Soranoko That is one hell of a tip. gonk heart Is it from the guy who was asking me about you? Do I get advertising charges? biggrin Haha. Kidding. But seriously. Somebody did PM me to ask who the artist of my signature was just before I put everyone's in a rando. (Well, everybody's but Urby. Don't feel left out, dear, I'm just saving yours for April. I don't want idiots leaving birthday comments in my profile year-round! xp )

Damn I like S.S.H. Sometimes the songs are unrecognizable and a little bland, but when they're good they're really good.

I am eagerly awaiting the new Kirby game. I wanna be Wolverine Kirby!
Then I got to thinking how he had that weird slimy girlfriend who sat on his head in that one game. And how creepy she was and that Jigglypuff would be a much better match.
Then I realized that, somewhere on the internet, there is probably Kirby x Jigglypuff slash. And I cried.

http://jeris.tblog.comI'm tired of being forced to live with the guy who sexually assaulted my girlfriend and sexually harassed a few others... AND HE HAS A HISTORY. A BAD HISTORY. YET I HAVE TO STAY IN A DORM WITH HIM. RIGHT.

With any sort of aesthetic revolution, there are people who can't accept change. Be that a new Gaia layout, or a strange new fashion trend, or this unspeakably vulgar genre we call "rap & hip-hop" that make our moms gasp.
It's easier to "ride the wave" of revolution [follow the trend AFTER it becomes popular] instead of SETTING the new trend and risking public rejection...
But hey - welcome to the 21st century. Mozart's a dead language.
I've been looking into concert music of the 20th century - OUR century. Stravinsky. Schoenberg. Shostakovich. Even later - John Adams. Oliver Messiean. Guys who are STILL ALIVE and making the history books before our eyes.
But really... this stuff makes Mozart sound really, really boring.
Classics from the 17-1800's were influenced by rural countryside, mythology, social classes, the beauty of nature, simpler times.
Our world today is completely different, and our concert music reflects it. Atonal, ambiguous, very unpleasant sounds. Like abstract art. Our century's about wars, wars, wars. The apocolypse. Global warming. Epidemics. Technology and morals. The apocalypse.
Contemporary classics... very dark stuff.
Music is always evolving... back then, they discovered tonality, and after they got bored with Haydn, they discovered chromaticism. And after they got bored with Brahms, they moved onto impressionism, then modernism. Now, I don't think music is even about melodies anymore. We're really hit a turning point, where the very FOUNDATION of music as we know it is toppling.
It's fascinating.
You know how pre-med students are eventually troubled by traditional morals VS technology? I think music students are the same way - we're troubled by constantly changing aesthetics and fear the future.
