No, I was thinking that the people that work on the Simpsons was probably brought over to work on the new Futurama movies. Just a theory.

OH, yeah that sounds like a sound theory. More sound then what Family Guy did.

Basically Family Guy just got a bunch of new writers when it was brought back.

no s**t. There's nowhere for them to go story wise. They went the Family Guy route years ago and since then...they just lost who they are.
I don't like King of the Hill but I can give that show ONE thing. They stayed who they are the entire series.

They petered out so long ago, I mean they just don't give a s**t anymore. If you watch any episode of it now a days a week after it airs, it's out dated.

I saw this rerun, and it focused on Marge going on this knock off of Cheaters...
of all the shows to parody, Cheaters.
I agree with you. It's just this weak attempt to stay relevant.

When did real shows start having this problem? I mean you watch married with children, seinfeld, cheers, you still like them, they aren't affected by age.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air even. And that s**t was as 90's as they come. In the end new and younger viewers need relevancy. Something they can relate to. You don't get that with the Simpsons now.
Comedian Dana Gould, writer for the show between '01 and '07 had this to say:
"I always heard this a lot, 'the show isn't as good five years ago,' and I would say 'well...neither are you.'"
...yeah that his defense. Considering that there are staples on tv that have been on longer than The Simpsons namely Letterman and Leno. They are even more popular right now than ever. That seems like a pretty weak argument Gould. Just go back to voicing Gex.

The Flintstones was on nearly as long, but they stayed basically the same.
