"There it is!" Kimmi cried as she dropped Kay's hand and undid the belt holding her sai's in place. She quickly undid the buckles around her leg and dropped them to the ground, throwing her shoes over them followed by her tank top and pants. Without waiting for a word from Kay she dove it. The icy water felt wonderful against her feverish skin. She surfaced with a sigh and just floated for a moment. "Relax Kay she's in the middle of a camp full of gunners and other people with weapons. He won't do anything." She left out that he was well aware that she would hunt him down if he did.

We're not as different as you think, Luke thought as Kay left, but he didn't say anything. Of course, the master and his people wouldn't tell him to much about the process, but he knew that much of the technology used on Kay had been used on him and those after him. Only, it was supposedly "improved". Kay wasn't obedient to the master, and therefore a dangerous threat. He had been sure to change that with future experiments. Luke still didn't know what that meant strength-wise though.
He turned to look at Khana then. she looked like she needed sometime to think, so he said, "Do you want me to leave right now Khana?" she nodded, and he opened the tent flap. "We'll talk later, yes?" she nodded again, and he left now.
Luke had made sure no one was looking at Khana's tent, and he streaked over to an empty one he thought might be Kimmi's. No one but the three girls knew he was there, or what he was, and for the moment, he planned to keep it that way.


Khana just stood there and nodded at Luke until he left. She lay down on the bed roll and stared up. She tried to sort everything out, and make sense of everything Luke had told her, but the whiskey was still buzzing in her head, if much less now. At least she had a high tolerance, or the amount she had would've have been much worse...

Kay surfaced for a little bit before heading back under to leave Pinky to stare at the stars. As she was heading toward the bottom of the lake, Kay was hit with something that felt like a ton of brick on the inside. She doulbed over under water as it squeezed her heart and clouded her mind. Yesssss... Let usssss goessss... releasssssse ussssss.... Kay swallowed water, NO! Kay arched her back, silently screaming under water. NO! The vice on her heart tightened before slowly releasing. Kay laied back exhasted under the water. It didn't fool Kay, it hadn't gone it was still there. Lurking below the surface...

Kay blinked and turned her head slowly toward Pinky when she felt a tug at her arm. She flipped around under the water and slowly made her way back to the surface, wondering why Pinky had looked so insistant about her coming back to the surface. She hadn't been under that long... Had she?

Fillup started suddenly, a knife leaping into his hand. At some point, he'd fallen asleep, and obviously slept for a good while. He shook his head and hid the knife, so the few littl ones around would not see it. He didn't want them to ask their parents why Fillup was carrying a knife around when you can't kill a zombie with such a paltry weapon.
"Sarg?" Fillup asked, looking around "Kimmi? Khana? Kay?" he looked around the camp, seeing a few smiles from others of his band, but many had drawn faces Hope will come sometime... he thought. He noticed Shadow, lounging among a group a little kids who patted and petted him. There were other cat-beast as well, finding comfortable spots to lounge.

Fillup scowled and stood, stretching a bit "I thought we got rid of....." he grumbled something and waved a hand to dismiss it from his mind "Where are they?" he asked checking to see if his pistol was on is belt. He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to clear the sleepiness from his mind. He realized how long he'd gone without sleep, deciding it was probably a good thing he had drifted off earlier.

"I wasn't drowning... I wasn't down there that long." Kay stated simply. A little wary about weither it was going to put up a fight again. Kay lay back onto her back and floated onto of the water.

Sighing, Kay finally turned and swum back to shore and started putting her clothes back on. She didn't know how she felt about putting herself around people now that she knew for sure something was inside of her...Something evil. "I think I'll stay in the woods tonight." Kay commented offhandly, trying to sound casual.
