Sophie had barely taken a few steps onto the ice when she heard what she thought was the sound of laughter. She spun around, feet slipping on the ice; arms flailing as she tried to regain her balance. A flash of colour and something shot past her leg, causing her to jump and slip over, landing on her butt with a loud thud.
