"I...I hit him!" Kira said sitting up "I...cant ever rember why....I was just so mad...I socketed him in the face....and just started running.." Kira leaned back on the tree "holy crap I hit him!"

Ryou smiled a little and leaned forward, patting Kira's hand. "I hit Yugi. That wasn't why I ran. Kawi and Yugi refused to give me Kai back and Khalid was throwing a little fit over it. I think he wants to kill me." Ryou hesitated. "Khalid, not Yugi."

Ryou blinked. "Well, I don't want you to be hurt either." He protested. Why did she have to worry about him all the time? "You're the one in more danger. Khalid wouldn't really kill me." He paused, and then a sudden thought popped into his mind. He wasn't able to keep it silent. "By the way... why didn't you tell me what he was doing?"

Kira was quiet for a moment looking down. "he...He threatend Kai...I...I would rather let him hurt me...then to ever let anything happen to kai..."

Ryou let out a sigh, and moved to Kira, pulling her into his arms. "I can understand. But, according to Yugi adn especially Kawi, I'm not fit to watch after him. He is probably safer with them, but... Now I just feel useless. I was just never as strong as you. But I can understand why you wouldn't... Kai means a lot to you."

"Ryou...you meen alot to me too...I dont think your useless." Kira quietly rested in his arms. Youcould tell she was much thinner and more frail then she used to be.

Ryou closed his eyes and took in a shuddering breath. "Kira... I know I haven't really expressed it as much as I should have, but..." He hesitated. Bakura was suddenly straining for control. "I love you. I always will. I... I just wish things weren't as complicated."

Ryou chose to do something he hadn't since her first day back. Turning Kira so that she was facing him, Ryou kissed her. He was very careful, and made sure he restrained himself enough.

Kira had been a bit surprized at first. She hadent exspected him to do that. After a moment she returned the kiss smiling.

Ryou ached with mental exhaustion and bruises from where Khalid had grabbed him too tightly, and also from the run, but all of that was forgotten. They were already on the ground, and Ryou shifted into a more comfortable position so that Kira was half laying down and he was a little over her.

"So am I." Ryou said, his voice shaking slightly with emotion. He was still torn about what to do. Kira had always been strong, almost always been there for him. She could be fine on her own, though. Their relationship had so many problems in the past. Khalid always made it known clearly one way or another what he was thinking. Though he knew he wouldn't have admitted it, Khalid had depended on Ryou, in some way. Ryou hadn't yet figured out why or in what way. "We had better enjoy this while it lasts, though."

"hmmhmm" Kira said her eyes shutting. She was exsausted both mentaly and physicly.
