"ha ha ha ha ha..AHAHAHAHAA!" Naraku laughed through the castle. Miasma poured out, replacing any air nearby.Black acid swept across the floor. "Naraku! How did you survive?!" Inuyasha shouted in anger. There was only laughter as a reply. The miasma was growing even larger now! Inuyasha took off his robe of the fire rat, and gave it took Kagome. "Stay behind this. It's not the greatest protection but it'll stop you from dying."

"But Inuyasha, what about you? The robe of the fire rat is like your armor. You need it more than I do!" Kagome said worridely.

"I'll be alright. It's you I'm worried about." Inuyasha realized what he said, and turned around to hide his red face. "Just, stay alive okay?!?" He stuttered as he tried to get his face to go back to normal colour.

Kagome stared at him lovingly and then looked at Naraku worridely. "Be careful Inuyasha! I'll be right here if you need me, okay?" Kagome said to him.

"Yeah." He replied. The miasma wouldn't stop coming, but Inuyasha wasn't affected by it much. The light that had been drawing him in had dissapeared. "Wait, what's that?" Inuyasha saw a shadow run through the darness. He ran into the miasma after it, disapearing from sight into the shadows.

He followed the shadow throught the thick miasma. "Hey! Wait! Stop!" he yelled after the shadow. It was too small to be Naraku. He kept running, but then tripped over something. "Huh? What's this?" He asked himself, lifting up a small object.

Kagome grew worried and started walking towards the miasma, but then stopped in her tracks, becuase she knew if she went into the miasma, then she would probably die. "Inuyasha...." She whispered to herself.

The shadow had reached a dead-end, and panicked. "You're trapped! Show yourself!" He shouted at it. It slowly walked into the light. A little child stood frightened as it saw Inuyasha approuch. "P-please don't hurt me." She cries, covering up her head in fear."What? Oh! Uh...sorry, I won't hurt you." He walked closer to the little girl. "You've gotta get out of here. Here, come with me." The girl hopped onto his back and they went back out to the group together.

Kagome looked up and saw Inuyasha coming back with something on his back. She wiped the tears from her eyes and walked slowly over to him, so that she could see what was on his back. "Inuyasha?" Kagome said sadly.

Inuyasha noticed Kagome was crying. He took the kid off of his back and looked over at Kagome. "Kagome, what's wrong?" The little girl pulled on his pant leg to get his attention. "You're bleeding mister." She told Inuyasha in a small voice. "What?" Inuyasha turned around and saw his back has blood down it. He probably didn't notice it when he was walking in the miasma after the girl.
