Ruby St.Claire Scarlett Feyer Ruby St.Claire Scarlett Feyer Whisper stopped, she could hear crying. Looking around, she saw a girl standing by the elevators sobbing, running over to her she smiled, 'Are you ok?' she said in her musical voice. Ruby glanced up and looked at Whisper with tear-stained eyes. "Nooooooooooo. I'm not." Whisper smiled in sympathy, 'What's wrong?' She said softly. "I can't get to my son because the null field in the elevator will kill me." Ruby wiped at her eyes, the tears coming to a slow trickle. "An' Arch's not here to get him for me." Ruby squinted to get a good look at Whisper, past the tears. "Who're you?" 'I'm Whisper Namonaki, why will the null field kill you, sorry I'm new here.' Whisper handed the girl a tissue.

Ruby took the tissue without hesitation. "Because to keep my blood pumpin' an me alive, I need to have my powers. The null field kills me pretty much instantly."

'Ah, I suppose that would be a problem then,' Whisper thought for a moment, 'If you instructed me I'm sure I could get to your son?'

Ruby shook her head, "takes a retinal scan, hand scan, an' a card to get the elevator workin'. I could give you the card easy enough, but the scan an' stuff wouldn't work...I don't think." She patted the ground next to her. "But if you want to help you can sit down an' talk to me for a while. I'm sure one of the head folks'll be around in a while to go get Aaron for me."

Whisper smiled and sat down beside the woman. 'Have you been here long?' she asked, 'I've only just joined and you're really the first person I've met.'

Ruby smiled, "thought you were prob'ly pretty new, if I hadn't met you an' all. Yeah, I've been here long, real real long. If everyone was granted numbers coincidin' from when they joined the AA, I would be number two, the first one bein' the angel of course."

"Well far as I know, the plan was to just take down Phoenix, an' that went rather swimmin'ly, 'cept for me dyin', but as you can see that ain't a problem anymore either." She gave a small smile. "As for why it's so quiet 'round the base right now is cause most of the troops are on their way home, or are fightin' the new battle, the battle for krovh...which is kinda on home turf. Right now, I s'pose are aim is solely stayin' alive."

Ruby let out a little sigh, and stood up, moving around. She gave an apologetic smile to whisper. "I'm gonna be headin' out, sug, sorry for leavin' you like this, but I can't handle waitin' for those folks to get here any more. I'm likely to walk into the elevator an' go down myself, kill me or not, simply to get somethin' to happen." She cursed under her breath, knowing she didn't want to leave Aaron, but she had no way to get to him, and by all considerations he was probably safer without her and at the base.
Ruby turned down the hall, she paused for a moment, thinking about bringing some stuff with her, but then she remembered all her things were inaccessible. There were no available options other than to leave on her own, with nothing at hand, so that is what she did.

Whisper watched Ruby leve and sighed. She had no idea what she was meant to be doing, she wished she could talk to one of the main people but the problem was she didn't know where they were! Shaking her head in frustration she ran down other hallway.

One of the guards spotted Whisper and raised an eyebrow. "Where you headed in such a hurry, kid?" He asked with a small friendly grin. "If you're looking for the war, it's outside, but if you're bored and need someone to talk too." He gave a slight shrug. "I'm stuck on guard duty, on one of the most exciting battles in the war, typical, no?"

Whisper stopped and smiled ruefully, 'Heh, well I'm not entirely certain, where I'm supposed to be...' She said, embarrassed. 'I haven't been able to get anyone to tell me what to do...'

'I haven't been able to get anyone to tell me what to do...' The guard smiled, "lucky again....I get told to do all the time. But really, why do you feel the need to be directed? The AA, last time I checked, has always been rather free with their supers. The boss isn't much for orders, the military side, with Minerva and Jehric and the rest they'll order you till you drop. But the supers' boss, the angel, doesn't usually keep track of the troops, or care what they're doing, as long as they're doin' whatever they're doing, for his side." He gave a slight shrug. "If you want I can grab an order from Lt. Cross, she's always willing to hand something out."
