While normally gate guard duty was a pain in the a** for anbu. They often saw it as something the newbie gennin and the occasional jounin could handle. But that was right about the time when Lord Chosokabe outright ordered them to maintain security, and so here they were.. Of the eight, two were in the guardhouse to the right, two were in the guardhouse to the left. Two more were stationed quite literally on the wall hidden with an active camouflaging ninjutsu, of the maruton variety. One, their sensor, was quite literally hiding in a hole in the ground on the village side of the gate under the road. While the captain, a man with a slightly unhappy kitsune mask, stood fully in the open on the village side of the gate. To his own right and left were two normal guards of the gennin variety. Though frankly, they were about as useful as breasts on a boar. However when the sensor picked up on a small ping he reported it to the captain who then ordered the gates be opened. To which they saw Axel, simply standing there, weapons at his feet. Kitsune approached and spoke clearly and calmly,"Axel Storn, Exile. Why have you violated your sentence?" Raising his hand one of the anbu in the leftmost guardhouse made himself known before disappearing with a puff of static discharge.

Well, they hadn’t attacked me yet. That was a relief. He asked what was I doing here, which was a fair question, though honestly, I didn’t know what I was doing here, though after some thought, I realized that I missed home. My parents were gone, my land was gone, and where those mountains were I built a temple, a mausoleum, a fort, in the memory of my sisters, my mother, and yes, even in memory of my father. It was his statue, half stone and half metal, that announced that they were on hallowed ground. At least, that’s what I wanted it to mean. My arms folded over my chest as my mind flew from the temple to the gates of the village hidden in the clouds, from my mindscape to reality, and I took a moment to answer. I exhaled in defeat. “I’m here because Kaileer banished me to learn a lesson. I think I learned it. I’m here to prove to him that that is the case.” I took a moment to chose my next words carefully, my arms dropped to my side and I lowered my head slightly, a motion that might have evoked tiredness on my behalf. Defeat. “Honestly…” My voice trailed a bit at the end of the word, I tried to clench my fists, but I felt the energy, the spunk and fire had, momentarily, left my body for what felt like could have been forever. “I just miss my home.”

While the grumpy Kitsune could sympathize with the man it wasn't his call in all honesty to let the man in. Though when the other anbu re-appeard in the same puff of static, Grumpy Kitsune nodded,"Lord Sandaime will see you. Hes in the dojo debriefing an away team. Take your weapons and follow koi here." He gestured to the anbu with the koi fish mask.
Finally addressing the other man who had been waiting for quite some time, Grumpy Kitsune nodded,"And what exactly do you want again?"

I would offer a nod to the masked ANBU, slowly bend down to pick up my belt. My hands were shaking, I realized, I was nervous, so so nervous, I could hardly believe it. Once the belt was safely around my waist, I sighed, and followed the masked ANBU into the village to meet Kaileer once again.

It didn't take very long at all to reach the gates. When a shinobi escorted caravan was moving down the streets people tended to get out of the way. Kumo was no stranger to war and in the aftermath it was no stranger to the necessity of swift military movement. At the gates, she handled logging the info with the guards. Details such as the names of those in their party and their expected date of return were handed over and logged at the gates. Once the all clear was given by the guards they moved out swiftly. Once they crossed the threshold of the canyon that protected the entrance, Mizuki began to use her chakra to boost the power of her natural sense for chakra. With the amount she was giving it for now, they'd effectively have a heads up of two and a half miles for chakra signatures. ___Kaneo zipped out of the gate, hot on Mizuki's heels, off to start the next phase of their mission. He had some neat ideas up his sleeve, but for now he focused on helping to keep the a** end of the caravan orderly and coordinated with the front. Hardly a valor filled role, but he was fine with it as he trudged his way down the path out of the village. They could start actively scanning for threats when they were clear of the village's influence. [Enter/Exit]

Back at the gates of the village they would soon arrive at their final destination. Of course first they had to check in with the guards and get cleared for entry. That process took several as Mizuki handled some paperwork, everyone had their identity checked, and some simple scans were done of their cargo. The monkey sages bounded from the floating rocks, moving in a weird sync that looked like both a dance, a race, and random all in one. When they landed in the proximity of the gates, they offered a nod to the Anbu, who delivered the news that Shiro was delivering a speech. Hino and Oro had evidently also left their things in the ruins, since the transformation process took some time.

Four Anbu stood separate from the rest. Two of themw ere decked out in heavy armor, arms crossed and masks each depicting a flaming monkey. Flanking them were two less geared anbu,one bearing a Snake head mask, the other the mask of an roaring dragon. Osiris was prepared to leave, a pair of karambit knives being played with by the large, armored twins, nagianata on their backs, machetes at their hips, and a coiled scythe and chain on their inside hips. The operation would begin as soon as Shiro gathered his forces.
