*Luke gets up and goes to get her some ******** food. Who the ******** doesn't eat for 3 days? Jesus Christ. He muttering under his breath about it. He checks the fridge. There's no pizza. But there's sandwiches.*
If I get you some turkey sandwiches, will you eat them? *For the love of God.*

"Well, yes, but you don't have to get them for me." She stood up again.

Luana sat down so fast that she almost knocked her chair over.
"At this point I'm not picky. Yes, I'll eat them."

*Luke gets a plate of sandwiches and another bottle of apple juice. He grabs a bottle of orange juice while he's at it. He's gonna need something to put the vodka in.*
*Luke sets the sandwiches and juice down on the table. He sits down. He's still worked up about it.*
Why haven't you eaten anything in 3 days?

Luana dove into the sandwiches. Between bites she managed to answer, "I've been busy." She drank about a third of the juice in one go. "When I'm into a project I forget things like that."
She slowed down immediately after saying so, but was too hungry to stop altogether.

*Yeah, right. She wasn't being straight with him. Which was fine. Luke didn't mind that. But if you're gonna lie, come up with a better lie than that.*
*murmurs* I dunno. I forget a lot of things, but I don't forget to eat for three days.

"It's easy when you can't taste any of it anyway." She put down the sandwich she was currently working on and washed it down with more juice. "Nobody in my house can, really, which is too bad, 'cause Roger's a good cook."
She went back to eating.

*Luke studies her. He doesn't get what's going on. She comes in here and has a nervous breakdown. Then she pretends that everything's alright. All while she's sitting here lookin like an ad for death.*

Luana finished one more sandwich, then pushed the rest of her plate away. Her eyelids were heavy, but her brain was still going, and faster now that she had eaten.
"At least, I know I couldn't, and neither could they for the first day after. I haven't really surfaced in three days, so I can't speak for everyone else."

Luana leaned back in the chair and seemed to stare at something only she could see.
"Remember me tellng you about Daedalus? I came here once during the ramp construction."

Luana nodded. "I was trying to figure out what exactly when I came here."
She crossed her arms over her chest and directed her gaze downward.
"Something went wrong the day of the launch. It hit the ground nose first, and Andy was inside. I was already running, but I had to give Sam my knife to cut him out when we saw the fuel leak because as soon as I saw the blood I started getting sick. Andy was basically crushed inside. We thought we were lucky when we got him out before it blew."
She took a deep breath. The tears started welling up again. "When I saw him, I passed out. I never did handle blood well. When I came to, he was already in the ER. He lost both legs and his left arm, but his spine was so badly damaged that the doctors said even if they could save the limbs, they couldn't have helped him use them again."
The words flowed surprisingly easy for Luana. Once she had started, it would have taken too much energy to stop, it seemed.
"Roger sent me home after the first day. He said Andy would understand, and that I could see him again after he came out of surgery that night. Only, he never came out of his next surgery. That was just over three days ago."
Something inside of Luana's head clicked. The injuries had been more extensive on his left side and his back. He had been looking left and behind himself. Wasn't there an odd smoke before the explosion? What if...

Jesus... *So she hadn't eaten, slept, or bathed since three days ago when her friend (or her brother?) died in the crash.*
*God, if she was the one who -built- the ********. He didn't know what to say.* Luana, I'm.... I'm sorry.
*That was the hell of it. He was.*
