That's something I never really liked about DoW's storyline. The Ork/Chaos relationship.
Even more so in Winter Assault, where the Khornate Marines used...diplomacy. confused
The only sides I can see working together, ever, are those that are of the same race, or to beat a greater evil for a greater good. I can see Tau and Humans working together to whoop a Daemon Prince, that's fine. I can see Eldar and Humans stopping something about the Warp/Webway/some other fluff. Because although Marines are awfully Xenophiobic, it makes sense that they'd not want to lose because they were fighting on 2 friends. The enemy of your enemy is your ally.

Lt. Brookman - why the heck would Orks want to ally with those that they see as weaker opponents. Free bootaz?

They can realise there's a mutual advantage in alliances.
Their reasoning is they stomp whoever's left at the end anyway, so they still get a good fight.

-Mykal yeah, thats how it works, its not based on personality of a race, its more based on survival. You know that once you get out of the tight spot then you can kick other peoples a** as welll as your former allies. Like I said, and so did the last person, its a mutual relationship, both sides are gaining something from the other. Its not like its permanent or they are solid friends now but thats how it goes.

The chances of Space Marines allying with Tau are about the same as a snowmans chances in hell. Theyre too damn xenophobic and they deem the greater good as blasphemy and heresy, Eldar maybe but with Grey Knights around...
Chaos and Orks is possible, the new chaos commander appears to be purely khorne. If they where collecting sacrifices its win win, they get blood for the blood god and the orks get to frag stuff.
Imperial Guard with Chaos, Tau, Space Marines and maaaybe Eldar is possible. Tau would ally with Imperial Guard but it woudnt make any sense with much else, Eldar are too stubborn and you know about the others..
Necrons on the other hand....that wouldnt make any sense at all confused ...
Maybe some races will be handled differently like a part in the story where you have to choose between two objectives and it would affect the story like in WA where you choose either Eldar or Imperial Guard. Maybe at one point of the story the Imperial Guard question whether they should join up with the greater good and all that crap..

I hate those alliances, most make no sense whatsoever. The only sharing that can be done is in pain and we serve them with bucketloads. The campaign will be one where you fight ALL other factions and have none of those stupid alliances. You are there to kill, not to make friends, not even for a short term of time.

nah, it adds a different aspect to the campaign. I think eldar would ally with anyone besides chaos, Tau with anyone, probably besides chaos, and maybe ork. blah...

You CANNOT ally with the ******** necrons, you cannot. Read the Necron fluff, Eldar are the prime enemies of the Necrons and Necrons fight all for their souls, they do not ally themselves with anyone or anything.
