Excellent!
A few wraps, a few loops, a few motions later and Maximos had a sling over his shoulder with his facing down, and his two polearms facing up. Was it heavy? One really couldnt tell, Maximos seemed mostly alright. He smiled and spun around to face Ryugi.
I like this city already, now where did you say I could find a magical tome or two?

Ryugi chuckled a bit.
I didn't. Most magic here in Angara is elemental in nature, and not much is cast per se. So you probably won't have much luck in the way of tomes. However I know of a place away from the city where you might be able to gain some insight into Angaran elemental practices. But for now, you might be interested in looking at magical items perhaps. THOSE I'm SURE we can find around here somewhere.
Ryugi would motion for Max to follow him and the pair would set out looking for a magical item shop. When they found one, Ryugi would sit back and let his friend do the talking and the shopping. Magical items weren't Ryugi's general area of interest as he was focussed more on physical combat and elemental energy usage. But perhaps his friend would find something of interest.

Excellent! Perhaps we can visit there later.
Elemental practices, magic spells, same thing depending on who you ask. Maximos wanted to know the magical ways of these dragons, and if that was the form they took, then that was his goal. But, magical items....not so much.
I think I may have to many of those.
Maximos said, laughing to himself. Magical trinkets filled some rooms of his house, some were even disguised as regular decorations. It wasnt his fault persay, Walter simply had an enormous collection.
But, perhaps we can find a place where I can buy some Dragonsteel? I'm looking for a block about this big.
He gestured with his hands forming a block about the size of the average brick. He didnt need this for a weapon after all.

Well, I'll see what I can remember, but I think the material shops are located inside the city.
Ryugi would stop and turn to face his friend as he spoke.

Shall we head into the city?
He said, his head somewhat cocked to the side.

It seems like that's where we're headed. Get your stuff and we'll get moving.
Ryugi grinned and offered a hand to help his friend with his heavy load.

Maximos gave a stout nod, and heaved the load one more time adjusting the roping so it didnt chafe quite as much. Kindly, he declined the offer. They werent that heavy, or maybe it was because he was fresh and could use the exercise.
In an hour or two he may have felt entirely different, but for now he was perfectly happy tugging the load, meeting any odd looks with a smiles, an following Ryugi.

Ryugi shrugged and began to make his way into the city, Maximos in tow. The City of Elders was a lovely place. The buildings were all white, the ground was covered in light gray cobblestones, and there were people all over the place. And above it all at the far end of the city stood the Hall of Elders, where the High Council of Angara had their meetings. Ryugi did his best to keep a low profile, but all around people would point and wave, or say something, or call out to him. Ryugi would bashfully wave and try to avoid as much attention as he could, but there were just that many people.
After a short time the pair would find themselves not at the shopping section of the city, but at one of the city's many inns. Before entering the building, Ryugi would turn to Maximos and speak.
We'll get ourselves checked into the inn for the night, get our rooms, drop off that baggage of yours, and THEN we'll make our way into the shopping district. Sound like a plan my friend?

Maximos had to agree, which he showed with a nod and a quick.
Indeed!
He had quite the auspicious load, and while Ryugi was something of a celebrity and that did bring unwanted attention, Maximos couldnt escape the idea that the giant metal blade sticking up behind him didnt have its hand in their constantly being found by Ryugi's adoring public.
Do you know an Innkeeper here too?
Maximos said, adjusting the strap once again. Alot of traveling usually resulted in a lot of acquaintances, it was fully possible!

Actually, I don't!
Ryugi laughed and grinned afterwards. He was some form of celebrity around the area, but even he had his limits to who he knew in this place.
But I've heard this inn has good prices for rooms and the like.
*Ryugi would then enter the inn along with his friend, and pay for both of their rooms, which were comped due to his celebrity status, but Ryugi insisted that the innkeeper get a large tip for his generosity. After the pair would enter their rooms and drop off any excess luggage they might have had, Ryugi would pick up his friend, and they'd both head out into the streets, moving on their way to the shopping district.*
Heh... While I may not know THEM, they all seem to know ME it seems.

Maximos followed, he tried to dodge glances in the crowds, and remain incognito, though that was nearly impossible. He felt so very much like the shadow, following behind a dragon of light. Soon, they were in their rooms, and Maximos would set down each of his weapons, laying them across the bed on the sheets in which they came.
They were each very important to him. He could almost see exactly what they would become.
Feeling a bit more comfortable with his pockets in a city, Maximos decided to leave behind his bag, instead only bringing his jewel pouch and a smile. He was traveling with light luggage, and a light heart. With a stout nod and a bright smile, he followed his good friend out into the city. Several times he nearly lost Ryugi in a crowd as a beautiful structure, or a very unique aura hooked his eyes and locked him in place. There was only one city this advanced on all of Aria and Maximos had only seen it twice, he would take the time to enjoy every detail. He would even toss a nod to a few of the people to rush up and greet Ryugi!
The shopping district. He'd never seen one of those before, he was excited!

After a bit more walking, Ryugi finally rounded a corner. The sight that would greet Maximos would likely be as close to Heaven on Earth as it could get for a weapon and item enthusiast.
There, up ahead, were blocks upon blocks of shops. For every shop one could imagine, this place seemed to have at LEAST two of them. There were weapon shops for almost every types of weapon one could think of, potion shops for numerous elixirs and concoctions, magic shops with magical items, trinkets and collectible items, antique shops with antiques dating back millennia from numerous ages, bookstores with books older than human civilization itself, gardening shops with flora spanning the length of Angara, and food stands of every size with goods from every corner of Angara. There were armor shops to meet any picky person's needs, clothing stores with unique attire for humanoids and dragons alike, specialty shops for arts, crafts, smithing, forging, and at least one erotic locale, music shops with instruments, songs, ballads, and epics older than even Eclipse, tours of the city and all of its finest and most interesting places, banks (as Angaran dragons were very good savers), and a multitude of others that simply couldn't be seen form their vantage point.
Ryugi would turn to face his friend and smile, motioning to the collection of shops and things and speaking.
Maximos, welcome to the City of Elders Shopping District.

He couldnt contain himself, he couldnt even pretend to. This large a group...it showed. Maximos didnt really know what to do, he wanted to shop but...crowds...comfortability, such is the price of being a hermit. He wouldnt shop long, seemingly like something of a ninja. He would grab as many books as his pack could hold, a few rare magical ingredients, scrolls, a standard magical shopping list, with a dragonic flare. In total, Maximos was likely shopping about...30 minutes. And in the end, he would likely accomplish his goal of retrieving a block of Dragonsteel ore.
Unless of course, something got in his way.

Ryugi would do everything he could to keep up with his speeding friend, following him everywhere he went. How Maximos managed to shop so much so quickly in this crowd of people, Ryugi couldn't comprehend. But hey, at least he wound up getting that Dragonsteel he'd wanted for so long, and a small library of books too!
I don't think I've ever been on a faster shopping spree.
Ryugi would look a little winded as he looked at his friend, chuckling.

Maximos gently slid his hood back.
Sorry.
He said, with a shy half smile.
I dont do well in large compact crowds...
He nervously flipped his pack around searching its insides to make sure he hadnt forgotten or missed anything. Ryugi would get something of a glimpse of how Shadow-like Maximos really was. He had darted through the crowd like a ghost, those that saw him saw only his back, a side. Those that felt him, would turn to see nothing in their wake. Even the shopkeepers might only remember the figure that was there, and gone just as quickly, easily forgotten.
He would make an epic thief, if he was inclined to that sort of thing, but he was not.
....the voices, the souls, the scattered combined fragments of dark, its all a bit...overwhelming.
He very shyly scratched the back of his head.
