Kawi walked over helping with khalid.

Ryou hesitated, looking at Khalid, but didn't ry to pull away from Ember. He followed her obediently, and Yugi hoisted Khalid's arms up as Kawi took the feet. He didn't see any other way to carry him. Thgey were shortly behind Ember and Ryou.

Ember soon opened the door to yugi's appartment and led him in.

Atem had gone to another part of the apartment, and Ryou relaxed a little more. He watched silently as Yugi and Kawi hauled Khalid inside. Yugi had a little trouble deciding where the man should go, and decided on the couch. He set Khalid down there, and quickly left to get a few towels to make sure no blood would stain the couch.

Ember led ryou over to sit in chair. "i will be ok ryou..."ember told him.

"It never is..." Ryou said pathetically. "It gets better at times, but it always becomes bad again. It's never 'okay'." He brought his knees to his chest and hugged his legs.

It was about a half hour until Khalid began to breathe again. Ryou had stayed exactly where he had been, but perked up instantly when he noticed his husband's chest rising and falling. He left his spot on the chair and sat on the floor next to the couch Khalid was on. At least he was alive now.
Yugi noticed after a while that his yami had left the apartment completely. He decided to give Ryou a little room, and kept himself busy in the kitchen, cleaning the counters over and over again. He felt very nervous without his yami around, but knew it would be better for when Khalid woke up.

Ember paced the hallway in kawi's appartment. Atem wouldent answer his cellphone and his bugged her. She couldent help but worry about him somtimes. Kawi was trying to get ember to relax and sit down.

It was another maybe ten minutes before Khalid regained consciousness. Ryou let out astartled cry of pleasure when he opened his eyes and started to sit up, looking a little confused but very alert. The violet-haired man was stopped from sitting up fully by Ryou, who hugged him tightly around his middle. "You took too long! You really worried me. Are you better now?"
"Yes, I'm... fine..." Khalid said, pushing Ryou away gently but firmly and sitting up all the way. He rubbed at his forehead, where some dried blood remained, but the wound was gone. "Atem shot me?" He asked, looking at the dried blood on his fingertips. Ryou nodded, and Khalid's eyes flashed coldly. "Wonderful. Where is he?" Ryou began to protest, and Khalid gave up with a sigh. "Right. No getting angry at the pharaoh. I'm sure he shot me because he was aiming for a fly. Anyway, what about Luci and Kira?"

"Emmmber pplleease sit down! I'll get you somthing to eat...Wecan play a game!" kawi offered to ember who was cometly ignoring her and pacing the hallway chewing on her thumbnail.

Ryou wasted no time in explaining to Khalid what was going on. The older man tried to stand but was wobbly, so Ryou had to support him. Khalid didn't like having to rely on a person, and tried to act nonchalant about it. He wrapped his arm around Ryou's waist and was the one tugging the other male around. He went to the hallway, hearing Kawi address Ember. "Where is Atem?" Khalid asked instantly, and Ryou sighed.

"We don't know" kawi said. Ember still ignored all of them and contiuned pasing.

"Ember, calm down." Khalid snapped, feeling sick to his stomach just watching her pace. "There's no need for this. It's not like he could have gone after Luci. He probably just hid because he knew I would be angry when I got up."

Khalid shrugged Ryou off and strode to Ember, grabbing her by one arm. Ryou seized his husband by his wrist, tugging lightly, pleading softly for him to just leave her alone. Khalid shot Ryou a dark look. "I don't see what's wrong with you people." He finally snapped. "Ember is overreacting over Atem, and Ryou, you... You're underreacting. I must have missed your nervous breakdown. Don't you realize that now Luci will be able to torture Kira any time he wants?" He was pressing at buttons, and he knew exactly how to manipulate Ryou. The boy's brown eyes widened slightly and he let go of Khalid. Khalid took a hold of Ryou's chin, and tilteed his face towards the light. "Look. I can't even see any tears. You really must not love her anymore, huh?"
"Stop it." Ryou said, softly but firmly. Khalid was completely right when he said that he had missed Ryou's nervous breakdown. Ryou swore he wouldn't start crying again. He pulled out of Khalid's grip. He wanted to go on the defensive, snap something back at Khalid, but couldn't think of what to say.
