"What?!" Nina exclaimed, feeling her heart sink into her stomach. "Th-that's not fair! I was only supposed--" Ricki laughed. "I don't care what you were supposed to do! This is our bridge, and what we say, goes! This is a double battle-- two Pokemon and only two Pokemon!" With a dark grin, Ricki and Bobby flung out one Pokeball each-- a Gengar and a Ninetales popped onto the field. They both looked extremely powerful.
"Guh-- what?!" the girl almost felt her jaw hit the ground. Krystal might be able to take the Ninetales out... but what about Anna? She wouldn't last a second against the Gengar.. and they're the strongest Pokemon I've got!
Nina snatched up Krystal's Ultra ball from her belt, and released the majestic dragon from her confines. Letting out a sigh, she turned her head to look at her Ghost. "Anna," she started, "I want you to go--"
Before she finished her sentence, though, another Pokeball exploded onto the arena. An Ursaring appeared, and Whitney stepped forward.
"Like, I don't care if this is your bridge or your city or your region, or like, whatever. You do not mess with my sister while I'm around."

Mike grinned at the mild applause, winning felt real good sometimes. "Well, I'm interested because I saw one of the cutest Pokemon I ever saw in the Safari Zone display." He remembered Dr. Mitchell and his mention of a Mr. Ranmo. "It was an Omanyte, and his owner mentioned a man by the name of Ranmo." He followed closely behind Kilik, the Gym's invisible walls still making him feel a little stupid for running right into them.
Upon hearing the mention of the shellfish, Portabello snorted, rubbing his eye inadvertently, still swearing there was some ink left in it.

Keegan's hard look softened, and he sighed, scratching the back of his head. "Not once did I say I was all right with this, because I'm not. I just know that there's nothing I can do. Don't cry," he added, reaching out and wiping away her tears. "And I'm not the type to cry, otherwise I'm sure I would," he added. "I have my own way of dealing with these sort of situations, and deep down, I guess I knew it was coming." It was true; he had expected this day to come at one point. Truthfully, though, he'd expected it a lot sooner.

Kilik's fingers moved along the glass walls and he hummed lightly to himself as Mike spoke. "Well, I'm sure my dad could help you find one," he explained. Giving a quick look over his shoulder to see Mike, Kilik pressed on through the maze without another sound. He walked through the door of the Gym and stepped outside, taking a deep breath and letting out a massive yawn. "Here Mike! Catch!" the boy tossed his PokeNav towards Mike.
"Call him up if you'd like. His number's on there somewhere," he waved his hand casually, looking around and slipping his hands into his pockets. He wondered a bit where Rena had run off to in the Safari's exhibits.

Kasiya nodded meekly, her shoulders trembling slightly. "I'm sorry, I'm overreacting again, aren't I?" she asked, her gaze downcast. She'd liked Helios a lot; the Vulpix was both adorable and sweet. She heaved a heavy sigh, feeling another wave of sadness overcome her. Sobbing, she flung her arms around Keegan's neck, holding on to him tightly. "Even though it's not in your nature," she managed to whimper through muffled sobs, "you can always cry on my shoulder if you want to."

After a momentary fumble, Mike secured the Nav, copying Kilik's father's number down and tossing it back. "Thanks!" He said, skipping past the boy to the Pokemon Center. "See you later!" He cooed, disappearing into the sliding doors of the hospital.
Portabello chased after his Master, bowing quickly to the boy as he raced past him, running into the Center himself. Till we meet again Sir Kilik!
"I win!" Mike said playfully, already handing the three fainted Pokemon's devices to Nurse Joy.
Yes Master. The Grass Pokemon said mockingly sticking out his tongue at Mike.

Kilik nabbed the Nav and stuffed it into his jacket pocket again. When Rena was nowhere to be found, and Mike had disappeared, he suddenly felt very lonely. "Where'd everyone go?" he whispered, looking around the town. Part of him wished that he hadn't yelled at Mazarin; there was no real need to raise his voice, was there? Spinning on spot, Kilik decided to head south towards the beach. It was a nice day, and there were bound to be people there.
However, when he reached the sands, there was no one. It seemed so quiet, so empty. A light breeze brushed against him, spraying his face with sea spray and the scent of salt. The ends of his jacket whipped a bit, and his hair blew in the breeze. "Man..it's too quiet." He unclipped Ludicolo's ball from his belt and gave a flick of the wrist. "It's always worth a shot for training, I guess."

((OMG Mag I'm so sorry. T__T Worst gym leader ever. T__T ))
Starmie's momentum carried it away from Sunfire's assault, but not enough to stop the last dark orb shot out by the Flareon. It struck the aquatic Pokemon dead-center, sending it spiraling down towards the bottom of the pool.
"Oh no, Starme! Are you okay?" Misty cried, trying to locate her Pokemon. A moment later, she saw it moving, but knew it didn't have much left in it. "Try a Water Gun!" she called almost desparately, gritting her teeth in frustration.
The purple star shot out of the water like a rocket, firing a spray of water. The pain and disorientation it felt from Sunfire's last attack caused it to miss horribly though, the water splashing harmlessly into the pool.

Keegan let out a startled gasp as Kasiya threw her arms around him, sobbing. After a moment, he sighed and smiled, wrapping his arms around her and holding her. "You know, I would have thought you'd be comforting me, not vice versa," he joked, closing his eyes. It was rather nice to hold her in his arms again, although he silently wished it had been under better circumstances.
As she sobbed against him, he felt something inside him let go. It was as though a dam, writhe with cracks suddenly gave way, and a strangled sob escaped his throat. Very soon tears of his own were streaming down his cheeks, and a feeling of weakness overcame him, causing him to sink to his knees in despair.

((Tis okay Aire.))
Not expecting the sudden burst Mag was a bit stunned by the shooting star. So was Sunfire but luckily for them the attack missed its mark by quite a large margin. The pokemon let out a quick sigh of relief and then hasitly powered up another Shadow Ball to launch at the now retreating enemy. That Starmie looks really tired. Misty seems really worked up over it too. I wonder if her Starmie knows recover too... Uh, let's hope not. Mag thought to himself. "That's the way Sunfire! Finish it off!"

"Starmie! Recover!" Misty yelled, hoping she'd get the command in quick enough. The Mysterious Pokemon fell back down into the water, followed by Sunfire's Shadow Ball. The combined forces made for an amazing splash, soaking half of the gym in the process. When the chaos cleared, Starmie floated to the top of the pool, it's center core blinking rapidly before going out.
"How about that," Misty chuckled, holding up her Pokeball and calling back her Starmie. "Even at the disadvantage, you won. That takes something." She walked towards the back of the gym, placing Staryu, Goldeen, and Starmie's Pokeballs into the healing machine. She waved at Mag, calling him over, where she offered to heal his Pokemon for him as well. "Save you a trip to the Pokemon Center," the friendly gym leader nodded, going over to a locked cupboard. She took a key from her pocket, and opened it, taking out an elongated, cerulean blue box and opening it. Bundled together was prize money, as well as the TM for Water Pulse. "Use it wisely," she told him. "As you saw earlier, it can confuse the foe, although it's not 100% accurate." A broad smile crept onto her face as she held out her other hand, unfurling it slowly. In her palm sat a blue badge, shaped like a teardrop. "You've definitely earned this. Congratulations, the Cascade Badge is yours!"

Ludicolo danced onto the scene, rocking back and forth to a rhythm in his mind. The waves also helped with his sway, moving in motion with the ocean. He looked over at Kilik and smiled, his duck bill wide. "Ludi! Colo!" he laughed. The boy nodded, patting his Pokemon on the shoulder. "Listen, Ludi. You like dancing, right?" he asked. He recieved a nod, "And when you were a Lombre, battling interested you..." he paused, "Somewhat." Again, another nod from Ludicolo.
"How about I train you a bit? Get you into many different styles of dance for battle?" Ludicolo seriously pondered this offer many times in his head, bobbing up and down and humming as he thought. When he came to his conclusion, he snapped his 'fingers' as best he could with a hearty nod. "Great!" Kilik smiled, unleashing Flareon from his Pokeball. The fox looked around for a moment, then smiled up at Kilik with a pleasant bark. "You're gonna help me train Ludicolo, okay?" he looked at the pineapple shaped Pokemon then at Flareon, "Got it?"

Keegan's sudden outburst threw her for a loop - Kasiya immediately ceased her own crying, sinking to the ground along with her friend as he cried on her shoulder. "Things will only get better," she told him softly, running the fingers of one hand through his red hair, the other rubbing his back. "The time Helios was with you, he received the best care any Vulpix could ask for, and you'll always know that he's the good Pokemon he's become because of you and all you've done for him." She pulled off her bandanna, and wiped his cheeks free of tears. "I'm sure you feel a little better now, right?"

Nurse Joy returned with Mike's Pokemon, the trademark smile on her face. "Here you go hon, they're all better." The boy happily accepted his Pokemon, bowing accidentally to the woman. "Eheh, sorry." He mumbled, a blush creeping up on him. "Force of habit." Mike pointed to his Breloom, who was proving his point, bowing to the pink haired nurse.
Civility is always important my Master. He said with a smile.
"Yeah yeah, let's get a move on." Mike grabbed Portabello by the tail, dragging him towards the door. As he exited the Pokemon Center, the boy noticed in the immediate distance two familiar people: Kasiya and Keegan. They were...crying. "Agh!" He yelped, dashing over to them both. "What happened?" He asked no one in particular.
Portabello closed his eyes, searching for the answer wordlessly. He read the two kid's minds like an open book, learning about Helios and the girl named Sheena. Master. He looked into Mike's eyes, sending Keegan's story of anguish to the boy.
Mike stood there silent, the thought of losing Nitro almost brought him to tears.

Nina looked at her sister with a rather surprised expression. "Whitney, I--" The pink-haired girl shook her head. "You don't need to like, say anything, Nina. You can thank me later on, mmkay?" The girl smiled a little. "All right. Sounds like a plan!"
Not about to spend any time on petty chitchat, Gengar rushed forward toward Krystal, with his arm pulled back, ready to strike the dragon. His plan was foiled, however, when Ringu, Whitney's Ursaring, dashed over in front of the dragon to protect her. Naturally, Normal-type Pokemon aren't affected by Ghost moves, and Ringu simply laughed the attack off as he was struck. "D'ah-ha, that tickles!" he giggled, smirking at the mischievious ghost, who looked a bit surprised; before he could escape, Ringue lunged forward and slammed him square in the jaw with a Faint Attack, knocking him backwards. Strong Pokemon or not, the ghost felt the supereffective damage that was induced.
Krystal grinned widely, looking over to Gengar, who was scrambling to his feet. "Oh, no no!" she said teasingly, "You're not going anywhere!" The dragon shot forward, building up a small amount of electricity in her body; a few feet away from the ghost, she unleashed a small Thunder Wave upon it, inflicting a paralysis condition. "H-hey! What?! That's not f--" The Gengar's joints locked together for a moment as he got to his feet, causing him to tip over again. "Ninetales, you wanna do somethin' here?!"
The Ninetales sat quietly, each of her tails moving individually. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't speak to me in such a manner, Gengar." Her voice was cool, calm, and collected, as if the exchange of attacks hadn't even taken place. She fixed her gaze on her partner for a moment before turning it to the bear and dragon that had rendered him debilitated. "I don't appreciate the both of you attacking him. Now, I won't hear the end of it for a week... He believes that he is of a higher, more elite class of Pokemon than all others, and dislikes it immensely when he is reduced to looking like a fool."
