Hm... you seem to like to use pre existing characters, or else ones with names stolen, obviously to make refrences to something or another, or because you're as horrible at coming up with names as I am, but I'll need to find more time later. I started reading one, and sort of skimmed over the last half of it. Next time, the next one.

Well, that's what a fanfiction is. I just use the characters because I like to, but I disclaim them for the entire story in the beginning. I write mostly AU's, though, so that means I have to find my own plot lines. So they aren't entirely based off of the anime/book.
Which one did you read? I'm just curious...the ever present, cursed curiousity that never leaves me alone!

Really? I've never read fanfiction before, I would have personally taken a world I liked, and set it far before or after the current characters so as not to insult them by altering their selves, and this time change would also of ended current plotlines, so then I don't have to struggle with history, background, and cultures like I often do, and could simply make my own characters and plots.

Some people do do that, but I like the challenge of trying to get the characters actually IN character. It's a lot harder than it seems. For me, I like to be able to describe the scenery, so I stick them into different places that I get to choose. Like in The Truth of Beauty, I didn't use any previous ideas. It was completely made up from the top of my head!
I actually have only been on fanfiction since March-ish, and have been reading them for just over a year. I really like to see what people come up with, and I've read many good ones. Of course, most of the Naruto ones I like are s-ai....

First of all, i would like to say sorry, for not have been here for a littel while.. I got stranded at one of my freinds to a total of 3 days now.. Just got home a few hours ago, but ill do my best to catch up..
