I'd rather be mentally sharp... I'd rather be a floating brain in a jar, but aye, what can you do?

TheMessiah mind you i prayed for about 3 years before i lost complete faith. and in those 3 years it got worse and worse and worse. it wasnt until i became an Athiest did life get better for me....after 2 years of it.... in fact i remember the day i lost faith You know...some would say it was because "you didn't pray hard enough" or "you didn't pray long enough" or some ignorant claim like that...as if it were a religious elixer so to speak. I don't know what you prayer for, or how you prayed, or how bad things got...so I won't even make an attempt to tell you what you "should have done," because, frankly...it doesn't matter. No one can rewrite the past. The only thing I can think to speak of is the influence of God's enemy, who has a very...impressive power. I won't say that he played a part in your situation, nor will I say that he did not. His thoughts on how life should be lived are very enjoyable and happy to the human mind.

okay, i get it. satan wants you to enjoy your life while God wants you to be a subservient b***h and follow the rules placed down in a book that was written by some drunks people.
as for how HARD i prayed. haha, id like to say 2 things. that was back when i still cried like whiny baby. and 2, this discussion is over before i become and angry ********. and since im not sleeping tonight so i can wake up for church tomorrow, thats not a good thing ^_^

Satan... pfff.... simply a solution for man to have something to blame his wrong doings on when there's no one else to turn to.

Although I think that there may be some being controling stuff...I don't like the fact that my life is supposedly predestined, and I think that in the end...man created god to comfort himself to what happens after death. But I still don't know what to believe...

Quite ridiculous since he can never be held accountable for the actions of others. As he would probably put it..."I only suggested that they do it, they decided to do it." I guess that's why he's also referred to as the Great Tempter and the Father of Lies. (among other things) Or, in Shakespear's words (I believe): "The Prince of Darkness is a gentleman." *wonders if Shakespear knew the full "truth" behind his words*

Eh, I believe the godlike force has some sort of influence... there are no coincidences in my mind, man has free will to do as he pleases, there is some sort of "fate path" but it branches off into billions of possibilities, so it nearly might as well not be there. but it is.
That's my thought anyway.

That's my thought anyway. You know...that's a very interesting way of putting it. The only thing I would add is that the "godlike force" added guidelines (i.e. rules, laws, whatever) and also established consequences (both good and bad) for our actions. Free will is God's greatest gift and our greatest curse...that's one way I see it.

I think the only guideline is "If it do no harm to others or thyself, then you are free to do it"
and what goes around comes around wink
to ask anything more would be ridiculous, and a just god would know this.
