Cassidy Smith

Cass squeezed tightly, what faint smile she could manage lingering on her face.

"You are an incredibly reassuring person to talk to," she said. "Good luck with your wild life; I will come back and find you when I have things for you."

She let go and backed up, her arms still out for balance as she performed this slightly difficult maneouvre. "And I can't find anything, I'll probably come back anyway."

Her heart was going in great leaps and bounds from happiness. It was really more the people that made it all worth it, not any vague hope of flight. Cassidy waved and started off for the village.

"You take care of yourself!"

"You, too!" Emelyn called after the slithering form. "...You too." and softer, to herself.

She scooted her shoulder against the tree, and tipped her head over to rest on the bark, watching Cassidy disappear into the jungle foliage through a skewed perspective... wings... bikinis... and hugs flying through her mind.

Zachary Bloodstone
Zach continued to hold out his one hand while he studied the goat legs the man had. There was little he could say to express how disturbing it looked in a sympathetic way. "... I'm so sorry."

He hadn't been to the island long, it was probably assured that this man had seen far worse sights here than Zach would ever witness. What good were his few words against such a cursed life? He helped the man to his feet somewhat, his tail once more slowing down as it mirrored the depressing feelings that choked Zach mentally. He gave the priest a bitter smile. He'd already been told 'dragon', there really wasn't much that Sabin could have added to that statement to make it any more unbelievable. Not that humans turning into animals was believable itself, unless one was experiencing it firsthand. "I suppose I will... Oh, I'm Zachary. Nice to meet you, ah, Father."

Meeting a holy man in such an unlikely place felt strange to Zach. Even if the man didn't have goat's feet or ears or the twisting horns, he'd still feel a bit overwhelmed. He looked away, almost submissively. Priests reminded him of confession, and confession reminded him of the conversation he'd had the other day. It still had him in a bad place. He did feel guilty, just not guilty enough to go out of his way to find Rex again. That would be too much.

"So, you're a priest?" he asked rhetorically, a sense of urgency worming into his words. The priest didn't look extremely bothered by his extensive changes, so perhaps he hadn't yet forsaken his faith. "How do you... deal with the changes? Um, spiritually?"

Mentally, he slapped himself. He hadn't realized how desperate he was that he would try to seek solace from a man of god.

Stewart noticed how Zach wasn't too sure what to say about his very goaty looks. Really what could be said? As he reached up to scratch a now furry ear he said "It's pretty ironic isn't it? A priest turning into a goat...The lab techs sure do have a twisted sense of humor." How did he deal with changes? He would of loved to said that he had managed to keep his faith through all that had happened....But after the first change he had figured that god had cast him away for all that he had done in the past. After the pause to collect his thoughts he said "It was hard after the first change. I will admit I almost lost my faith, but then I was walking along the beach and I found this bible washed up on shore. As cheesy as it sounds I swear it was opened up the the Book of Job, then I relised that the lozd was not ignoring me. But that he was testing me just like he had tested Job. See I've decided that the devil has taken the form of the Doctor, and he is doing everything to make us join his side!" Stewart seemed to be filled with a new enthusiasm, even though his theory was pure crap. But it made sense to him and that's all that he really cared about.

New RP

Emerwyn woke up early that morning. Ian didn't. So, carefully, gently, she slipped out of bed without waking him.
She reached for her long cloak, and donned it, then leaned forward, and softly kissed him on the forehead.

Emerwyn strolled in the jungle all morning. Her spirits were higher than ever, and for once, she didn't question the matter. She was happy, and she knew that this was the way it was supposed to be.

Breathing in deeply, she began to sing:

I once believed there was a place
Beyond my farthest reach
Far past the sea
Far past my dreams
I could not see

And for a time my only care
Was just to find that place
Then I would feel
True happiness
If only I believed...

Somehow, the voice wasn't completely familiar to Emelyn. Perhaps it was the fact that her ears still held a few droplets of water in them from her earlier 'lake bath'- or it could have even been that the sound of Emer's voice in song was so alien to her. But either way, as the hedgehog-girl made her way through the thick jungle underbrush, bashing her palm against an ear with her head tipped- as if to spill the water out the other side- she didn't feel threatened. After all- who sang so joyously when they were dangerous?

She was surprised, though, when she pushed through the leafy overhangs of a tree to spy... Emerwyn. The last person she might have thought to sing so cheerily.

"Emer?"

Emerwyn stopped moving, and her body froze up. Her ears twitched; otherwise, not a muscle moved.
It was odd; she'd never felt a sensation like that before. She knew Em's voice, but being caught off-guard like that set her off.

Then, she saw Emelyn, and her body relaxed.
"Oh, Emelyn. You startled me." She laughed, her laughter light and soft. "How have you been faring?"

"Really well," Emelyn said- the tone in her voice an amalgam of honesty and surprise. "You seem... really well yourself. How are you?" She had never seen the girl so airy, so... unhindered by the fogs of circumstance and emotion that seemed to make her such constant company. To see her like this was new- exciting... and a little puzzling.

Emerwyn nodded. "I've learned that the truth is a far less frightening thing when I actually came to face it."

She revealed her 'hands' from beneath her cloak and observed them herself, running 'fingers' over the others. "It seems I have undergone more than one transformation."

Emelyn had obviously noticed the changes. They were so prevalent- and yet, somehow she was completely recognizable. Perhaps it was her poise, the way she spoke- that poetic lilt that came through in everything she said.

Emelyn shook her head- in more amazement. "You look wonderful. So... graceful, I guess the word is." Those long, lean legs, the cloven hooves- even the stretch of her face was, in a way, aristocratic. Only the brow above her eyes looked darker- more frightening- but Emelyn couldn't possibly see this change as a negative thing. Not when Emer seemed so happy.

Emerwyn's face grew warmer as it flushed. First Ian telling her that she was beautiful, now this.
She was not very good at taking compliments, and hardly knew what to say when faced with them.

"...Thank you."

The weather reflected Emerwyn's spirit, and she looked up to the patches of sunlight through the jungle roof to revel in it.
"It must be marvelous, living out here. I can't even recall what kept me inside for so long."

"It definitely has some amazing ups," Emelyn said, her eyes following Emer's up through the canopy. "Almost makes you forget the downs." But she said it as an afterthought- and not in an unsettled way. It was more- just a filtering of feeling- not unlike that light that poured down on them through the leaves.

"I think Ian is out here, as well," she said, not quite absently, "he said a while ago that he was going to try out the 'wild' for a while."

Emerwyn's ear pirked up at the mention of his name.
"Ian?"

"I... did not know he'd been living out here. As a matter of fact, I did not see him at all until... last night."
Her heart still glowed when she thought of being with him.

"Oh. ...Well, I'm glad you saw him. I've been wondering how he's been doing- I've not talked to him since that day he decided to live out here. ...How is he doing?" Her words were carefully chosen, coated in a seeming nonchalance.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:42 pm

"He's doing very well, now. We're both doing very well now."
Emerwyn didn't see how anything she said may have sounded odd or confusing. Her joy was a haze that clouded her vision.

"Both?" The word, coupled with that happy daze, was steeped too thickly in meaning for Emelyn to let it lie fallow. "Did something... happen, between you?" She smiled. Beamed, rather. There was just something so sweet at the idea of the deer of the island being together.
