"Shika, you're going to waste them!" Chouji snatched the stick from the but the second marshmallow had already bit the dust. "I'll make them for you and you can stare at the fire all you like. Just don't do it too long or you'll hurt your eyes." Chouji finished roasting his second marshmallow, then made a s'more for Shikamaru and handed it to him. "Here."

Shikamaru frowned, noticing he had burnt his second marshmallow to a crisp. The frown faded though as he was handed a smore, and bit into it. After shallowing, he said "Sorry.... I can't stay focused when cooking them..." as he took another bite. It tasted really good.

"You space out a lot, Shikamaru. What do you think about when you go off into your own little world? Anything interesting or just nothing?" Chouji began roasting again but put two on this time so he could make Shikamarus at the same time.

"Then what would I be if I spaced off? Stupid?" Chouji smiled while he said it. "I do that all the time at school which is why I fall behind. Will you really help me with my homework to? If I fail any classes, my parents won't allow me in the kitchen anymore. That means no more free meals for you."

Shikamaru almost choked on air as Chouji suddenly swore, looking at the injured finger. "Seems that I am not the only one who spaces out..." he said with a smirk, reaching forward and taking Chouji's hand, looking at the finger. "Doesn't look like it is burnt too bad... only a bit." he said, while examineing the finger.

"I dropped the marshmallows." Chouji said as he looked at the smushed on the floor. There was a tinge of pink in his cheeks as he realized that he'd swore, and the fact that Shikamaru was holding his hand again. "Sorry."

((I, on the other hand, swear like a sailor. Kind of like Hidan. rofl Every sentacne that flows from my mouth has... colorful language. Unless I am around people who might take offense to that. Than my language stays clean.
I start swearing in japanese when I hurt myself 0_____0))
Shikamaru pulled Chouji's hand up more, getting a closer look at it. "The marshmallows don't matter. As long as your hands okay. We can always cook more marshmallows." he said, not relising Chouji was blushing slightly. He suddenly got the impulse the 'kiss Chouji's finger better'... and that is just what he did, before letting go of 'said hand. "There. All better." he said, looking up to Chouji with a slight smirk.

Choujis face was now a color there was no name for. "Sh-Shikamaru...thank-" before he could finish saying thank you, another roll of thunder sounded and he dove forward into Shikamaru. "Th-they're getting closer..."

Shikamaru managed to stay sitting up as Chouji dove into him, reassuringly patting his back lightly. "Don't worry... nothing is going to hurt you inside. Lightning can't strike someone inside a house." he said, "And if thinking logically doesn't work... keep your mind focused on happy things." he added in.

He cringed when another boom sounding. Why isn't the storm stopping? Chouji thought, then realized he had his arms wrapped around his best friend. He stayed still though, the Nara wasn't pushing him away and he thought he was rather comfortable. "Happy things?" he let his eyes fall closed for a moment as he listened to Shikamarus heart beat.

Shikamaru now had his hands on Chouji's shoulders, and said "Yup. Happy things. Whatever you can think about that makes you so happy, you forget all about it.". He remembered... the first time he went up and decided to face his fear of deer, he imagined Chouji there, cheering him on.

"Something that makes me happy, huh?" Chouji repeated, then bit his lip. "Will you hold me a little longer? It...makes me happy." he was too embarrassed to look up at Shikamarus so kept his face buried in his chest. He smells kinda good. Like the air outside.
