San smiled and ruffled Al's hair a little. This kid had placed the team before his personal health. Someone who had team work like that was surely a friend in sans book. But he still had lesson...
"Look at Mr. Big Hero here! Good job with that shakuton stuff little buddy! But dont over exert yourself like that. The results were good this time, but next time you may be a hinder to the team during either combat or the extraction. Sometimes we choose techniques and attacks that maim instead of kill...make the enemy work extra hard to get their mission done or give up in general. If you maim yourself, you just become a hinder. Sounds like a plan eh? So whats up?"

Bast hopped over a piece of timber and called over some of the diligent workers clearing the area of the rubble. She let them take scoops of rice from the steamer, and moved in to the shade of the Academy, following San's Chakra signature.
"Hello~?" she called, looking for those who had restored the Academy in such a short amount of time. Upon spotting San and Al, she and the Princess made their way over to them. "Oi! Sorry for earlier, I've brought lunch. Where are james and that other boy? Are they around too?"
As she spoke, she summoned up a folding table, next to which the Princess set the huge rice steamer, and some chairs. After she finished her question, she pulled out four rice bowls, four sets of disposable chopsticks, and the set of gourmet sauces that her sister had sent at some time during the night.

San smiled as Bast arrived and walked around he table to pull her chair for her. She may have been a ninja, and a scary one at that, but also a lady and his mentor as well as San being an educated gentleman would understand certain codes of conduct. If Bast came over and "lowered" herself enough to apologize and bring food, then San could at least lower himself and offer the same amount of courtesy a respect. Besides, he was hungry! And this food smelled good!
"Its quite alright Sensei. With perfect 20/20 hind-sight i can see where our conflict arose at. Like the additions a put to the university? It should withstand floods and tsunamis better...how often that they are going to occur. Anyways, thank you for the food."
The konin would motion for the other two to sit down as well, as He took a seat himself. Speaking, the ninja waited for Bast sensei to serve herself first.
"So, im guessing my Miatari golem got you the automatons? You find anything fun with them?"

"No problem. I'll warn you in advance, though, that I haven't had these sauces before. They came from my sister overnight, it seems," Bast warned cheerily as she served up large lumps of rice to each bowl. "Yes, I got the automaton. It seemed to function like a combination of Kugutsu and genuine automaton technology, and was receiving orders without any visible Chakra going in between the transmitter and receivers."
The woman's stomach growled as she shut the rice steamer once more. The Princess sat down in a corner and tried to stay away from anything unstable, and amused herself by listening to the conversation and watching Bast devour her first bowl of rice with only a few drops of each sauce sprinkled on different portions of the food.
"The fortifications are nice, especially given the circumstances. I'm not sure how much of a problem flooding will be in the future, though," the woman said, retrieving more rice. "We might be able to move some of the displaced people in here until we finish reconstruction."

San bowed slightly as Bast filled his bowl. He tried a drop or two of the sauces too, following Bast's lead on how to eat the food. Replying the ninja would speak inbetween bite fulls of the awesome food, still inquiring about the automatons and the reconstruction.
"Yeah...never thought you would need flood insurance in the middle of a desert huh. Thats interesting about the automatons. Does that speak anything specific about it? Ever seen a technique like that?"

Bast nodded, picking up one of the sauce containers and coating half of her rice with it. She followed this with another sauce, which covered the other half. Before responding, she used her chopsticks to pop a wad of rice in to her mouth.
"I'm still confused by how the farmers manage to grow anything out here, I really am," she said, popping another bite of rice in to her mouth as she finished. "It means the automatons are likely all run from the same power source. I've seen something like it, but on a slightly larger scale. We have one of their machines, now, though. The person using them will probably stick back for a long time in the hopes that we'll forget about them. I wish I had the facilities to run some more tests, but that will likely have to wait until I run in to my sister."

San nodded, asking for more rice from his mentor. He puzzled and searched his brain for an answer and a concept that could help Bast.
"Its interesting....very interesting. If there is anything i can do to help, let me know. I Know james was talking about going back into the city to search for survivors. But i think i gotta stay back and help with the recovery effort. Has the aquaduct and resevuer fixed yet?"

"No one has been dispatched to Rouran, nor has anyone fixed the aqueducts outside the Village or to the port cities. I'm heading out there tonight to fix the place up, along with ten or eleven Jounin and Chuunin. Honestly, I'll probably leave them to the aqueducts and the port cities since there are so many of them," Bast responded, scarfing down some more rice. "The reservoir is draining with the rest of the water until it gets back down to its normal height. On the positive side of all of this, we now have canals along with eight more reservoirs. Those magical farmers can have all the water they need."

San spoke quickly, nodding and offering a slight chuckle as she spoke about the "magical farmers." as true as it was, San still found her sarcasm funny.
"Yeah, thats true. I guess lemons from lemonaid right? well cool. Any project you need me to do?"

Bast shook her head and finished off her bowl of rice. She began helping herself to some more, with plenty still left.
"Nothing but the Village restoration project," she stated. "Oh, but if anything weird shows up at the Gates while I'm out, just send it to my house. It's probably from Joan, if it shows up out of nowhere."

"In the evening," Bast responded. "Nothing like a good old nighttime stroll in the desert to appreciate the warmth of the day."
The woman splashed sauce on her rice, and put another splash on top of that. The room smelled like rice, and her particular bowl smelled mostly of garlic with the new sauces she added. She quickly started to eat, showing no signs of slowing down.

San too began to woof down some of his food, enjoying and savoring the tastes and feeling his chakra increase. He hadnt realized how tired he was, and how much the whole time had taken out of him. Nodding, the ninja finished his bowl and began another bowl.
"Agreed. The nights are fairly relaxing when they stay above freezing...."

Bast nodded and clapped. Mononoke appeared with a steaming pot of tea, and poured a cup for the woman before placing the kettle on a stand in the middle of the table. The woman blew on the tea and took a gulp of it before moving on to another bowl of rice.
"Yep," she responded between mouthfuls of the sticky rice. "You know, this is the best rice I've had in a long time. Maybe it's because I was starving earlier."

The konin took the pot himself and produced a cup to poor his tea. Chuckling as to hide his sarcasm, the ninja took a sip of tea and continued to down his rice.
"Starving you say...i would never have noticed. I too am rather starving and glad you brought this food. Good food build strong people. If we are to rebuild the village, i think we will need ALOT more food like this. Your sister you say? I cant say i have ever met her.....whats her name?..."
