Gripes about HG/SS:
1) Battle Frontier is identical to Platinum in almost every way. I was hoping Loreli or Agatha would be a Frontier Brain.
2) They've changed the Game Corner games from slots to some minesweeper-like thing for all non-Japanese copies. Couldn't they have changed one Game Corner and not both? (Maybe they only did change one though)
3) Ginji got a copy before he was supposed to.
4) Mystery Gift no longer exists as it did originally.

The ORIGINAL Mystery Gift used the GBC's infrared port to generate gifts between two games. You could randomly get decorations, berries, or other items. Mystery Gift as it is NOW ... is for the event pokemon giveaways, etc. I don't know if there's something similar to the original MG in HG/SS. Possibly using the Pokewalkers?

I think they basically replaced the Mystery Gift from GSC to the pokewalker in HGSS. I really hope that either in this game or the next they fix the GTS so you can see ANY pokemon... most pokemon they only way you can trade for them is hacking the pokedex which is lame gonk
