4.Eric Dickerson-RB-Los Angeles Rams-1983  He didn't look fast, but if there was a hole, Dickerson would get through it. Dickerson was an immediate smash, settin' rookie records for most rushin' attempts (390), most rushin' yards gained (1,80 cool n' most rushin' TDs {18}.

3.Randy Moss-WR-Minnesota Vikings-1998  Teams passed on Moss in draft because of his off-field problems, n' talented wide receiver made them pay by lightin' up NFL his rookie season. Moss caught 69 passes for 1,313 yards n' 17 touchdowns to help Vikings go 15-1.

2.Earl Campbell-RB-Houston Oilers-1978  Campbell ran for 1,450 yards in 1978 n' won Rookie of Year n' MVP honors. He helped Oilers make a run to AFC Championship Game, where they fell to eventual Super Bowl champion Steelers. Campbell also helped Houston beat Miami 35-30 in what many consider the most excitin' Monday Night Football game of all time.

1.Lawrence Taylor-LB-New York Giants-1981  No 1 had ever seen a linebacker with speed n' athleticism of Taylor, who was dubbed "Superman" by his teammates. Taylor, who had 133 tackles n' 91/2 sacks, transformed Giants' defense into 1 of most feared units in NFL. Here's some people who were actually drafted by the NFL Pat Riley  Riley excelled in football n' basketball in Kentucky n' was picked as a receiver by Cowboys in 11th round of 1967 draft. He was also selected by San Diego Rockets of NBA, going on, of course, to play in league for nearly a decade n' coachin' Lakers n' Heat to NBA championships.

Carl Lewis  Cowboys are known as draft pioneers n' had success with track stars like receiver Bob Hayes. Dallas drafted Olympic superstar with 334th of 336 picks in 1984 draft. Lewis never tried out for team.

Kirk Gibson  Gibson was an All-America receiver at Michigan State n' was drafted by both Detroit Tigers n' St. Louis Cardinals football team. Despite an injury-plagued career, he hit 1 of most famous home runs in history while with Dodgers in Game 1 of 1988 World Series against A's.

Bill Goldberg  Goldberg was taken by Rams in 11th round of 1990 draft n' played for a short time as a defensive tackle for Falcons. He then went on to be 1 of world's most famous pro wrestlers.

Quinn Buckner  Buckner was a key player on Indiana's 32-0 basketball team in 1976 n' he played safety for football team. Redskins drafted him in 9th round of 1976 draft, but he went on to NBA as a player n' coach, and has had a successful career as an announcer.

Gene Keady  Keady's college success was in football at Kansas State n' he was 19th round pick of Steelers in 1958. A knee injury cut his pro career short n' he went on to a prolific career as a college basketball coach at Purdue.

David Winfield  Winfield was a basketball n' baseball star at University of Minnesota n' didn't play football, but Vikings still took a 17th-round flyer on him. Winfield was also selected by Atlanta Hawks n' San Diego Padres n' went on to have a Hall of Fame baseball career.

Paul Orndorff  Orndorff had a successful college career as a runnin' back at University of Tampa n' was taken by Saints in 12th round of 1973 draft. He didn't make it in NFL n' then became a professional wrestler. Known as "Mr. Wonderful," Orndorff was a big star in 1980s.

Terry Crews  Crews was a star defensive end at Western Michigan n' was picked by Rams in 11th round of 1991 draft. He had a short career in NFL n' then went on to have a productive career as an actor. He currently plays father in "Everybody Hates Chris."

Rick Telander  Chiefs selected Northwestern defensive back in 8th round of 1971 draft. He never made it in NFL, but went on to become an award-winnin' sportswriter for Sports Illustrated n' several other publications. He wrote acclaimed book "Heaven is a Playground."

Here's a list of Top 20 Draft Classes Since NFL-AFL Merger (1970) 20. 1998 Vikings  Everyone knew Randy Moss was an incredible athlete, but Vikings were 1st team that had guts to take him despite his character issues. Moss instantly turned Vikings into most potent offensive team in NFL n' helped them go 15-1 in '98. They also landed perennial Pro Bowl center Matt Birk in 6th round.
