Luana broke away from him and went to the table where she had sat with Luke. Sitting there was the card, just as she had left it. She gingerly picked it up.
"I reviewed the footage of the crash several times, and even examined the wreckage myself. I was down in one of the sublevels for three days with no food, sleep, or sun. I was trying to figure out what went wrong." She walked back to him and presented the card. "When I examined it from the inside, I found this."

:::Kal took the card, instantly noticing the bit of blood smeared on it. He had to surpress a shudder. On the card was a man, and what seemed to be a creature from a long time ago, and an ancient peice of machinery...and a word in an old language he couldn't read...it was probably english:::
:::he handed it back to Luana after a moment of inspection:::
What does that say?

She took it back with her left hand, which was still wrapped in its bandage.
"It says 'risk'. It's a board game where the players use little plastic armies to take over the world. I've played a couple of times." She slipped it into a back pocket. "Why it was in there I don't know, yet."

:::He was a bit confused about what signifigance the card had in leading concluding that it may not have been an accident.:::
You think it may mean...

"I don't know what it means yet, but I do know that there was nothing wrong with the flyer that would make it do what it did, and my father was trying to stop the launch only a moment before the crash." The tears stopped. "He knows something, and I intend to find out what." She took a breath. "But I'd rather not talk about it any more."

:::He nodded slowly, understanding. He appeared very concerned as he stood there silently, looking at her. It was obvious, that she was hurt... and he really hated it. He hated to see it in anyone, but Luana... he especially didn't want this for her:::
Is there anything...I can do for you?

Luana thought about it. "Could you just stay for a while? I hadn't realized how much I would miss human contact."

Luana sat down in a nearby chair and gestured for Kal to do the same. "So, how have you been doing? You seemed kind of low when you faded in."

:::K sighed deeply as he joined her in a seat:::
I'm not sure... how to explain what's been going on.
:::He rubbed the back of his neck:::
I mean, it's just screwed up, beyond recognition. I didn't know it was going to get this way by coming to the brink.

Maybe...
:::He thought again:::
Have you met a woman here, she goes by Melliandra. Very long hair, a bit lighter than mine. She uhm... tends to be...
:::he tried his best not to say 'a b***h', and thought of the more diplomatic word for it...what did they call his sister?::::
abrasive.

"Yeah, I remember." She glanced at the bar, near the spot where they had met. "She tried to destroy X12. Why?"

"X12. He's this little robot that my father's company is going to make in about a hundred years, or something. She wanted to break him open."
