This brought Marcus back to the realities of the situation. "Right." He gestured to the shift and gown lying on the bed. "Get dressed. I'll take you to a physician when you're ready."

"In a moment." Terryn shut her eyes tightly, pressing hard against her side until the pain subsided. "I am not going to die from this am I?" It was supposed to come out as a half joke, but underneath it was obvious that she was serious about her concern.

"Dear God, I hope not," answered Marcus. He failed to see the joke in this, and he slid out of the bed with a small sigh. "I am so very sorry for this."

Terryn shook her head as she finally felt the pain leave her for the time being. "I already told you, take no blame in this." She pushed herself shakily out of bed, stumbling a bit and gripping onto Marcus to keep her balance.

"But it was my fault," argued Marcus, holding up Terryn carefully. "There's the short and long of it, no matter if you try to prove otherwise."

"Then feel guilty if you will..." Terryn forced herself to stand steadily and let go of Marcus. "But it will not make me better. A physician can." She threw on her clothing as quickly as she could, which wasn't too quickly, and leaned against him again as she tried to walk out to the carriage.

Marcus stopped Terryn and took her up in his arms like he would a child. "We'll never make it out of here at your rate," he joked, striding out to the carriage. The coachman raised his eyebrows, but opened the door, and Marcus set her down. "To Master Doctor Drabinsky," he told his coachman, before entering the coach and shutting the door.

Terryn pouted, not liking to be so handicapped. She slid into her seat, feeling a residual ache in her side. She rested against Marcus the whole way, taking deep, cleansing breaths to help ease her tension.

Marcus carried her out of the coach and through the gate, setting her down tentatively only once they reached the door. Marcus only knocked once when the door swung open, and they were looking into the stern, unfeeling face of Master Doctor Drabinsky. He was a dry, unfeeling bachelor, who found absolutely nothing interesting in the female anatomy. In fact, there was very little that struck him as interesting at all.

Terryn blinked, looking up at him and not sure what to say. She didn't speak any Russian, and was unsure as to the good doctor knew any English.

It just so happened that the doctor prided himself on what he felt was impeccable English. He noticed Terryn clutching her side, and ushered the two of them in. "Vot is happened?" he asked Terryn, ignoring Marcus completely.

Terryn looked at him, relieved that he had some comprehension of her language. "I was attacked. Hit in the back of the head and violated. I think I was given some sort of poison to keep me asleep." She said all of this slowly, hoping she didn't sound like she was insulting his intelligence.

Dr. Drabinsky threw a sharp look at Marcus, as though he suspected him of hurting Terryn. Or at least letting it happen. "It hurted going down?" He suspected Terryn (since she spoke slowly) of being a foreigner, and he gestured swallowing. "Down your throat? Neck?" he asked, tapping his Adam's apple.

Terryn shook her head. "I do not remember. My throat felt a little burning when I woke up, though." She rubbed at her throat, swallowing hard. "Is that bad?"

"Poison bad," answered Dr. Drabinsky. Marcus, who had taken a seat, had to admit: the man's logic was quite unparallelled. "Means it will be hurting coming up, if I induce the vomit to come."
