I posteded this in the Character backstories, but I figure it fits here too. Here's the background of my Wazzdakka stand-in, Zagblitz Badmek.

Zagblitz began his career as a roving mek, traversing the badlands of Khazak Prime in his heavily armed guntrukk, supplying outlaw bad doks with experimental bioniks, and peddling kustomized gunz at the various settlements. He might have continued this existence until his demise, and the entire Segmentum would have been better off, if not for his chance meeting with Wazzdakka.

Outside of one settlement, the two meks ran into each other as Wazzdakka made speed runs through the canyon that Zagblitz was navigating. A brief running battle erupted that quickly became a stalemate. Wazzdakka’s kustom bike was far too fast and agile for Zagblitz’ grot gunners to strike with the heavy dakkakannonz mounted on his truck. But at the same time, the dakkakannonz put out so much fire that Wazzdakka could not close to employ his dakkagunz or powerklaw without acquiring a prodigious set of ventilation holes. The stalemate was broken when the much abused canyon walls finally gave under the hammering fire of the dakkakannonz. The resulting avalanche buried both vehicles.

After crawling from the wreckage, both meks were suitably impressed with the other’s expertise. A bargain was stuck, and the fate of the segmentum was cast in those moments. In the following days the wreckage of both vehicles and Zagblitz’s stockpile of bionics, gunz and skrap were cannibalized, and a pair of truly awesome bikes began to take shape. Wazzdakka built the bikes’ chassis and engines, showing Zagblitz how the speediest bikes were built. Onto these massive bikes Zagblitz constructed sets of enormous dakkakannonz, revealing to Wazzdakka the secrets to making the shootiest gunz.

The first test runs was disastrous, with the bikes spinning wildly out of control or stopping in their tracks when the dakkakannons were fired. With their combined knowledge, a unique recoil absorption system was created for the bikes, powered by the fusion cores of the kustom mega-blastas left in Zagblitz’s stash of gunz. The system allowed the bikes to not only fire their gunz at full throttle with no control issues, but to fire a blast of searing plasma vented from the power core either as a weapon or as a particularly impressive way of dissuading pursuit. The bikes were finished the morning of the Race of Burning Wheelz, and the two meks tested their new creations by joining the race themselves.

The bikes performed amazingly well, being able to fire on other racers who where too focused on speeding over the terrain to fire back, and those attempting to fire back where left quickly in the dust as the turbo-charged, fusion powered monster bikes roared away at speeds few could match. Wazzdakka won easily, as he was familiar with bikes, and only had to change how he fired his new gunz, Zagblitz did not place, as he was adjusting to the feel of driving a bike instead of a truck, and spent most of the race eliminating other contestants with his dakkakannonz. The bettors cried foul over Wazdakka’s bike, as Zagblitz was forgotten and the angered mek used his new kannonz to tear up the settlement.

Years later, when Wazzdakka returned to call for his interstellar highway, Zagblitz was his first convert. On his Waagh!, Zagblitz has become one of Wazzdakka’s most trusted underbosses, and one of the few never replaced, as Zagblitz has proved to be one of the few Speed Freeks who can keep up with Wazzdakka’s breakneck advance.

In my opinion, the only thing that makes them worthwhile is the act that they can take the best tanks from all races. (not including skimmers, of course)

The Dethkoptas count as skimmers (jet bikes at least acording to the new codex). And as an army for 40K there pretty nasty once you look at the way they've been redone, the "Green Tide" special unit is almost impossible to break with thier 100+ orks including the warboss.

Skimmer is a Vehicle only rule (apart from the only exception of the Dark Eldar Talos), and it's not used by koptas since they don't count as skimmers in ANY way, just ordinairy Jetbikes.

I'm not sure where the misconception that Jetbikes are Skimmers comes from. I actually had a guy the other night try and tell me I could only hit the Master of Ravenwing on 6's because he was a skimmer. Jetbikes aren't skimmers, they're fancy bikes.

Sorry bout the being behind post thing, I just joined and was in a bit of a hurry to post before I left work, my bad. As for the dethcopta issue, there still neat to run despite not being "skimmers".

for orks y dont they hav initivitive of 4 instead of 2

On the practical side, they're hulking beasts loaded with muscle. Usually those types of beings aren't quite capable of making "snap reflex" movements. Also, the weapons that they use for close combat are fairly heavy (which is even referenced in the rules, given how their Choppas used to mess with saves).

On the gaming side, do you really want to fight initiative 4 Orks? They're high strength and toughness (unless I'm mistaken) and they all have the capability of multiple attacks. It would honestly just be that much harder to kill them and it would be something that would completely screw people in CC.

I might be way off, but that's my thought on why they aren't higher initiative.

Me myself think that was a stupid question, since if you look at orks (and orcs on that note) they don't look like they'd react on quick reflexes, they're big. green and tough, they don't need to avoid anything. domokun

But since fluff-wise stuff mostly makes it rule-wise it's just as Caleidah says.

And if you're at it, why don't orks have 3+ save? If you want to fight such monsters why don't you meet someone who play Chaos Space Marines with Mark of Khorne? cool

But my counter-question would be: Why shouldn't they have 2 instead of 4?

But with the new codex the orcs do have furious charge (+1 S & I on the charge) so nobs are I-4 on the charge.

Do you mean xXAkitoAndYurekaXx? He's the one who asked this question, and the plasma one. Meister Ratte, is just replying like Shinobi and Caleidah.

On that note, I didnt mind the plasma one, as at least we could argue someone was getting educated, though this one "why doesnt random unit have this arbitrary change in rules as opposed to their current rules" is pretty stupid.

I've edited my post to reflect what was going on, a double post with a full two minutes in between them. Just handing out a fair warning.
