It was an hour before the doctors came to get them. Ryou was informed that her fever had broke but she still was very sick and weak.

"Can we see her?" Ryou asked eagerly, after shooting Khalid a dark look that clearly read; this is your fault.

"Of corse" the doctor said. He gave ryou the room number before leaving.

Ryou practically dragged Khalid with him as he went to Kira's room. Khalid stopped Ryou just before they entered. "Ryou, I wouldn't have done it if I knew there was another way out. It's impossible for me to determine who or when--"
"I don't want your excuses." Ryou snapped, pushing away Khalid's hands. "All I want is to make sure my wife is okay." Both he and Khalid froze; the word had slipped out of Ryou accidentally. He had never called Kira that, and there was no reason for him to. They had never been married before. He must have just been thinking... ahead.
"Ryou..." Khalid said softly, his voice quavering slightly. Ryou turned away without another word and entered Kira's room. Khalid could do nothing but follow him.

Kira was sitting up slightly in bed. She was looking over her hand. it was odd to only have one eye agian. The left side of her face was bandaged and she was in a hospital gown. Feeling too tired to keep her arm up she rested it on the bed. When ryou walked in she couldent help but smile.

"It was just a slip." Ryou snapped at Khalid, before seeing Kira was awake. "I know I'm married to you, but always used to think of her as--" He was cut off when Khalid pulled him close, giving him a sudden and somewhat violent kiss. RYou's eyes widened when he noticed Kira was awake, and pushed Khalid away, giving her a smile. "You're awake." He said, happily. Khalid gave her a slight glare. "You feeling better?"

"Not realy" Kira said. "Apparently the doctors think im dying." Kira sighed looking up the the celing.

"You already did." Khalid said unhelpfully. Ryou gave him a sharp look, and Khalid blinked. "Earlier today, remember? I just didn't think dying would be a big deal anymore for you."

"It's not really..." Kira said. She had become used to it.
"She should be used to it by now" Luci said. He was sitting in a chair in a corner. Kira dident seem to freaked out by him at the moment.
"Dying much easier when your high...." Kira comment.
"you wanna be high?"
"no not really."
"then shut your trap"

Ryou turned to look at Khalid, and the two seemed to have a silent conversation from their glanced. Ryou shifted closer to Khalid when they were finished, and the man wrapped an arm around Ryou's waist. "Kira, I will not apologize for what I did, because it had to be done. I believe I made up for it by bringing you here. But, really, we must be going now. Ryou has been rather traumatized today. It would be good if we left now." Ryou's eyes had taken on a somewhat hollow look; he nodded absently in agreement to what Khalid said.

"Bye...." Kira said softly. "Yes I have to say you are very boring. I will be leaving." luci said dissapeering.

Ryou and Khalid were fast asleep. Khalid had a protective, possessive arm wrapped around Ryou and was holding the boy close. Ryou hadn't been in the mood for affection, but Khalid had managed to persuade the boy into it anyway.

Soon the phone started ringing. It was loud in the quiet of the night.

Ryou's eyes snapped open at the shrillness. He glanced over at Khalid, who seemed to still be asleep. He slipped out of his husband's sleeping grasp and stumbled over to the phone, picking it up. In a whisper, he asked, "Hello?" He sounded a little irritated; who would call at a time like this?
