitting it soundly though clearly the fistfighter had pulled his strength at the last moment because there was only a dull thud that echoed through both rooms instead of cracking the door. "Dammit!"
"Line!" His head hit the door next and stayed there, his eyes closed tightly as his fists pressed the door. "Dammit. It's not about more noble or not accepting you as you are." Zell rolled his head on the door but otherwise did not move. Behind him, Bill glanced worriedly between the SeeD and where he knew the water-dragon to be. Was there really time for a lover's quarrel?
"I'll admit I probably didn't think coming after you... but 'Line... If something happened to you..." With an aching sound the SeeD sank to his knees. He wasn't about to try and go in after her... but this was the closest he could be to her until she was done and Zell needed that. He was too overwrought, too stressed out. And he knew the days ahead weren't likely to get better. "I joined SeeD to save people. If I can't save the one I love..."
He lifted his fist and it fell back against the door with a flat 'thud'. Not a knock, just a flat noise echoing the fistfighter's ache inside and his feeling of helplessness. His shoulders & chest heaved in an aching yet almost silent sob. "Sorry, 'Line... I dun wanna argue..."
The Merge remained quiet, resting. Sad. Seeing -feeling- Zell like this was especially hard. But they had to let him get it all out while he could. he would have to keep it all inside far too soon enough. They could probably help him, but they would not be able to do it for him.
((this rp is breaking me up inside, having to feel Zell like this. *weeps*))

Blinking at him, she then laughed a bit and asked "Um... How about I sit on the side to keep you company... I don't really have swimming clothes right now and I think it'd be rather wierd indeed if I were to take off any of my clothes right now." Giggling, she walked over to where he was to keep him company, perhaps today would be a fun day, he seemed like a nice enough guy to spend the day with.

((@.@ I know...I feel horrible. *Tries to patch poor Maryline up with tape* But I've been reading a few shakespearen plays in english, so expect a few more olde english lines sprinkled throughout Marylines speech that should have been there before

Calanthia came to sit down at a distance from the fire, beside the log. She smiled softly, her violet eyes staring into the fire. "You know, Jyn, she may not be very easy to get along with, but she has done a lot for me. In fact," She looked at him with a beaming smile. "I would have never met you if it wasn't for her." She then shook her head with a smile. "That is one reason I'm visiting her today as she wanted. I want to make sure she is okay. But I doubt she'll need me. She's a very fast healer. That is why I am preparing to meet up with her." Those hues looked back at him. "Please tell me if it is alright? I never cooked this kind of bird before."

"T-torture?" The tenor voice cracked with tears. Torture? I torture her? Zell could not even feel the Merge's attempts to soothe within his mind. He was dull beyond the pain. Everything just ached. Or burned. "Maybe I'm proving myself an idiot... all I want... I just wish I could gather you up an' get ya home an' put this whole day behind us. But we can't. An' I know that an' I'll deal. Somehow. Dunno how yet. 'Line, I..."
The blonde fistfighter simply kept talking, head against the door. "You're more important to me than anything or anyone's ever been. When you left... when I realized ya didn't expect to make it... so many terrible things came again and again into my mind what could happen to you. I couldn't make 'em stop. An' then... then I imagined that I couldn't possibly imagine the worst..."
It was so hard to talk. His throat didn't want to work. But he kept talking -just talking. "Been worried sick, something terrible would happen to you. An' when... an' when I tried to think of life without you... everything went dark. Like all the light was taken away..."
He couldn't hear what Maryline whispered, Zell just knelt there with his head and fists against the door as if unable to stand. Bill being still rather new to the 'family' regardless was rather distraught by the scene. Where was the SeeD's limitless energy?
"Talk to me. Please, 'Line. Something. Anything. What happened? How'd you do it? We've been looking... How'd you hide from th' Talents...? In gestalt alone Peter can reach any one of us anywhere on Gaia or within the solar system. Mys swears Trel uninhibited can reach that far without help. bah... I'm babbling. I've just been so worried... we all have. Never thought... we would lose you like that. Never thought... you'd really want to leave. ... Hyne, 'Line!! I love you! I'm happiest when we're together... what's surviving without you?"

Dani smiled a bit wierdly at the comment and smiled as she then said "I see... well... umm... I can't exactly take anything off since well... these are pretty much the only clothes I have... If they got wet, I'd later be cold and would probably have to walk all the way home in the cold." Scooting a bit closer to the water to play around with it, she then said "I'll watch, perhaps, it should be fun."

Here's a piccy of da babeh heart http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/Eli_Duzell/IMG_0234.jpg )) His eyes glued still to the feline in his lap, the tension wouldn't reside in his back, sitting rigid and cold still rather then relaxed and content with his love. The approach of the look-a-like feline didn't really phase him, he was still in his dream land of beautiful green and golden hues that played out so beautifully in the feline's eyes before him, enjoying the flames painted over the gloss. Exchanged conversation between the females didn't even reach his ears, it was better to just ignore the mindless chatter and just enjoy the one thing he could in this horrid moment since her sister arrived... Chi. "Does it make you angry your sister has found love and you're just floating around mindlessly hating whatever happiness presents itself to your siblings?" He shot a cold glare once again to the sister after a moment of letting them speak. Her bitter disposition was irritating at the least, but she really seemed to have it out for Chi being happy it seemed. "I pushed Chi away, I did try and scrape her from my hip and leg as it were... all just to protect her. That's what people do when they love another person... they protect them. Not demean and punish them in the manner in which you do, dear sister of Chi." His eyes returning to Chi as his hand softly returned to coax her cheek, the back of his fingers dancing along her soft flesh slowly and softly as he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss upon her forehead. "I made my mistakes, but the important thing is that I'm willing to put aside my a*****e-ish-ness to make her happy because there's no use fighting my love. She knows the risk of loving me and she takes it blindly. Thankful for me, I can at least physically protect her as well from the harms that might present themselves from this twisted relationship. However I don't wish to bicker immaturely anymore and cause her more distress, so please; let's end this on a rather decent note?"

Hyne... she's gone all 'olde' talk again. Gently the Merge offered to translate but Zell heard none of it, focused so on the voice of the woman he loved through the door. He didn't really need them anyway, having gotten pretty accustomed to such talking before. It just... had been a while.
But it told him how much Maryline must really be hurting. Which made him feel like a total jerk. I'm hurting her! My angel! Dincht you really ARE an idiot!
Despite his self-depreciation Zell listened, quietly and intently, forcing himself to translate as he focused upon her voice. The bang of his fist echoed on the door beside his head as it dawned on him what her words were saying... and that he hadn't been there to protect her. Sure... his teachings had -thank Hyne for that- but...
"Go on." How he forced himself to speak the words was evident in his voice to any that knew him, and perhaps some that did not. He had to hear it all. More than that... he had to hear her voice. "Go on, 'Line."

"Jack." Zell said with soft gratitude. He remembered that... clear as anything. The undercover cop's deduction skills and thoughts with them being how they had found Maryline. "You're lucky you're so light, 'Line, and that he was in shape enough for the journey." It was both the lover and the SeeD that spoke, though the SeeD seemed more in control at the moment.

Strong clenched fists shifted to palms upon the door as if trying to reach the woman within and failing. Zell's head was hung, lower than before. "Maryline..." Had he known about the state of Dreia before? Zell could not remember. Seifer had, he was sure, but then the gunblader had been the one doing the most looking into of the Kingdom of Dreia because it was decided with Zell having been seen and known as the princess' protector he had best lay low. When had he learned about the way it was? He thought Seifer must have once mentioned it, quite likely cryptically. Like 'you wouldn't want to know, and neither would she' or something like that. Zell couldn't even remember when that had been, though it was after the two had come to trust each other in such matters because he had taken Seifer at his word and neither looked into it nor mentioned it to Maryline.
Maybe... Maybe I should have? "I'm sorry, 'Line." Anguish for her, thoughts of how he would feel seeing Balamb like this... and guessing that must be something like she was feeling -even if only a little.

How could this have happened Zell? >>The small sorry did little to soothe her remembered horror. She had pushed it aside to deal with a more noticable pain, but she could have never forgotten<< I spent my life taking care of this kingdom...just as my father, and my fathers father, and the king before him, and the one before. Everything must be rebuilt to save her now. The sewege system, the factories, the army, the marketing... >>Every word was another weight.
