Ashriel sighed as the class ended, going to the restroom instead of the cafeteria. So she forgot her lunch. So what. She could go without just fine.

Jennalin's eyebrows rose for seemingly no reason as she heard Raevyn. She hadn't seen either of them - she hadn't known they were at school today. Was Ash really that mad at Lix? It was possible. Carefully, she stood up, looking at Lixini to excuse herself as she walked to the bathroom, Ash's usual hideout when she forgot lunch. "Ash..." She called quietly as she stepped in, looking for Ashriel.

"What?" Ashriel questioned, leaning against the wall of the bathroom, sketching quietly. Her eyes looked at Jennalin, and then they directed straight back down at her paper. "I thought you hadn't seen me." After all, she'd thought that she'd succeeded in avoiding her friend.

"I hadn't. There is a ratting cat somewhere around here." Jennalin said simply, looking at her friend. "Let me get you-"

"No. Don't get me anything. I don't want to eat." Ash said bitterly. Part of this was her anger at Lixini, and the other part was just shear refusal to take Jennalin's money. She walked out of the bathroom, and she then proceeded out of the school, past the field. Her destination? Home. She would eat, and then maybe come back.

Ashriel bit her lip, continuing to walk towards her apartment. She only lived about two blocks away, anyway. "Home. I'm getting myself a lunch."

At the mention of him buying the lunch, Ashriel's steps sped up. "To answer your first question, you already paid for all that food at home." She didn't look back at him as she spoke flatly. "As for your second question, tell me what your answer would be." By now, she was already off the school campus.

Ashriel tripped into the street as he hit her shoe, just barely. "Ouch!" She squealed, starting to stand up. "That is no different from me, sorry."

"You are not a freak of nature. And you should not die." Ash had stopped abruptly in the middle of the road, and she showed no intentions of moving. "I never know when one of them is going to leave me. I can't depend on them. I depended on my parents, and look where that got me." Definitely not moving.

Ashriel nodded for a moment, moving on across the road quietly. Once she was on the other side, she stopped yet again. "Fine. But there is still one problem with your answer, even if you claim that." Ash was being stubborn about this, extremely so. If she took much longer, she wouldn't have time for lunch, period, and she knew it. Perhaps that was why she decided to stop. "Would you accept a favor from me?" If he said yes, she might consider accepting next time. If he denied for any reason, the outcome would be like today.
