Earendil laughed. "I was just teasing, sweetheart," he grinned, patting Miyuki on the head.

Leilani came back out of the tent with Remiel toddling out behind her, smiling happily now that the scare was over. Still, a baby's cry filled the air, and she tilted her head slightly. "I thought Shiloh stayed asleep," she mused.

Aric turned to her, then looked towards Elros and Alene's tent. "The crying's not coming from there," he said cautiously. He looked around again, listening carefully. "I think ... it's coming from ..."

He blinked, then pointed to Lin and Earendil's tent.

Earendil was equally confused, and he followed after Lin immediately.

Inside the tent, all seemed as it should be ... except that his bag was wiggling, and that the crying sound seemed to be coming from it ...

Earendil stayed back, giving Lin space to find out what was going on. He hadn't a clue -- if anything, he was more confused than she was.

Inside the bag, the wailing grew louder even as Lin's two hands found their way around it. A very soft and warm 'it', being a very little and very naked little blond elven boy.

Earendil's eyes goggled as Lin pulled the baby out of the bag. He kept wailing and waving his arms about angrily, his cries now louder than ever.

Earendil tried not to listen too closely and reached into the bag to pull out the music box. If that was where the baby had come from, perhaps it would have some clue as to what was going on.

But when he pulled out the musical egg, it looked unchanged from what it had been before. Still, he turned the key on the back, and the music began to play.

At the sound, the infant stopped flailing about and his cries slowly quieted down until he finally just snuggled into Lin's chest and started sucking on the thing nearest his mouth - her promise necklace.

Earendil bit his lip thoughtfully. He wasn't at all ready for this, he had no idea what was going on ...

He passed her a blanket. "He's ... ours, then?" he asked, not quite understanding. His mind was still catching up. The only thing his mind was comprehending at the moment was that the child - infant - seemed to be calmed by the music.

"What about ... Andarien?" he suggested, purely out of reflex. It was a name he had once wished he'd had (when he was young, he had long since grown to appreciate his own name).

"Normal," Earendil repeated, still a bit dazed. He held up the blanket and wrapped it around the small boy. "Right."

Then he carefully took the baby from Lin and looked down into his blue-violet eyes. "Andarien," he murmured. "Our son."

A slow smile spread across his face and, holding Andarien in one hand, he reached for Lin with his other and pulled her close for a group hug.

"We should show him to Miyuki," he chuckled softly, his senses returning to him. "She'll be thrilled ... let's just hope River doesn't damage his hearing."

Earendil laughed at that. "Well, I'll let you explain that part to everyone," he chuckled. "I think Aric and Leilani will find it the strangest, did you see the look on Aric's face when he saw that Miyuki had grown?"

He sat back and held the tent flap open for Lin to crawl out first.

Miyuki wasn't the only curious one - almost everyone else had gathered around to see what was going on.

Earendil crawled out of the tent behind Lin, Andarien cradled in one arm. The infant was looking around at everyone with wide eyes, and his lip started to quiver. So many people!

All around them, eyes grew wide with surprise.
