i tried to find a cricket stick.. but unsurprisingly, the cricket equipment sections are lacking in most athletic goods stores here in sanfran. go figure..

First off, flying with twin babies ain't for sissies. They behaved fine, but holding a child in your lap in a cramped aircraft for extended periods of time is an endurance match.
Second, Kansas still sucks. Topeka is all abuzz about Fred Phelps little conclave of hate mongers losing a lawsuit. That bunch of bastards actually have a whole block to themselves tax free because they're a church. The family that won the lawsuit wants the land. I hope they bulldoze the entire thing with the Phelps under it.
Third, my father in law is an idiot. He can call himself a "free thinker" all he wants, that just means he's a nut. He thinks his book, "The Truth about Christianity and Politics" will be published and this will lead to a course of events that will end with him becoming a Senator. He's never held a public office, and he never will. Any bid for such will be doomed the moment he opens his mouth.
The only bright spots of the trip: they have cable so I could watch "Mythbusters", and spending time with her family has ended my wife's desires to move to Kansas.
